There is growing evidence that the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is associated with increased risks of psychiatric sequelae. Depression, anxiety, cognitive impairments, sleep disturbance, and fatigue during and after the acute phase of COVID-19 are prevalent, long-lasting, and exerting negative consequences on well-being and imposing a huge burden on healthcare systems and society. This current review presented timely updates of clinical research findings, particularly focusing on the pathogenetic mechanisms underlying the neuropsychiatric sequelae, and identified potential key targets for developing effective treatment strategies for long COVID. In addition, we introduced the Formosa Long COVID Multicenter Study (FOCuS), which aims to apply the inflammation theory to the pathogenesis and the psychosocial and nutrition treatments of post-COVID depression and anxiety.

Background: Although secukinumab demonstrated superior efficacy to ustekinumab in patients with moderate-tosevere plaque psoriasis at 16 and 52 weeks in the global CLEAR study, subgroup analysis among Asian population has not been investigated so far. Objectives: We aimed to describe the efficacy and safety of secukinumab versus ustekinumab over 52 weeks in Asian patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in the CLEAR study. Methods: Patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis received either secukinumab 300mg or ustekinumab 45 or 90mg. Logistic regression analysis of PASI 75, PASI 90 and PASI 100 at week 16 and 52 using nonresponder imputation was conducted, P<0.05 was considered significant. Results: Sixty-two Asian patients were included in the subanalysis (23 secukinumab vs 39 ustekinumab). Secukinumab was superior to ustekinumab in achieving PASI 90 response at week 16. Superior efficacy was also observed for secukinumab vs ustekinumab with respect to PASI 75 and PASI 90 at week 52. Secukinumab exhibited a favorable safety profile similar to ustekinumab in an Asian population, and also consistent with the main trial results. Conclusion: Secukinumab provided superior efficacy over ustekinumab in clearing skin of Asian patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. These results are consistent with the core study results (NCT02074982).
Users’ Attachment Styles and ChatGPT Interaction: Revealing Insights into User Experiences

본 연구는 OpenAI가 개발한 고급 언어 모델인 ChatGPT (Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer)와 사용자의 애착 유형 간의 관계를 탐구한다. 인공지능(AI)이 점차 일상생활에 통합되면서, 다양한 애착 유형을 가진 개인들이 AI 챗봇과 상호 작용하는 방식을 이해하는 것은 특정 사용자 요구를 충족하고 사용자와 가장 이상적인 방식으로 상호 작용하는 더 나은 사용자 경험을 구축하기 위해 중요하다. 심리학의 애착 이론을 기반으로 한 이 연구에서는 애착 유형이 ChatGPT와 상호 작용에 미치는 영향을 탐구하여 인간과 AI 간의 상호 작용에 대한 이해에서 중요한 공백을 메우고 있다. 예상과는 달리, 애착 유형은 ChatGPT 사용에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 애착 유형에 관계없이 중요한 정보를 전달하는 ChatGPT를 완전히 신뢰하는 것을 주저했으며, AI 시스템의 신뢰 문제를 해결해야 할 필요성을 강조한다. 단, 본 연구는 사용자와 ChatGPT 간 독특한 상호 작용에 중점을 두어, 애착 유형이 이러한 상호 작용에 미치는 영향을 해명하여 AI 챗봇의 개인화된 사용자 경험을 개발하는 데에 도움이 되고자 한다. 또, 본 연구는 Perceived Partner Responsiveness Scale의 도입은 사용자가 ChatGPT의 역할에 대한 인식을 평가하는 유용한 도구로 기능하며, AI의 인격화에 대한 관점을 제시한다. 본 연구는 인간과 AI 간의 관계에 대한 넓은 토론에 기여하며, 사용자 중심의 미래를 위해 AI 시스템에 감정 지능을 통합하는 중요성을 강조한다. This study explores the relationship between users attachment styles and their interactions with ChatGPT (Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer), an advanced language model developed by OpenAI. As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly integrated into everyday life, it is essential to understand how individuals with different attachment styles engage with AI chatbots in order to build a better user experience that meets specific user needs and interacts with users in the most ideal way. Grounded in attachment theory from psychology, we are exploring the influence of attachment style on users interaction with ChatGPT, bridging a significant gap in understanding human-AI interaction. Contrary to expectations, attachment styles did not have a significant impact on ChatGPT usage or reasons for engagement. Regardless of their attachment styles, hesitated to fully trust ChatGPT with critical information, emphasizing the need to address trust issues in AI systems. Additionally, this study uncovers complex patterns of attachment styles, demonstrating their influence on interaction patterns between users and ChatGPT. By focusing on the distinctive dynamics between users and ChatGPT, our aim is to uncover how attachment styles influence these interactions, guiding the development of AI chatbots for personalized user experiences. The introduction of the Perceived Partner Responsiveness Scale serves as a valuable tool to evaluate users perceptions of ChatGPTs role, shedding light on the anthropomorphism of AI. This study contributes to the wider discussion on human-AI relationships, emphasizing the significance of incorporating emotional intelligence into AI systems for a user-centered future.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Treatment with 5α‐reductase inhibitors has been associated with sexual adverse events such as impotence (erectile dysfunction) and decreased libido. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate adverse events related to sexual function, based on their frequency, duration, persistence and associated treatment discontinuations, in men treated with dutasteride for androgenetic alopecia. Participants were randomized to receive double‐blind dutasteride 0.5 mg or placebo once daily for 24 weeks, followed by open‐label dutasteride 0.5 mg for an additional 24 weeks. Sexual adverse events were followed up until resolution or for up to 24 weeks after the last dose. Overall, 117 men, 23–50 years of age, were randomized. The incidence of sexual adverse events was approximately twofold higher in the dutasteride group (16%) than the placebo group (8%) during the double‐blind period; the overall incidence of sexual adverse events was lower (5%) during the open‐label period. All adverse events were mild to moderate in severity and considered treatment‐related. The adverse events resolved while on study treatment or after the end of treatment and did not lead to treatment discontinuation. A limitation of this study was the small sample size. The sexual adverse events of impotence, decreased libido and ejaculation disorders reported in this study were expected and reversible.</P>

The effects of bioavailability and metabolic transformation on the biological activities of daidzein are relatively unknown. The effects of daidzein, dihydrodaidzein, and equol at physiologically relevant concentrations on the production of leukotriene B4 and F2-isoprostanes, and myeloperoxidase enzyme activity in freshly isolated human neutrophils were examined. Equol, at physiological concentrations, inhibited leukotriene B4 production (IC50–200 nmol/L) in human neutrophils significantly more than daidzein and dihydrodaidzein (IC50 values >1000 nmol/L). Daidzein, dihydrodaidzein, and equol did not affect the enzymatic hydrolysis of leukotriene A4 to leukotriene B4, suggesting that they exerted their inhibitory effects on the 5-lipoxygenase activity. Daidzein (IC50 = 600 nmol/L) protected against free radical peroxidation of arachidonic acid significantly more than did equol and dihydrodaidzein (IC50 values >1000 nmol/L). Equol also showed significantly greater inhibition of myeloperoxidase activity (IC50 = 450 nmol/L) when compared to daidzein and dihydrodaidzein. Equol accumulated within the human neutrophils at significantly higher concentrations than daidzein and dihydrodaidzein after incubation with the three compounds at physiologically relevant concentrations. Neutrophils were able to accumulate intracellular daidzein, dihydrodaidzein, and equol up to a concentration of ∼600 nmol/L. Our results provide in vitro evidence that the biological activities of daidzein are profoundly influenced by bioavailability and metabolic transformation.
