Effect of impeller inlet and passage meridional shapes on screw centrifugal pump performance

A screw centrifugal pump is a kind of non-clog type pump and has been widely used, for instance, for drainage of rainwater as well as slurries and mud in sewage control systems. Because of combining the advantages of screw pump and centrifugal pump, the screw centrifugal pump is one of the sewage pump having the best pump performance. However, the traditional design method of screw centrifugal pump shows relatively low efficiency. Besides the new screw centrifugal pump design method, in this study, the flow passage has important role that influences ability of transportation, as well as, the pump performance. The flow passage has been established by the parameters of pump meridional shape (inlet and outlet diameter, total axis length, inlet and outlet angle, inclination angle). This study indicates that each important parameter of meridional shape effects on screw centrifugal pump performance. [그림 본문 참조]
