        Voice Mismatch Meets Neurolinguistics

This paper aims to investigate Korean advanced L2 English learners’ strategies for ellipsis resolution during sentence processing. Ellipsis resolution is known to involve several stages of information processing from the initial step of detecting an ellipsis-licensing element by the parser to the final stage of integrating the ellipsis site with the information retrieved from the antecedent of the ellipsis site. In examining these steps, we have manipulated three factors: (i) TP vs. VP-ellipsis; (ii) two types of discourse coherence relations (resemblance(-contrast) vs. cause-effect relations); (iii) voice match vs. mismatch. We found through the ERP recordings that voice mismatch in TP ellipsis elicited N400, followed by P600, irrespective of discourse coherence relations. In contrast, voice mismatch in VP-ellipsis registered N400 only in resemblance(-contrast) relation, but not in cause-effect relation. These findings lead us to conclude that Korean advanced L2 learners of English seem to undergo the full sequence of processing stages required for ellipsis resolution.

      • 免疫動物血淸을 利用한 有鉤 및 無鉤條蟲의 免疫反應에 관한 硏究

        Taenia solium and T. saginata are common cestodes of medical importance and important public health problem in Korea. Untill recently, most of the diagnosis and survey for human taeniasis are made by stool examinations, anal swabs and questioning of the patient. A number of serological techniques have currently been applied to parasitic diseases. The purpose of this study is to observe an immunological reaction of T. solium and T. Saginata with the immune animal sera. Inimmunized rabbit the sera were prepared weekly nata antigen. ELISA(enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) test, counter-immunoelectrophoresis test with same antigen or cross antigen were evaluated to determine their ability to detect the immune response. And, the absorption procedure is useful technique for the decrease of cross reaction. One ml of the 13th week hyper immune rabbit serum of certain antigen was absorbed with 20㎎ of another species antigen. The comparative studies were made on the ELISA and immunoelectrophoresis test with the pre- and post-absorbed sera. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The O.D.(optical density) values of the ELISA in T. solium immunized sera were appeared firstly 1.000 or greater after 2~3 weeks immunization, and T.saginata immunized sera were after 1~2 weeks immunization. Generally, the O.D. values of T. saginata immunized sera were rather higher than those of T. solium immunized sera. 2. The O.D. values of the post-absorbed sera were markedly decreased than those of the pre-absorbed sera. 3. The precipitate lines were firstly demonstrated at 1~2 weeks both T. solium and T. saginata immunized sera by the counter-immunoelectrophoresis test. 4. The O.D. values in T.solium immunized sera reacted with T. saginata antigen were appeared firstly 1.000 or greater after 3 weeks immunization, and T. saginata immunized sera reacted with T. solium antigen were appeared after 2~3 weeks immunization. Generally, the O.D. values of T. solium immunized sera were rather highter than those of T. saginata immunized sera. 5. The precipitate lines were firstly demonstrated at 3rd week of T. solium immunized sera reacted with T. saginata antigen and at 2nd week of T. saginata immunized sera reacted with T. solium antigen by the counter-immunoelectrophoresis test. 6. The precipitate lines in immunoelectrophoresis did not demonstrate both the postabsorbed sera of T. solium and T. saginata immunized sera. But in the pre-absorbed sera of T. saginata immunized sera were demonstrated rather another precipitate lines than those of T. solium.

      • 메추라기의 위점막 점액질의 조직화학적 성상에 관한 연구

        메추라기 위 점액분비세포의 점액질 성상을 조직화학적으로 밝히기 위하여, periodic acid Schiff(PAS)염색, alcian blue pH2.5 및 pH1.0염색, aldehyde fuchsin pH1.7 및 pH1.0염색, alcian blue pH2.5 -PAS염색, alcian blue pH1.0-PAS염색 및 aldehyde pH1.7-alcian blue pH2.5염색을 시행하여 관찰한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 전위 점막상피의 점액질은 체부에서 표면상피는 상당량의 강 sulfomucin과 중성점액질이 혼합된 점액질이었고 관상선상피는 소량 내지 상당량의 강 sulfomucin과 중성점액질의 혼합성이었으나, 사낭 연접부 전위에서 표면 및 관상선상피는 상당량의 강 sulfomucin만을 가진 세포와 상당량의 강 sulfomucin과 소량 또는 상당량의 중성점액질을 가진 세포가 구별되었다. 전위복합선상피의 점액질은 소량 또는 상당량의 강 sulfomucin과 중성점액질의 혼합성이었다. 사낭 점막상피의 점액질은 체부에서 표면상피는 상당량의 강 sulfomucin만을 가진 세포와 상당량의 강 sulfomucin과 미량의 중성점액질을 가진 세포가 구별되었고 전자가 대부분이었으나 사낭선은 소량의 중성점액질을 함유하고 있었으며, 전위 연접부 사낭에서 표면 상피는 상당량의 sulfomucin만을 가진 세포와 소량 또는 상당량의 sulfomucin과 상당량의 중성점액질을 가진 세포가 구별되었으며 사낭선은 미량의 sulfomucin과 소량의 중성점액질의 혼합성이었다. This experiment was performed to study histochemical properties of epithelial mucosubstances in the gastric mucosa of the quail(Coturnix coturnix japonica). The specimens used in this experiment were obtained from the proventriculus and gizzard, of the quail. The removed tissues were fixed in 10% neutral buffered formaline, then were embedded in paraffin and sectioned at 6㎛ . The sections were stained by hematoxylin and eosin for histological structure of proventriculus and gizzard, and by periodic acid Schoff(PAS), alcian blue pH 2.5, alcian blue pH 1.0, aldehyde fuchsin pH 1.7, aldehyde fuchsin pH 1.0, alcian blue pH 2.5-PAS, alcian blue pH 1.0-PAS, aldehyde fuchsin pH 1.7-alcian blue pH 2.5, for the histochemical differentiation of mucosubstances, respectively. The results were as follows: In the corpus of proventiculus, the mucosubstances of surface epithelial cells were contained large amounts of strong sulfomucin and neutral mucin, the mucosubstance of the epithelial cells in the tubular gland were small or large amount of strong sulfomucin and neutral mucin. In proventriculus of proventriculogizzard junction, surface epithelium and tubular gland showed two types of cells with mucosubstances, one large amounts strong sulfomucin and small or large amounts of neutral mucin. In composite gland, the mucosubstances of epithelial cells were recognized as consisting of small or large amounts of strong sulfomucin and neutral mucin. In the corpus of gizzard, there were two kinds of cells consisting of surface epithelium in mucosa: one large amounts of strong sulfomucin, the other large amounts of strong sulfomucin and minimal amounts of neutral mucin. The former were much more than the latter in the number of cells. In tubular gland on the gizzard corpus, the mucosubstances of epithelial cells were recognized as consisting of small amounts of neutral mucin. In the gizzard of proventriculogizzard junction, there were two types of cells in surface epithelium: one cell having large amounts of sulfomucin, other cells having large amounts of sulfomucin and neutral mucin. In gizzard gland of above region, it was contained minimal amounts of sulfomucin and small amounts of neutral mucin.

      • 萬金湯 및 加味萬金湯이 高脂血症에 미치는 影響

        In order to investigate the effect of Mangumtang(MT) and Gamimangumtang(GMT) experi-mental studies were performed in Ex.1(treated with cholesterol and administration of sample at a time) and Ex2.(administration of sample after the treatment of cholesterol). The results were summerized as follows : 1.The content of Total cholesterol in the serum was not significantly decreased in MT group, whereas in GMT group sinificantly decreased compared with control group in Ex.1 and all significnatly decreased in MT group and GMT group in Ex.2. 2.The content of Triglyseride in the serum was all significantly decreased in MT group and GMT group in all case. 3.The content of Phospholipid in the serum was not significantly decreased in MT group, whereas in GMT group was significantly decreased compared with control gruop in Ex.1 or Ex.2. 4.The content of Free Fatty Acid in the serum was significantly decreased in MT group and GMT group in all case. 5.The content of HDL-Cholesterol in the serum was tended to decreased compared with control group but did not show a significance in Ex.2 or Ex.2. 6.The content of LDL-Cholesterol in the serum was not significantly decreased in MT group and GMT group in Ex.1, whereas in Ex.2 not significantly decreased in MT group but significantly decreased in GMT group. According to the above results, it is assumed that Mangumtang and Gamimangumtang have a vaild effect on Hyperlipidemia. especially Gamimangu-mtang have a more valild effect on prevention and cure of Hyperlipidemia.

        Aspergillus sp. PS-104의 액침배양중 mycellial pellet 형성에 미치는 황토의 영향

        유리인산 생산균을 생물비료화 하기 위한 노력의 일환으로 인산가용화능이 우수한 Aspergillus sp. PS-104 균주를 액침배양하면서 pellet 형성에 미치는 황토의 영향을 조사하였다. Aspergillussp. PS-104의 분생포자를 황토를 포함하는 PDB 배지에 접종하여50 rpm의 낮은 속도로 교반하여 배양하면 무정형의 불규칙적인pellet을 형성하는 반면에 150 rpm의 높은 속도로 배양하면 구형의 규칙적인 pellet을 형성하였다. 또한 0∼10% (W/V) 범위의황토 첨가시에는 황토의 농도가 높을수록 pellet의 크기가 작게 형성되었으며, 1.0% 황토 농도에서 1.0±0.1 mm의 가장 작은pellet이 형성되었다. 이 결과는 황토를 첨가하지 않는 경우에 비하여 약 4배 작아진 것이다. 그러나 황토 농도가 1.5% 이상 되면 무정형의 큰 pellet이 형성되었다. 또한 황토의 주성분인 SiO_2Fe_2O_3, A1_20_3, CaC0_3, Caso_4,MgC0_3 분말을 각각 O∼l.0% 농도로 배지에 첨가하여 pellet 형성에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과Al_2O_3를 제외하고는 첨가물의 농도가 높을수록 작은 크기의pellet이 형성되었으며, MgCO_3를 첨가했을 때 가장 작은 크기의pellet을 형성하였다. In order to investigate effects of loess on the mycellial pellet formation a phosphate-solubilizing fungus Aspergillus sp. PS-104 was cultured in potato dextrose broth containing loess. The strain formed an amorphous pellet or loose aggregates agitated at a low speed (50 rpm) while spherical and regular pellets at a high speed (150 rpm). The higher concentration of loess was added, the smaller size of a pellet was formed during the submerged culture of the strain. As shown in results, being cultured in the PDB medium supplemented with 1.0% loess the pellet size was maximally reduced to a fourth compared to the control. Evaluating the addition effect of several components of loess such as SiO_2, Fe_2O_3, Al_2O_3, CaCO_3, CaSO_4 and MgCO_3 on the reduction of mycellial pellet size the higher concentration was supplied, the smaller size of pellet was formed except Al_2O_3 And the smallest pellet size was recorded at the concentration of 1.0% (W/V) magnesium carbonate.

        L-형 장골이식을 이용한 구순열 비변형의 수정

        Patients with a cleft lip nasal deformities hope for a pleasing nasal profile, a well-defined angular nasal tip, and symmetry of the nose. The main objective of the correction of cleft lip nasal deformity is to achieve nasal symmetry and an improved nasolabial relationship. The present study was carried out to assess the effect and prognosis of correction of cleft lip nasal deformity with L-shaped iliac bone graft. We performed correction surgery of the severe cleft lip nasal deformity with the autogenous L-shaped iliac bone graft in five patients and described the technique of correction. The columella portion of the L-shaped graft provided stabilization, eliminating the see-saw effect of the bridge on the bony fulcrum of the bony bridge, The disadvantage of this technique was stiffening of the nasal tip, which included the distal end of the grafted bone. However, the nasal tip gradually becomes softer, probably due to resorption of the bony edge several months after the operation. We obtained stable and symmetric reconstruction of the supporting elements of the nose. These results suggest that L-shaped iliac bone graft is stable and esthetic reconstruction method for correction of the severe cleft lip nasal deformity

      • 미세 패턴에서 공정 여유도를 고려한 선폭 분석

        The linewidth variation with different process variables, such as exposure dose, thickness of PR, thickness of thin film, and the optical property of thin film, was studied for deep UV light and resist developed 0.25 μm isolated line pattern. We found that the PR thickness which gave minimum linewidth showed larger exposure latitude and smaller linewidth variation compared to the PR thickness which gave maximum linewidth. Thus it will provide better process latitude and smaller linewidth variation if we use this PR thickness.
