      • An Embedded Feature Extraction Algorithm with MMC for Face Recognition

        Feature extraction is the most crucial part of face recognition system, which has important role in the field of pattern recognition. There are a lot of classic algorithms about feature extraction at present, such as the method based on linear and nonlinear. An effective classification and dimension reduction method, local embedded graph attribute selection algorithm with maximal region is to generate the inherent graph and penalty graph, to overcome the low efficiency problem of local linear embedding (LLE) method and maximum margin criterion (MMC) method. With inherent picture, the structured nonlinear can be found on the high-dimensioned space by using local geometry of the restructured linear, which leads to the same instances gathering together as more as possible. Meanwhile, different class instances are as far as possible from each other in penalty picture. Since LLE is an unsupervised method, not enhance visual clustering classification ability, so compact figure within the class to consider the sample class information, can sample the same category as compact. In this method, the smallest size instance issue was tackled by the employment of MMC and the neighborhood relationship can be better described by an adequate improvement of the adjacency matrix. The effectiveness of algorithm proposed by this paper is present by a large amount of experiences in the standard face databases of Yale, AR and ORL facial data.

      • A Quality Analysis Model of Computer Software System Based on Fuzzy Information Content

        Developing computer software system is a crucial part of the intelligent design. In order to solve problems presented in software system quality analysis, this paper proposes a quality analysis model for computer software system based on fuzzy information content. In this model, fuzzy information content of quality analysis indicators is defined according to information axiom, and a software system quality analysis index system is constructed with the basic layer, the support layer and the application layer considered. With the index system, fuzzy information content can be computed and analyzed to obtain fuzzy information content of computer software system. This facilitates the quantitative analysis on the quality of the software system. Finally, an engineering case study is introduced to explain how the model works and proves efficacy and feasibility of the model.

        Error estimates of RT1 mixed methods for distributed optimal control problems

        In this paper, we investigate the error estimates of a quadratic elliptic control problem with pointwise control constraints. The state and the co-state variables are approximated by the order k = 1 Raviart-Thomas mixed finite element and the control variable is discretized by piecewise linear but discontinuous functions. Approximations of order h 3 2 in the L2-norm and order h in the L∞-norm for the control variable are proved.

        A posteriori L∞ (L2)-error estimates of semidiscrete mixed finite element methods for hyperbolic optimal control problems

        In this paper, we discuss the a posteriori error estimates of the semidiscrete mixed finite element methods for quadratic optimal control problems governed by linear hyperbolic equations. The state and the co-state are discretized by the order k Raviart-Thomas mixed finite element spaces and the control is approximated by piecewise polynomials of order k(k≥0). Using mixed elliptic reconstruction method, a posteriori L∞ (L2)-error estimates for both the state and the control approximation are derived. Such estimates, which are apparently not available in the literature, are an important step towards developing reliable adaptive mixed finite element approximation schemes for the control problem.

        In this paper, we consider the error estimates of the numerical solutions of a class of fourth order linear-quadratic elliptic optimal control problems by using mixed finite element methods. The state and co-state are approximated by the order k Raviart-Thomas mixed finite element spaces and the control variable is approximated by piecewise polynomials of order k (k≥1). L2 and L∞-error estimates are derived for both the control and the state approximations. These results are seemed to be new in the literature of the mixed finite element methods for fourth order elliptic control problems.

        Feedback Analysis of Transcutaneous Energy Transmission with a Variable Load Parameter

        The transcutaneous energy transmission system (TETS) composed of a Class-E amplifier may operate at a state away from the optimum power transmission due to the load variation. By introducing the feedback-loop technique, the TETS can keep the optimum state with constant output voltage by adjusting the important design parameters, that is, the duty ratio and frequency of the driving signal and the supply voltage. The relations between these adjusted parameters and the load are investigated. The effectiveness of the feedback technique is validated through a design example with a variable load parameter. The experimental results show that the Class-E amplifier in the feedback loop can keep operating at the optimum state under the condition of up to 50 percent variation of the load value.

        Experimental Study on the Pipe-Soil Interface under the Influence of Pipe Jacking Stagnation Time

        In the process of long-distance and large-diameter pipe jacking, thixotropic mud is generally injected into the outer surface of the pipe wall to reduce the frictional resistance between the pipe and the soil. The process of pipe jacking may be stopped due to various reasons such as pipe rupture and equipment damage. When the pipe is restarted after being stopped for a period of time, the interface mechanical properties usually change substantially, resulting in a substantial increase in frictional resistance compared to before the stop. However, the mechanical properties and shear mechanism of the pipe-soil interface after jacking is restarted have not been sufficiently investigated. In this paper, a series of gravelly sand-concrete direct shear tests are carried out, in which lubricant is injected into the interface between gravelly sand and concrete, and the effect of construction stagnation time is considered. The mechanical properties of the interface when the concrete pipe is restarted after stagnation is studied by the direct shear tests. The results show that the friction coefficient of pipe-soil interface increases with the stagnation time, which is determined by the thixotropic mud state and the content of gravelly sand involved in shear. In a short period of stagnation, the friction coefficient is determined by the cohesion caused by thixotropic mud and the friction angle produced by the gravelly sand involved in the shearing action. With the increase of stagnation time, the friction angle gradually becomes the decisive factor for the increase of friction coefficient.
