      • ZnO/TiO₂ 박막 제작과 유전율 특성

        김창석,최창주,이우선,오무송,김태성,김병인 조선대학교 에너지.자원신기술연구소 2001 에너지·자원신기술연구소 논문지 Vol.23 No.2

In this study, ZnO is evaporated to be coated on n-type Si wafer substrate. Refractive coefficient of thin film that is evaporating TiO₂onto ZnO increases linearly as thickness is getting thinner to have high value and high angle and it satisfies theoretical equation I(x)=Io exp (-αx) theory that represents the strength of photon energy advancing through ZnO thin film. And dielectric constant of TiO₂thin film evaporated onto ZnO is high and ε₂ is smaller than ε₁. The specimen TiO₂thin film evaporated onto ZnO has much higher dielectric constant when photon energy is increased.

Utilization of lyophilized platelet-rich plasma in esthetic facial treatment

        Teh-Yang Cheng 대한미용의학회 2020 대한미용의학회지 Vol.4 No.2

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has a variety of functions. Activated platelets release various growth factors and are involved in the tissue repair process. Growth factors from platelets induce fibroblast activation, which produces a new extracellular matrix and collagen. The PRP treatment has been widely used in many surgical and medical fields. However, uncertainties in the quality of the PRP preparation may cause unpredictability in the treatment results. The standardized separation method with quantization of lyophilized platelet-rich plasma (L-PRP) might enhance treatment accuracy. After processing in central laboratory, L-PRP is packed in vials in powder form and readily used immediately after reconstitution. We utilized clinical photography, Visia, DermaLab USB, and histology examination to compare the results before and after treatments. Besides improvements in clinical photos and Visia scores, ultrasound images showed obvious increasing in collagen densities in dermal and subcutaneous layers. The histology study suggested increased collagen formation but without signs of fibrotic change or foreign body reaction. The elastin stain suggested an increased elastic fiber density. The improvement noted by the instruments and histology findings correlated with the improvement of skin texture, decreased wrinkles, and positive clinical outcomes. These results highlight L-PRP’s potential as an efficient and convenient process compared to the original PRP in skin rejuvenation treatment.

A survey on touch dynamics authentication in mobile devices

        Teh, P.S.,Zhang, N.,Teoh, A.B.J.,Chen, K. North-Holland ; Elsevier Science Ltd 2016 Computers & security Vol.59 No.-

<P>There have been research activities in the area of keystroke dynamics biometrics on physical keyboards (desktop computers or conventional mobile phones) undertaken in the past three decades. However, in terms of touch dynamics biometrics on virtual keyboards (modem touchscreen mobile devices), there has been little published work. Particularly, there is a lack of an extensive survey and evaluation of the methodologies adopted in the area. Owing to the widespread use of touchscreen mobile devices, it is necessary for us to examine the techniques and their effectiveness in the domain of touch dynamics biometrics. The aim of this paper is to provide some insights and comparative analysis of the current state of the art in the topic area, including data acquisition protocols, feature data representations, decision making techniques, as well as experimental settings and evaluations. With such a survey, we can gain a better understanding of the current state of the art, thus identifying challenging issues and knowledge gaps for further research. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd. Changes in the fractal dimension of peri-implant trabecular bone after loading: a retrospective study

        Teh-Jing Mu,이동원,박광호,문익상 대한치주과학회 2013 Journal of Periodontal & Implant Science Vol.43 No.5

Purpose: To assess bony trabecular changes potentially caused by loading stress around dental implants using fractal dimension analysis. Methods: Fractal dimensions were measured in 48 subjects by comparing radiographs taken immediately after prosthesis delivery with those taken 1 year after functional loading. Regions of interest were isolated, and fractal analysis was performed using the box-counting method with Image J 1.42 software. Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to analyze the difference in fractal dimension before and after implant loading. Results: The mean fractal dimension before loading (1.4213±0.0525) increased significantly to 1.4329±0.0479 at 12 months after loading (P<0.05). Conclusions: Fractal dimension analysis might be helpful in detecting changes in peri-implant alveolar trabecular bone patterns in clinical situations.

      • Determinants of Choice of Surgery in Asian Patients with Early Breast Cancer in A Middle Income Country

        Teh, Yew-Ching,Shaari, Nor Elina Noor,Taib, Nur Aishah,Ng, Char-Hong,See, Mee-Hoong,Tan, Gie-Hooi,Jamaris, Suniza,Yip, Cheng-Har Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.7

Background: Breast-conserving surgery (BCS) plus radiotherapy is equivalent to modified radical mastectomy (MRM) in terms of outcome. However there is wide variation in mastectomy rates dependent both on tumour and patient characteristics. Objective: This study aimed to assess the determinants of surgery choice in Asian patients with early breast cancer in a middle-income country. Materials and Methods: 184 patients with early breast cancer treated between Jan 2008 and Dec 2010 were recruited to complete a questionnaire. Chi-square test was used to analyze the association between surgery choice and demographic and tumour factors, surgeon recommendation, family member and partner opinions, fear of recurrence, avoidance of second surgery, fear of disfigurement, interference with sex life, fear of radiation and loss of femininity. Results: 85 (46%) had BCS while 99 (54%) had mastectomy. Age >60, Chinese ethnicity, lower education level, and larger tumour size were significantly associated with mastectomy. Surgeon recommendation was important in surgery choice. Although both groups did not place much importance on interference with sex life, 14.1% of the BCS group felt it was very important compared to 5.1% in the mastectomy group and this was statistically significant. There was no statistical difference between the two groups in terms of the other factors. When analyzed by ethnicity, significantly more Malay and Indian women considered partner and family member opinions very important and were more concerned about loss of femininity compared to Chinese women. There were no statistical differences between the three ethnic groups in terms of the other factors. Conclusions: When counseling on surgical options, the surgeon has to take into account the ethnicity, social background and education level, age and reliance on partner and family members. Decision-making is usually a collective effort rather than just between the patient and surgeon, and involving the whole family into the process early is important.

Plant Regeneration from Leaf Explants of Kalanchoe daigremontiana Hamet & Perrier

        Teh-Ryung Kim,Jun-Gyo In,Deok-Chun Yang,Kwan-Sam Choi 韓國藥用作物學會 2006 한국약용작물학회지 Vol.14 No.5

Optimum culture conditions for high frequency plant regeneration from leaf explants of Kalanchoe daigremontiana Hamet &Perrier were established. Shoot regeneration was achieved from leaf explant cultures using MS medium supplemented with indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and thidiazuron (TDZ) or benzyladenine (BA). Percent regeneration was influenced by plant growth regulators and source of explants. MS medium supplemented with TDZ (1.0 mg/l) and IAA (0.4 mg/l) was the most effective, providing shoot regeneration for 76.7 % of ex vitro leaf explants associated with a high number of shoots per explant (9.5 mean shoots per explant), whereas 100% shoot regeneration associated with 12.4 shoots per explant occurred from in vitro leaf explants on the same medium. Clusters of shoots were multiplied and elongated on MS medium containing several concentrations of BA. MS medium supplemented with 0.25 mg/l BA was proved as the most effective shoot elongation medium. Elongated shoots (2-3 cm) were rooted at 100% on half-strength MS medium. Rooted plantlets were then transferred to potting soil. Regenerated plants were established in the soil with 90% success.
