In this paper, these characteristics utilizing 3D arcade game is aimed at making. In particular, the game engine without the use of the whole process by making DirectX libraries by using only low-level PC that can be used in the benefits and advantages are efficient in terms of memory.

There are a number of linguists who deny the existence of subjects in Korean sentences. They assert that what seems to be a subject is only a part of predicate and not a grammatical category symmetrical to the predicate. The writer of this paper, however, proposes that the grammatical category of subjects should be recognized for a rational "description" of the regularity and generalization of Korean sentence structures; and points out some linguistic data which would not be convincingly explained without the concept of subjects. In this sense, Korean should, typologically, be classified as "subject-prominent and topic-prominent language," as Charles N. Li (1976) elucidated. Korean, however, has stronger characteristics of a "topic-prominent language" than those of a "subject-prominent." This is because the word order of a Korean sentence is so free as to bring any NP to the beginning of the sentence and make it the topic. In English, on the contrary, the word order is firmmly established and there are many it constraints to change the word order and to topicalize any other NP than the subject word. The interaction between language and thought has made English tend to grasp any external phenomenon as "a movement from one place to another", whereas Korean sees it as "a development of the situation." In English it is only natural to say, "John came to life" and "John went crazy", but Korean cannot use these words of movement, "come" and "go" in the above sense, Corresponding expressions of Korean will be "John became conscious." and "John became crazy." In English, the speaker gives particular prominence to the actor or subject of the sentence which is usually an "agentitive" human; but in Korean, the actor is apt to be dissolved into the background situation. Thus, "I can see a ship in the distance." and "What is audible?" in Korean. If personal pronouns are put at the beginning of a Korean sentence, it is probably meant to be a topic rather than a subject of the sentence, meaning "speaking of myself" or "as for you". For the samme reason of denying prominence to the subject, an expression of possessionis avoided in Korean and "To me there are the sons.", In the room there are two windows." are preferred to "I have three sons,", "The room has two windows." To sum up, English, because it pays attention to individuals that act or move from one place to another, may be considered as "the actor-or agent-centered language.", the Actor-ACTS type language", "HAVE type language.", "human-centered language", and "subject-prominent language"; whereas Korean, which pays more attention to the transition of the total phenomenon, may be considered as "the situation-oriented language," "nature-centered language", "BECOME type language", "BE type language", "non-human-centered language," and "topic-prominent language", although the features of subject-prominent language are also gradually turning up in Korea.
주의력결핍과잉행동장애와 Alpha-1C-Adrenergic 수용체 유전자와의 연관성에 대한 연구

Objectives : Neurobiological and pharmacological research has suggested that the dysregulation of the central noradrenergic systems might be involved in the pathophysiology of ADHD. The aim of this study was to examine the association of the alpha-1C-adrenergic receptor gene (ADRA1C) with ADHD in Korean subjects. Methods : In a case-control study, we assessed 186 DSM-IV ADHD probands and 150 normal controls. One hundred and eight trios were studied in a family-based association analysis. Psychiatric diagnoses were derived through structured diagnostic interviews. For the clinical evaluation of the ADHD subjects, the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), the ADHD Rating Scale-IV (ARS) and the Junior Temperament and Character Inventory (JTCI) were administered. A computerized continuous performance test (CPT) was used to measure the inattention and impulsivity of the ADHD children. Results : There were no significant differences in the genotype or allele frequencies of the ADRA1C PstI polymorphism between the ADHD and control group (p>0.05). The transmission disequilibrium test (TDT) analysis observed no evidence for biased transmission of any of the alleles of the PstI polymorphism. There were no significant differences in the CPT or JTCI profiles between those ADHD subjects with the CC genotype and those with the other (CT+TT) genotypes at the PstI polymorphism. Conclusion : The results of this study do not support the ADRA1C as a major genetic susceptibility factor in ADHD.

For the purpose to estimate the exposure levels of heavy metals and to present a basis of occupational health managements to the industrial workers exposed to heavy metals, this study conducted to know the lead and chromium levels of whole blood of industrial workers. The study population were divided into three groups to the exposure levels ; directed exposure group, indirect exposure group and non-exposure group, and the sample number of workers who exposed to lead were 80, chromium were 77, and control group were 31. The contents of lead and chromium were analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results were summerized as follows : 1. Sex distribution of studied group were 77.1 % in male, and 22.9 % in female. Age distribution were 74.4% in 30-49 age group. The work in years were 43.1 % in 5-10 years, 29.8% in 1-4 years. 2. Mean blood level of lead were 33.53㎍/㎗ in direct exposure, 23.84㎍/㎗ in indirect exposure group and 11.77㎍/㎗ in control group. 3. Mean blood levels of chromium were 1.9㎍/㎗ in direct exposure, 1.51㎍/㎗ in indirect groups and 0.95㎍/㎗ in control group. 4. Mean lead levels of direct exposure group was higher in male than female as 36.44㎍/㎗, 27.35㎍/㎗ respectively, but there was no difference in indirect and control group by sex. Mean chromium levels of direct exposure group were higher levels 2.26㎍/㎗ in female than 1.84㎍/㎗ in male, but there were no difference in indirect and control group by sex. 5. The age group of 29 or younger among the direct exposed had high level of lead and chromium as 35.7㎍/㎗ 2.41㎍/㎗ respectively, but that age group had no evident difference in the level of lead and chromium among the indirect exposed and non-exposed.

고등학교 지구과학 '광물의 감정' 내용에 대한 컴퓨터 보조학습 프로그램이 16 bit IBM-PC 기종에서 학습할 수 있도록 한국형 저작도구(KAS)로 개발되었다. 이 프로그램은 하이퍼텍스트 및 인터럽트 기능 등을 이용하여 만들어 졌으며 학습자가 혼자서 학습할 수 있는 반복 연습형이다. 그리고 이 프로그램은 학습자와 컴퓨터와의 상호작용 효과를 고려하여 제작되었다. 'Judgememt of Minerals' Muitimedia program is developed as an helping tool for the content of high school earth science with 16 bit IBM-PC compatible computer using 'KAS(Korea Authoring System) Ver.3.0'. This program is Drill and Practice type for individual study through, hypertext, interupt functions. And the program is considered to the reciprocal action effect between learner and computer.

Object : This study was designed to examine the association between monocyte chemoattractant protein-l (MCPl) -2518poly morphism and major depressive disorder (MDD). Methods : Ninety patients with MDD and 114 healthy controls participated in this study. Genotyping was performed by the polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism method. Results : Genotype and allele distributions in patients with MDD were significantly different from those of the controls, In particular, subjects with the allele A were found to have an increased risk of MDD. Conclusion : The present study suggests that the MCPl -2518 polymorphism may have a potential role for susceptibility to MDD in the Korean population and thus calls for consecutive studies in order to pile up the data with larger different ethnic background.

Objectives : This study aimed to test the possible association between Glutathione S-Transferase Ml gene (GSTMl) variants and schizophrenia. Methods : One hundred and eleven inpatients with schizophrenia and 130 healthy controls were recruited. Genotyping was performed by polymerase chain reaction-based method. Results : The GSTMl null genotype was significantly more frequent in patients with schizophrenia than in controls (p=0.014, odd ratio=1.93, 95% confidence interva1=1.115-3.351), while GSTMl genotype vahants were not associated with either tardive dyskinesia (TD) or total Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale (AIMS) scores. Conclusion : The present study suggests that the GSTMl polymorphism may confer susceptibility to the development of schizophrenia but not to TD, at least in Korean population.

A study is numerically carried out for the load capacity characteristics of conical hydrostatic bearings in the linear actuator. A numerical analysis is performed using the finite difference method, and the pressure distributions, load capacities and leakage flows of conical bearings according to bearing land, eccentricity and velocity, are obtained. Analysis shows that double bearing has the maximum load capacity between land ratio L??=0.0 and 0.1 independent of ε, A, T, L, and the double bearing with L??=0.1 is recommanded in the linear actuator.
