AgNi@ZnO nanorods grown on graphene as an anodic catalyst for direct glucose fuel cells
Thoa Thi Kim Huynh,Thao Quynh Ngan Tran,윤현희,김우재,김일태 한국화학공학회 2019 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.36 No.7
Nano carbon-semiconductor hybrid materials such as graphene and zinc oxide (ZnO) have been vigorously explored for their direct electron transfer properties and high specific surface areas. We fabricated a three-dimensional anodic electrode catalyst nanostructure for a direct glucose fuel cell (DGFC) utilizing two-dimensional monolayer graphene and one-dimensional ZnO nanorods, which accommodate silver/nickel (Ag/Ni) nanoparticle catalyst. Glucose, as an unlimited and safe natural energy resource, has become the most popular fuel for energy storage. Ag and Ni nanoparticles, having superior catalytic activities and anti-poisoning effect, respectively, demonstrate a 73-times enhanced cell performance (550 W cm2 or 8mW mg1) when deposited on zinc oxide nanorods with a small amount of ~0.069 mg in 0.5M of glucose and 1M of KOH solution at 60 oC. This three-dimensional anodic electrode catalyst nanostructure presents promise to open up a new generation of fuel cells with non-Pt, low mass loading of catalyst, and 3D nanostructure electrodes for high electrochemical performances.
Organ-on-a-Chip: The Future of Therapeutic Aptamer Research?
Tran Thoa Thi Thanh,Delgado Antonio,정세훈 한국바이오칩학회 2021 BioChip Journal Vol.15 No.2
The aptamer, known as a chemical antibody, has proven to be of high diagnostic and therapeutic value with the FDA’s first aptamer drug in 2004 and many aptamers under clinical validation. However, the clinical translation of aptamer for therapeutics has been delayed because of the limitation of using the target model during selection and a lack of information on several crucial factors, including their inherent physicochemical characterization and safety, and the function. Three-dimensional (3D) structure tissue provides proof of in-depth functionality due to their maturity and 3D complexity, enabling them to get information on the natural structure of the target for human treatment. The organ-on-a-chip integrates microfl uidic technology with 3D cell culture that possesses in vivo-like tissue-based models that have been engineered for validation to transform the commercial drug discovery. Thus, the organ-on-a-chip may off er a promising solution for the addressed problems, enhancing the clinical translation procedure for aptamer-based therapeutics. Motivated by the advantageous function of the aptamerbased organ-on-a-chip system, we update the current technology to generate aptamers using SELEX (Systematic Evolution of Ligands by EXponential Enrichment) and confi rm the application of aptamers to various long-term treatments. We can also accurately analyze the advantages of organ-on-a-chips and present the necessity of developing aptamer-based organon-a-chip systems. In this regard, the aptamer-based organ-on-a-chip is expected to increase the possibility of creating an aptamer as a therapeutic agent by more accurately selecting and verifying the aptamer that aff ects specifi c organ treatment.

Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa,주동범(Ju, Dong-Beom) 한국비교교육학회 2021 比較敎育硏究 Vol.31 No.2
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to provide the overview of the development of lifelong education in the new context, to present the current status of the lifelong education system in both Korea and Vietnam in the context of a national policy to build a learning society, and to give some suggestions for the national direction and policy for developing lifelong educational practices of Vietnam based on Korea’s lifelong education system. Methods: The main methods for the study were a literature review and a theoretical research. Using these methods, the study examined the development of lifelong educcation in the new context. And it explored the characteristics of education and lifelong learning in both Korea and Vietnam. It also evaluated the lifelong education system in Vietnam. Basd on these overviews, it provided some suggestions to promote lifelong learning and education paradigm in Vietnam. Results: The findings of the study showed that Vietnam’s lifelong education have achieved significant progress over the past many years in buiding a learning society, broadening the scope of education, and diversifying the educational paradigm. But it still lacks the systematic and legal framework. Some proposals have been suggested to develop Vietnam’s lifelong educational practice based on the Korean lifelong education system. Conclusion: Lifelong education has remained a strategic goal in Vietnam’s policies and guidelines. It has been framed as the direction of educational reform and Vietnam has gradually develped a comprehensive vision for a continuous education system premised on the ideals of lifelong education and learning. Nevertheles, the lifelong education in Vietnam is still in its initial stage. Lifelong education in Vietnam needs a paradigm with a detailed and coherent design.

[Purpose] This study examined the impact of family background, school experience, and academic efficacy on academic achievement of college students in Vietnam. [Methods] A research model was derived based on previous research, and data was collected from 415 respondents through an online survey conducted in Vietnam in December 2022, and the collected data was analyzed using SPSS 22 and AMOS 25 software. This study used frequency, descriptive statistics, structural equation model analysis, and mediating variable processing techniques as data analysis methods. [Results] Family background was found to have a statistically significant effect on the school experience, academic efficacy, and academic achievement of Vietnamese college students. And academic efficacy was found to have a statistically significant effect on academic achievement. Additionally, academic efficacy was found to play a statistically significant mediating role in the relationship between family background and academic achievement. On the other hand, academic experience among school experiences was found to have a statistically significant impact on academic achievement, but non-academic experience was found to have no statistically significant impact on academic achievement. And school experience did not appear to play a statistically significant mediating role in the relationship between family background and academic achievement. [Conclusion] The results of this study contribute to the academic literature and provide information to educators, especially academic counselors in Vietnamese higher education institutions, about the mediating role of academic efficacy in the relationship between family background and academic achievement. Educators need to consider ways to offset the influence of family background on academic achievement by examining the mediating role of universities.
