Study Design: A prospective cohort study.Purpose: This study aimed to reveal physical functions and comorbidity affecting collapse at ≥4 weeks after hospital admission of patients with osteoporotic vertebral fracture.Overview of Literature: Only a few studies have investigated the influence of physical function and activity on collapse in patients with osteoporotic vertebral fractures. Methods: This prospective cohort study analyzed patients with osteoporotic vertebral fractures admitted to the hospital between March 2018 and October 2019. Logistic regression analysis was performed to explore the predictors of vertebral collapse at >4 weeks after admission. Model 1 used basic medical information and physical functions at admission; model 2 used basic medical information and physical function and activity at >4 weeks after admission. Results: In the model 1 results of logistic regression analysis, cardiovascular disease (odds ratio [OR], 12.27; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.28–117.91) was extracted as a factor affecting vertebral collapse at ≥4 weeks after admission. In the model 2 results of logistic regression analysis, cardiovascular disease (OR, 34.57; 95% CI, 2.53–471.74), movement control during one leg standing at 4 weeks (OR, 7.25; 95% CI, 1.36–38.71), and Pain Catastrophizing Scale score at 4 weeks (OR, 1.11; 95% CI, 1.01–1.21) were extracted as factors affecting vertebral collapse at ≥4 weeks after admission. Conclusions: Our results indicate that physical functions and comorbidity affect collapse at ≥4 weeks after admission in patients with osteoporotic vertebral fractures.
An ATM-Based Multicast Intersatellite Routing for LEO Satellite Networks
Umehara, Daisuke,Ebiko, Keisuke,Kobayashi, Toshihito,Kawai, Makoto,Morihiro, Yoshiteru 통신위성우주산업연구회 2000 Joint Conference on Satellite Communications Vol.2000 No.-
Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite communication systems with InterSatellite Links (ISLs) are promising as a world-wide multimedia core network infrastructure. As satellites come to higher latitudes in polar orbit constellation, the degradation of ISL transmission quality becomes large because of ISL interference and relative angular velocity between satellites in adjacent orbits. This paper deals with the transmission quality of ISLs based on the general transmission model. We propose an ATM-based multicast routing approach with link weight which overcomes the degradation of transmission quality and show that this approach enhances transmission quality significantly by computer simulation.

NEW EVALUATION METHOD FOR SURFCE ENERGY WITH μm SIZE LIQUID DROPLETS
Umehara, N.,Yamaguchi, uichiro,Kato, Koji 경북대학교 트라이볼로지연구소 2001 INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON HIGH PERFORMANCE OF TRI Vol.2001 No.-
New evaluation method of surface energy with an ESEM was proposed. In this method, condensed liquid droplets were used for the measurement of contact angle. Two different contact angles with water and diiodemethane droplets on the specimen provided surface energy of the specimen. The surface energy obtained with this method is the same as the values by the conventional method with micro-syringe. Therefore, this method can use for the evaluation of the surface energy. Contact angles of water droplets are independent of the diameter of the droplets. On the other hand, contact angles of diiodemethane decrease with diameter of that if the diameter is more than 100μm.
NOVEL POLISHING METHOD USING MR LIQUIDS WITH STEEL NEEDLESS
Umehara, N. ENGINEERING TRIBOLOGY RESEARCH INSTITUTE KYUNGPOOK 2000 INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON HIGH PERFORMANCE OF TRI Vol.2000 No.-
In order to polish complicated-shaped inner surfaces of molds, a new polishing method using Magnetic Rheological liquid (MR liquid) with steel needles was proposed. MR liquid with abrasives and steel needles generated polishing pressure. Oscillation motion was applied to MR liquid with electro-magnetic exciter during polishing. As results, introduction of steel needles to this method increased removal rate by 70 times. Obtained maximum removal rates for cemented carbide and tool steel is 1.6㎛/hour and 2.5 ㎛/hour, respectively. Removal rate is proportional to the inverse value of Vickers hardness of workpiece. So it is considered that material removal mechanism of this method is mechanical removal caused by plastic deformation. The sharp cone type magnetic pole provides largest removal rate of all. Increasing of coil current of the solenoid coil increases removal rate. It can be considered that magnetic field strength is governing factor for removal rate.
Another Construction of a CMC-1 Surface in H³
UMEHARA, MASAAKI,YAMADA, KOTARO 경북대학교 위상수학 기하학연구센터 1999 硏究論文集 Vol.9 No.-
We give a new technique to construct CMC-1 surfaces in the hyperbolic 3-space. Using the technique, we have a new example of conformal CMC-1 immersion of the square torus excluded two points. The example induces a conformal pseudometric of curvature 1 on the square torus with conical singularities of non-integral order.
TRIBOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF NANO METER SCALE HARD COATINGS
Umehara, N.,Kato, K. ENGINEERING TRIBOLOGY RESEARCH INSTITUTE KYUNGPOOK 1998 INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON HIGH PERFORMANCE OF TRI Vol.1998 No.-
By using ion beam assisted deposition (IBAD), carbon nitride coatings whose thickness were less than 100nm were coated on Si substrate, Friction and wear properties against SiC pin were investigated with a pin-on-disk tester. Experimental results show that wear of CNx coatings and SiC pin were dramatically reduced by Cnx coating, even if coating thickness was less than 100nm. Thicker CNx coating provided better wear resistant at high sliding speed.
