Wet Cupping (al-hijama) for Mental Health: A Systematic Review
Ucun Yasemin 대한침구의학회 2022 대한침구의학회지 Vol.39 No.2
This systematic review aimed to evaluate the effects of wet cupping on the treatment of mental illness. A total of 2,670 studies were retrieved using PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and Science Direct databases, and of these, 2,661 were excluded due to not meeting the inclusion criteria. There were 9 articles included in this review including 1,124 individuals who received wet cupping. Mental health was explored in, those who had migraines, metabolic syndrome, smoking addiction, post-traumatic stress, chronic medical disease, and depression. As an intervention procedure, the triple S technique was used in all studies. Only 3 studies reported that none of the participants complained of adverse events during or after the cupping therapy. In all studies, wet cupping was reported to be effective in reducing psychological symptoms. However, there are few randomized controlled trials testing the e?ectiveness of wet cupping in the treatment of mental health, and most are of poor quality. Therefore, more rigorous studies are required before the effectiveness of wet cupping for the treatment of mental illness can be determined.
CoNeT Mobile Laboratory for Ethernet Based I/O Systems in Industrial Applications
Levent Ucun,Onur Akbatı,Galip Cansever 제어로봇시스템학회 2012 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2012 No.10
This paper studies Ethernet based I/O systems in industrial applications. This study is involved in CoNeT, the European Union funded project, which stands for Cooperative Network Training. The project aims at training of automation engineers, maintenance engineers, process workers and students both graduate and undergraduate in modern wired and wireless industrial network technology applied to control operations and automated solutions. Seven modules dealing with different subjects about industrial automation have been designed in the concept of the project. This study has been carried out to design the first module which is about training in Ethernet based I/O systems. Mobile laboratory involving different industrial communication devices from different automation manufacturers has been founded and industrial application-oriented experiments have been designed to be carried out in the mobile laboratory.
3D finite element modelling of drilling process of Al7075-T6 alloy and experimental validation
İrfan Ucun 대한기계학회 2016 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.30 No.4
In this study, the performances of twist and 3-flute drills in the drilling process of Al7075-T6 aluminium alloy were investigated experimentally and numerically. In the experimental phase, the drilling processes were carried out with the twist and 3-flute drills at three different feed rates (0.05, 0.1, 0.2 mm/rev) and four different cutting speeds (60, 90, 120, 150 m/min). The thrust forces occurring during the drilling processes were measured with a Kistler 9257b dynamometer. In the numerical phase, a 3D finite element model of the drilling process was carried out with Deform 3D V6.1 software. During the finite element analyses of the drilling processes, the thrust forces were numerically obtained and compared with the experimental thrust forces. Also, the torque and tool stress occurring in the drilling process were determined numerically. At the end of the study, the results showed that there is a good agreement between the experimental and numerical results. Additionally, it is shown that the thrust force, torque and tool stress obtained with the twist drill were less than those of the 3-flute drill.

Simulated reactive dyebath effluent (pH≈11.0–11.5) bearing the commercially important textile azo dye Reactive Red 21 (100 mg/L) can be successfully decolorized via ozone (feed rate=72 mg/min) and peroxide (=0.75–6.00 mM)/ozone treatment processes. Persulfate (PS), peracetic acid (PAA) and percarbonate (PC) were selected as alternative oxidants to the more conventional hydrogen peroxide. Color (peak absorbance) and total organic carbon (TOC) removals increased with increasing PS concentration, but decreased when PC was introduced due to free radical scavenging effects of carbonate alkalinity. PAA improved color and TOC removal rates, but thereby also contributed to the TOC content of the dyebath effluent. PAA-assisted ozonation showed the highest performance in terms of color removal at an optimum PAA concentration (=1.5 mM). According to the gas phase-and-dissolved ozone measurements, addition of the peroxides PS-PAA enhanced ozone decomposition and increased ozone absorption rates whereas PC addition stabilized aqueous, molecular ozone. The originally non-toxic reactive dyebath effluent (≈10% relative inhibition) did not exhibit serious acute toxicity towards Vibrio fischeri photobacterium throughout ozonation and ozone/PS treatment, whereas a slight increase was observed for ozone/PAA-ozone/PC that decreased with applied ozone dose. The 7th-day-biochemical-oxygen-demand (BOD7; <10 mg/L) decreased with ozone dose speaking for less biodegradable oxidation products.
