Output Feedback Stabilization for a Class of Cascade Nonlinear ODEPDE Systems
Yanjie Chang,Tongjun Sun,Xianfu Zhang,Xiandong Chen 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2021 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.19 No.7
In this paper, the output feedback stabilization problem is studied for a class of cascade nonlinear ODEPDE systems. The nonlinear terms of ODE-subsystem are assumed to be bounded by a known constant multiplied by unmeasured states, and PDE-subsystem is a diffusion equation. Especially, the unstable diffusion equation is considered. Based on the low gain observer and a series of transformations, the output feedback stabilization problem is converted into designing proper gain parameters. Furthermore, the stability of the closed-loop system is analyzed by Lyapunov theorem. Finally, two numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

Subtraction of functional magnetic resonance imaging activity data results in a loss of information regarding possible general patterns of brain activation under experimental conditions. We, hence, reanalyzed previous Waiguan acupuncture data to qualitatively elucidate patterns of cerebral correlations to acupuncture and placebo conditions. Healthy individuals (n=24) were randomly allocated to true and sham Waiguan acupuncture and to true and sham needling of a nonacupuncture point (nonacupoint), and functional magnetic resonance imaging scans were performed during stimulation. Statistical parametric mapping group comparisons revealed clearly different patterns of activation between Waiguan stimulation and the corresponding stimulation of a nonacupoint. The former condition produced less neocortical activation than the nonacupoint stimulation. Cerebellar activation was typically seen only during true Waiguan acupuncture. The reduced neocortical activity during both true and sham Waiguan acupuncture may indicate that this point activates anticorrelated networks, with possible intrinsic healing properties. Cerebellar activation during true Waiguan acupuncture implies the region's influence on healing networks.

As one of the most common engine types in nowadays, the thermal efficiency of spark-Ignition (SI) engine is limited due to the lower compression ratio. Various technical solutions have been proposed to suppress knock and improve compression ratio of SI engines. In this paper, an new technical solution based on electromagnetic valve train (EMVT) was proposed to suppress knock of spark ignition engines, so that high compression ratio (HCR) engine (13:5) was obtained. Moreover, experimental and numerical analyses were carried out to optimize the proposed EMVT strategy. The result showed that the proposed EMVT strategies could well suppress the engine knock by reducing end-gas temperature and pressure and improving the spark-flame rate, resulting in significantly enhanced power, economic, and emission characteristics of SI engines. This study provides theoretical basis and technical approach for the development of internal combustion engines with high efficiency and high compression ratio.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Previous laboratory-scale research has shown that the post-yield softening of graphite-incorporated expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam has the unique property of vibroacoustic insulation for low-frequency floor impacts. However, the core softening causes decoupled behaviors in the sandwich floor, and thus, the improvement in insulation may deteriorate at some frequencies. To understand how core softening actually affects the insulation performance in real-life building structures, the vibroacoustic behaviors of sandwich floors with softened graphite-incorporated EPS cores was studied through a full-scale experimental investigation. The results indicate that core softening lowers the degree of coupling between the upper and lower plates, shifts the coupled and decoupled modes of the floor to lower frequencies, and develops decoupled modal wave fields in the upper plate. The frequency and amplitude of the sound produced by modal behavior of the sandwich floor vary in accordance with the vibration response of the lower plate, which depends on the changes in the structural wave field with core softening. Furthermore, the shift in the structural modal frequency with core softening affects the modal coupling between the structural and acoustic domains.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The primary goal of this paper is to address the challenges associated with the design and application of a practical wireless measurement system for the continuous safety monitoring of a large-scale structural members under construction. A practical wireless sensor network system (WSNS) was designed and real-time structural health monitoring (SHM) on long–span girders in a building under construction was performed. A WSNS consists of vibrating wire strain gauges (VWSGs) along with a sensor node, a master node, and a monitoring server. The field application of the WSNS using WVWSs was conducted on long-span plate girder and beam members of the K Art Hall during the construction of the building. It was possible to monitor the strain changes of the long-span plate girders and beams in real time as a function of the construction process and temperature changes.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A practical wireless monitoring system composed of sensor and master nodes is presented. </LI> <LI> The monitoring system measures strain responses of long span girders under construction. </LI> <LI> The system is shown to effectively monitor the safety of the structural members subjected to construction loads. </LI> <LI> The presented system can be applied to safety monitoring of buildings under construction. </LI> </UL> </P>
