        Analysis of Perceived Determinants in Customer Service Quality: Focused on A utomotive Air Conditioning Service C enters

        Purpose: The objective of this paper was to determine the actual needs of customers in 3 groups: passenger cars, buses, and truck refrigerators who bring their vehicles to the Service Center to be air conditioner repaired. Design/methodology/approach: We investigated at how variables including service quality (technician skill, service process, and overall quality), customer satisfaction (facility, responsiveness, and satisfaction), and customer loyalty (repeat orders, loyalty) influence customer perceptions. The primary data comes from a questionnaire of 425 customers. Before being analyzed with Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), it was first tested for reliability using Cronbach alpha, CR, and AVE, all of the questionnaires are reliable. Findings: According to the CFA findings, customer perception has a 95 % confidence impact on customer satisfaction. Following that, a separate analysis of the 3 types of customers was conducted to determine the level of confidence in service quality. Ordinal logistic regression was used to conduct a statistical analysis for a Likert scale question, and it was discovered that customers of passenger cars and buses were more confidence and satisfied with their services than truck refrigerator. Research limitations/implications: There were complexity and uncertainty on this study, but each one led to innovative thinking. Due to prior research, there were no additional studies conducted in the context of automobile, bus, or truck air conditioning repair services. The literature review is so challenging as a result. Given the respondents were drivers, their ideas and opinions may have been clouded during data collecting. Only concentrate on surveys for corporate owners or executives if precise data is required. Originality/value: This focused for discrepancies between perceived significance and satisfaction in hopes of identifying managerial issues related to how well customers perceive the quality of service. It is demonstrated by considering the value of each service-related characteristic. Also, this study shows that CEOs should concentrate on creating service practices that will attract customers towards the service center.

        "I`m Bad at Grammar": Self-Deprecation in Undergraduate Peer Tutoring

        Tara E. Tarpey(2012), "``I`m Bad at Grammar``: Self-Deprecation in Undergraduate Peer Tutoring," Language & Information Society 16. This study explores how one tutor treats self-deprecatory assessments offered by tutees during peer tutoring sessions in an undergraduate writing center. Video-recorded data of two hour-long tutoring sessions were collected at the writing center of a major university in New York City and analyzed using the framework of conversation analysis. The data reveal that the tutor orients to tutee self-deprecations differently depending on the phase of the tutoring session. That is, during the diagnostic phase of the tutoring sessions, the tutor acknowledges and often disagrees with self-deprecations. However, during the directive phase, the tutor ignores or sequentially deletes self-deprecations by initiating a new adjacency pair. The contribution of institutionality to these findings will be discussed.

        For the development of potential anticancer agents, We designed and synthesized 30 new 2,4-diaryl-5H-indeno[1,2-ь]pyridine derivatives containing aryl moiery such as furyl, thienyl, Pyridyl, and phenyl at 2-and 4-position of 5H-indeno[1,2-ь]pyridine. They were avaluated for topoisomerase I and ll inhibitory activity, and cytotoxicity against several human cancer cell lines. Among prepared 30 compounds, 7,8,9,10,12,14,16,19,20,22, and 23 with 2-or 3-thienyl either at 2-or 4-position of central pyridine showed the significant or moderate topoisomerase ll inhibitory activity. Compoumds 7,8,11,12,13, and 22 with 2-furyl, 2-thienyl or 3-thienyl at 2-position of central pyridine showed the significant or moderate topoisomerase I inhibitory activity. Especially. compound 12 with strong topoisomerase ll inhibitory activity at 100 um and 20 um. and moderate topoisomerase I inhibitory activity displayed strong cytotoxicity against several human cancer cell lines. ⓒ 2014 Elsevier Ltd.         How community-based forest management can improve rural livelihoods : A case of Kabhre district, Nepal

        Community forestry (CF) is a government-adopted forest management practice introduced in Nepal in the late 1970s, in which the local community controls a legally defined area of forest in terms of its management and the conservation and utilization of forest products. In Nepal, CF is one of the most successful strategies for managing natural resources with the active participation of rural communities. The overall objective of this study was to determine how to improve the utilization of forest products and rural livelihoods through CF. The analysis was carried out through a household survey,using a random sampling, along with formal and informal discussions with concerned parties. The results showed that CF was effective in improving sustainable forest resources for rural livelihoods. CF income comes from forestry and nonforestry sources, and it is invested in various activities such as community development and forest management. These activities also improve rural people’s livelihood and foster social development.

      • Modified 2,4-diaryl-5H-indeno[1,2-b]pyridines with hydroxyl and chlorine moiety: Synthesis, anticancer activity, and structure-activity relationship study

        As a part of ongoing studies in developing novel anticancer agents, a series of modified 2,4-diaryl-5H-indeno[1.2-b )pyridines were designed. and synthesized by introducing hydroxyl and chlo-rine moieties. They were evaluated for topoisomerase inhibitory activity and cytotoxicity against HCT15. T47D. and HeLa cancer cell lines. This modification allowed us to demonstrate structure-activity relation-ship (SAR) study with respect to the non-substituted 2,4-diaryl-5H-indenoI1.2-b]pyridines. Compounds (2, 3, 4, S, 8, and 9) with meta or para hydroxyl group on 2 or 4-phenyl ring have enhanced topo I and II inhibitory activity and cytotoxicity. However. additional substitution of chlorine group on furyl or thie-nyl ring (11.12.14.16-18) generally reduced topo I and II inhibitory activity but improved cytotoxicity. The observation of cytotoxic properties and SAR study according to the position of hydroxyl and chlorine group will provide valuable insight for further study of development of novel anticancer agents with related scaffolds.

        Field-Observed Cracking of Paired Lightweight and Normalweight Concrete Bridge Decks

        Research has suggested that conventional lightweight concrete can offer durability advantages due to reduced cracking tendency. Although a number of publications exist providing the results of laboratory-based studies on the durability performance of lightweight concrete (with lightweight coarse aggregate) and internally cured concrete (using prewetted lightweight fine aggregate), far fewer field studies of durability performance of conventional lightweight concrete bridge decks in service have been performed. This study was commissioned to provide insight to a highway agency on whether enhanced durability performance, and therefore reduced maintenance and longer lifecycles, could be anticipated from existing lightweight concrete bridge decks that were not intentionally internally cured. To facilitate performance comparison, each lightweight bridge deck selected for inclusion in this study was paired with a companion normalweight bridge deck on a bridge of similar structural type, deck thickness, and geometric configuration, with similar age, traffic, and environmental exposure. The field-observed cracking of the decks was recorded and evaluated, and crack densities for transverse, longitudinal, and pattern cracking of the normalweight and lightweight deck in each pair were compared. Although some trends linking crack prevalence to geographic location, traffic, and age were observed, a distinct difference between the cracking present in the paired lightweight and normalweight bridge decks included in this study was not readily evident. Statistical analysis using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) to adjust for age and traffic influence did not indicate that the type of concrete deck (lightweight or normalweight) is a statistically significant factor in the observed cracking. Therefore, for these service environments, lightweight decks did not consistently demonstrate reduced cracking.

      • Study and Development of Next-Generation Optical Networks

        Next-generation optical networks are expected to provide tremendous capacity in order to support upcoming traffic increases. Many technologies are currently being developed for optical transport networks in order to increase throughput, improve energy efficiency and simplify network deployment. The most important problem in current optical networks is transmission of Internet protocol (IP) traffic. Regardless of the tremendous throughput with optical fibers, switching nodes still limit overall network performance. Recently, optical burst switching technology has been developed to overcome this problem. Optical burst switching combines the advantages of both circuit switching and packet switching networks and provides good performance in terms of packet data transmission. Even though optical burst switching networks provide a good mechanism for IP traffic transmission, overall performance is still limited because of access networks. Existing passive optical networks based on Ethernet technology are not fully compatible with optical burst switching, which results in bottlenecks on the border between transport and access networks. In this paper, we present a new method of optical wavelength time-division multiple access (OWTDMA) for passive optical networks. The proposed approach can provide outstanding scalability of network resources and can increase throughput of the optical access network. In addition, we propose implementation of OWTDMA in edge nodes of optical burst switching networks to eliminate bottlenecks between transport and access networks. Simulation results prove the advantage of our proposed approach.

        Skin in the game: the use of sensing smart fabrics in tennis costume as a means of analyzing performance

        Underlying the surface decoration and cut of contemporary tennis costume is a fabric that enacts its own performance and studies the athlete who wears it. Whilst designers such as Teddy Tinling created tennis costumes that brought glamour and theatrical flair to the player’s performance, modern sports companies are increasingly using costume to approach human performance from a big data perspective. In the late nineteenth century, women playing tennis wore corsets and long skirts which impeded movement; today, the top players utilize fabric science that enables costume to control and record the temperature, sweat and muscle movement of the performer, whilst also presenting a vehicle to showcase their personality through their aesthetic choices. Smart fabrics allow for greater and more precise control over how our bodies perform, and they similarly alter our understanding of materiality and bodily presence with regards to fashion. The use of smart fabrics in sports, where the patterns of data collected by the costume visually and numerically display the conditions of the player/performance, holds potential for the ways in which we interrogate the interrelationship of clothing and performance across a range of arenas. For fashion research this means it is now possible not just to look at a costume but to look through it, via biometric capture, to a performance realized in data space. It is this duality of costume both in and as performance space that provokes this article to raise questions about the changeable nature of smart clothing and its relationship to the sporting body.

        Application of a novel 3-fluid nozzle spray drying process for the microencapsulation of therapeutic agents using incompatible drug-polymer solutions

        The aim of this study was to evaluate a novel3-fluid concentric nozzle (3-N) spray drying process for themicroencapsulation of omeprazole sodium (OME) usingEudragit L100 (EL100). Feed solutions containing OMEand/or EL100 in ethanol were assessed visually for OMEstability. Addition of OME solution to EL100 solutionresulted in precipitation of OME followed by degradationof OME reflected by a colour change from colourless topurple and brown. This was related to the low pH of 2.8 ofthe EL100 solution at which OME is unstable. Precipitationand progressive discoloration of the 2-fluid nozzle (2-N)feed solution was observed over the spray drying timecourse. In contrast, 3-N solutions of EL100 or OME inethanol were stable over the spray drying period. Microparticlesprepared using either nozzle showed similarcharacteristics and outer morphology however the internalmorphology was different. DSC showed a homogenousmatrix of drug and polymer for 2-N microparticles while3-N microparticles had defined drug and polymer regionsdistributed as core and coat. The results of this studydemonstrate that the novel 3-N spray drying process canallow the microencapsulation of a drug using an incompatiblepolymer and maintain the drug and polymer inseparate regions of the microparticles.
