Korea affected by socioeconomic outcomes of the global financial crisis since late 1990’s and until today, Korea having social issues- baby boomer faces retirement, unemployment, a sudden slack in self-employed, youth unemployment, environmental (industrial) pollution and lack of preparation for old age. Therefore, the government announced ‘Return farmer support’ policy for balanced national development and regional community design and according to official statistics, last year, 2014, the number of families moving to rural areas reached 44,586. This study using utilization of closed school facilities in rural community and provide farming information, practical training to ensure a stable settlement for people who moving rural areas from the city. Reusing closed school reflecting location, space, culture, connectivity of farming and this study for effectivse educational facilities’ space planning.

Recently, the genetic modification of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) has led to increased differentiation potential. For the therapeutic application of genetically modified MSCs, it is crucial to evaluate their characteristics and safety. In this study, we investigated the effects of bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP2) gene transfer on the characteristics and biodistribution of human MSCs. Lentiviral-mediated BMP2 transduction to MSCs enhanced osteocyte differentiation and decreased adipocyte differentiation. Although there is no significant difference in cell proliferation capacity, MSCs transduced BMP2 proliferate somewhat higher than nontransduced or GFP transduced MSCs. No significant changes were observed in surface antigen expression in genetically modified MSCs. In vivo transplantation of lentiviral-mediated BMP2 gene transferred MSCs to nude mice did not result in tumor formation. To evaluate the biodistribution of genetically modified cells, MSCs carrying BMP2 were injected into the tail vein of femur fractured mice. The introduced MSCs were detected in the spleen, testis and fractured femur 28 days post-implantation. These findings suggest that diverse safety tests for genetically modified MSCs should be considered, particularly when a lentivirus mediated gene transfer method is used.
The Differential Immunomodulating Effects of Levan and DFA-IV on Macrophage Function

Di-D-fructose-2,6':6,2'-dianhydride (DFA-IV) is a disaccharide consisting of two fructose residues that are prepared from levan by levan fructotransferase. Levan is a homopolysaccharide composed of D-fructofuranosyl residues joined by $\beta$-(2,6) and $\beta$-(2,1) linkages. We compared the immunomodulatory effects of levan with DFA-IV. Tumoricidal activity, phagocytosis and nitric oxide (NO) production were examined in levan- and DFA-IV-treated RAW264.7 cells. The NO production, tumoricidal and phagocytic activities were significantly increased in both treated cells. The results indicate that levan has significantly greater effects on tumoricidal activity than DFA-IV at low concentrations (1 ${\mu}g/mL$) and its effect on NO production shows a similar pattern. These results suggest that tumoricidal activity induced by both samples is mediated by NO production.

<P>Optical fibers can be a medium to produce Cerenkov light due to their dielectric components, and radiation-induced light signals can be obtained using optical fibers without any scintillating material. In this study, we measured and characterized gamma-ray induced Cerenkov light in silica optical fibers, a plastic optical fiber, and a plastic wavelength shifting fiber in order to select the adequate optical fiber for producing Cerenkov light. Also, we measured the intensity of Cerenkov light as functions of irradiated length, irradiation angle, and thickness of various scatterers using the chosen optical fiber.</P>
한국철도공사 경영성과에 미치는 서비스 요인분석 -철도통계연보 데이터를 대상으로-

본 연구 목적은 1990년 이후 2019년까지의 철도서비스 공급자인 철도청과 한국철도공사의 ‘철도통계연보’ 자료에 근거하여 서비스 요인을 도출하고, 그 서비스 요인이 철도수송 서비스 공급자의 대표적 경영성과 변수인 영업이익률에 미친 영향을 분석하고자 함에 있다. 특히, 한국철도공사 출범 이후인 2004년을 기점으로 전기(1990년~2003년)와 후기(2004년~2019년)로 연구 시기를 구분하여, 최근 10여년 간의 한국철도공사의 경영혁신이 공사로의 설립 목적에 부합하는 변화를 보였는지를 평가하는 실증적 연구라는 차원에서 학술적 의미가 있다. 본 연구 내용은 철도여객수송 서비스 품질에 관한 선행연구를 조사하고 한국철도공사의 경영성과 평과와 관련된 정부 발표자료 내용을 분석하였다. 실증분석 모델로서 분석기간 29년 동안의 철도여객수송 서비스 공급자의 운영·경영 활동 정보를 기초로 영업이익률을 종속변수로, 그리고 기반성, 경제성, 안전성, 연계성, 사업다양성의 서비스 요인변수를 설명변수로 이용하여 연구모형을 구축하였다. 연구 분석 결과에서 영업이익률은 기반성 요인이 구조적 개혁 또는 효율성 개선으로 향상된다는 점이다. 그리고 경제성 요인은 원가를 절감함으로써 영업이익률이 향상된다는 사실이다. 안전성 요인은 회귀계수의 유의한 설명력을 밝히지는 못하였지만, 그 영향력 부호는 예측과 같았다. 연결성 요인은 KTX 서비스 개시 전후, 변수가 미치는 영향력 차이가 드러났는데, 영업이익률에 미치는 영향력 방향이 전기에는 부에서 후기에는 정으로 변하였다. 이는 후기에 연결성 효과가 실제로 발휘될 수 있는 환경이었다고 해석된다. 수입다양성 요인은 종속기업투자지분과 정부보조금의 효과가 경영성과에 나타나지 않았다는 점도 확인된다. The purpose of this study is to derive service factors based on the “Rail Statistical Yearbook” data of railroad service providers from 1990 to 2019, and to analyze the effect of the service factors on the operating profit ratio(OPR), a representative management performance variable of railroad transport service providers. In particular, it has academic significance in terms of empirical research to evaluate whether the management innovation of the KoRail has changed in line with the purpose of establishing the corporation by dividing the research period into the first period (1990-2003) and the latter (2004-2019). The contents of this study investigated previous studies on the quality of railway passenger transportation service and analyzed the contents of government presentation data related to the management performance evaluation of the KoRail. As an empirical analysis model, a research model was constructed using OPR as a dependent variable and service factor variables of infrastructure, economy, safety, connectivity, and business diversity as explanatory variables based on the operation and management activity information during the analysis period 30 years. On the results of research analysis, OPR is that the infrastructure factor is improved by structural reform or efficiency improvement. And economic factors are the fact that operating profit ratio improves by reducing costs. The safety factor did not reveal the significant explanatory power of the regression coefficient, but the sign of influence was the same as the prediction. Connectivity factor reveals a influence on differences between first period and latter, but OPR impact direction is changed from negative in before to positive in late. This is an evironment in which connectivity is actually realized in later period. On diversity factor, there is no effect of investment share in subsidiaries and government subsidies on OPR.
Synthesis of Titanium Carbide by Thermo-Chemical Methods with TiH2 and Carbon Black Powders

A new synthesizing method for producing submicron TiC powders was studied by using TiH2 and carbon black powders. It is well known that hydrogen absorption transforms titanium from metal (h.c.p.) to brittle hydride (f.c.c.) powders by ball-milling. This research focused on obtaining submicron-sized TiC powders from the ball-milled mixture of TiH2 and carbon black by thermal treatment. The hydrogen, carbon, iron, and oxygen composition changes in the mixed powders were analyzed. Thereafter, a differential thermal analysis (DTA) test was performed to observe change of phase with ball-milling time. The TiC powders were obtained by heat treating the powders milled for 5 h at various temperatures (600-1200℃). The phase microstructure was investigated via DTA, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The mixture milled for 2 h had an f.c.t. structure containing 66.73 at.%H transformed to f.c.c. by milling for 4 h. After 5h of ball-milling, submicron-sized particles of 273 nm were obtained. At the isothermal heat-treating temperature of 500℃, the Ti single phase was formed completely, and the TiC phase of lattice parameter 0.310 nm was completely formed over the temperature of 1000℃.
