The ovarian follicular fluid was found to contain steroidogenesis stimulatory protein similar to albumin from human and buffalo. Therefore, the albumins from various species, commercial and purified, were studied for their steroidogenic effect on progesterone secretion by granulosa cells from buffalo ovaries, during culture. A dose of $20{\mu}g$ of bovine serum albumin was optimum to exhibit maximum progesterone secretion on day 6 of culture, in medium ($350{\mu}l$) containing $10^5$ cells. Among commercial albumins, chicken albumin showed highest effect on progesterone secretion, which was followed by albumins from goat, bovine, human, sheep and rat, respectively at day 6 of culture. The albumins were also purified from blood serum of buffalo, goat and rat using salt fractionation, ion-exchange chromatography, gel filtration and SDS-PAGE. The highest stimulatory effect on progesterone secretion was shown by albumin purified from buffalo blood serum and lowest by that from rat blood. Comparatively the buffalo and goat albumins were more biologically active than commercial albumins. The presence of some active molecules conjugated with freshly purified albumins may be responsible for better stimulatory effect.
MRI Appearance of Florid Cystic Endosalpingiosis of the Uterus: a Case Report
Sangeeta Taneja,Ramandeep Sidhu,Anuj Khurana,R Sekhon,Anurag Mehta,Amarnath Jena 대한영상의학회 2010 Korean Journal of Radiology Vol.11 No.4
Endosalpingiosis is a non-neoplastic proliferation of ectopic tubal epithelium. It may be found incidentally or the patients may present with chronic pelvic pain. It may resemble a gynecologic malignancy on imaging findings and clinicians and radiologists should be aware of this benign entity to render a correct diagnosis and to avoid over-treatment. We report here the MR imaging appearance of a case of florid cystic endosalpingiosis.
Review On Channel Estimation For MIMO-OFDM SystemPayal Arora
Ashu Taneja 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Future Generation Communi Vol.9 No.5
The intention of this paper is to review the work that has been already done in the field of channel estimation in MIMO-OFDM system. With the continuous growth and the improvement of communication system, our aim is to review the current best techniques available for channel estimation and provide a comparative analysis. In order to achieve this objective, a simulation has been performed for using various channel estimation techniques. The main emphasis is laid on selection of a channel through which the signals are to be transmitted. This paper reviews the different types of channel estimation in MIMO system by varying the precoding and modulation techniques.

Background and Aims: The data regarding the treatment of chronic hepatitis C (CHC) in renal transplant recipients is lacking from the Asia-Pacific region. Aim of the present study was to assess the safety and efficacy of directly acting antivirals (DAAs) in the treatment of CHC infection in renal transplant recipients. Methods: A total of 47 HCV infected renal transplant recipients were enrolled in this real life observational cohort analysis between March 2015 and September 2016. Presence of hepatic fibrosis/cirrhosis was assessed on transient elastography (Fibroscan). Fourteen patients were treated with Sofosbuvir and Ribavirin for 24 weeks. Twenty-two patients received Sofosbuvir and Ledipasvir and twelve patients received Sofosbuvir and Daclatasvir with (n=3) or without (n=31) Ribavirin for 12 or 24 weeks depending on genotype and underlying cirrhosis. Data was analyzed for safety and treatment efficacy [sustained virological response at 12 weeks (SVR12)]. Results: The mean baseline HCV RNA concentration in the whole group was 7.38 x 106 IU/ml (1.23 x 104- 6.36 X 107). The SVR12 rates were 100% in all groups except in the Sofosbuvir and Ribavirin group (86%). Transient Elastography revealed minimal or no fibrosis (F0-F1) in 31 (65.96%) patients, moderate fibrosis (F2) in 11 (23.4%) patients and cirrhosis in 5 (10.64%) patients. The only serious adverse effect was anemia observed in 8 (57%) patients in the Sofosbuvir and Ribavirin group. Conclusions: DAAs including Sofosbuvir, Daclatasvir and Ledipasvir with or without ribavirin are safe and effective for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C in renal transplant recipients

New tetrazole fused imidazopyridine derivatives (12a–j) were developed to exploit their cytotoxic activity towards cancer cell lines-MCF7, A549, and MDA-MB-231, utilizing MTT reduction assay with doxorubicin as standard drug. The compounds 12 h and 12j demonstrated strong anticancer activity bearing IC50 values 1.44 µM and 1.33 µM against A549 cell line.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Development of a foam-formed cellulose filter paper with high wet strength was carried out for application as a drinking water filter. The wet strength and antimicrobial activity of cellulose foam paper against several bacteria species (<I>Bacillus subtilis</I> MTCC 441 (Gram +ve), <I>B. cereus</I> NCDC 240 (Gram +ve), <I>Pseudomonas aeruginosa</I> NCDC 105 (Gram −ve), <I>Klebsiella pneumonia</I> NCDC 138 (Gram −ve), and <I>Escherichia coli</I> MTCC 40 (Gram −ve)) were investigated. The morphology and structure of the cellulose foam paper were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results of our study confirmed that glutaraldehyde solution or 1,2,3,4-butanetetracarboxylic acid (BTCA) added to cellulose foam paper pretreated with cationic polyacrylamide (C-PAM) provided very high and stable wet strength performance together with excellent antimicrobial properties.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Development of novel porous cellulose foam filter paper. </LI> <LI> Improving wet strength using Glutaraldehyde and BTCA along with C-PAM. </LI> <LI> Evaluation of antibacterial activity against gram positive & negative bacteria. </LI> <LI> Morphological and structural analysis of developed paper using SEM. </LI> </UL> </P>

Objectives This objective of the study was to report the prevalence of internet addiction, sleep quality, depression, anxiety, and stress in undergraduate medical students. Methods A cross-sectional, questionnaire-based study was conducted among 221 undergraduate medical students at Government Doon Medical College, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Data pertaining to internet addiction, sleep quality, and depressive symptoms were also collected using validated and reliable questionnaires (Young Internet Addiction Test, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 21). Results The prevalence of poor sleep quality, severe anxiety, and severe depression was 33.9%, 7.3% and 3.6%, respectively. The place of residence was significantly associated (p = 0.006) with internet addiction. The mean Young Internet Addiction Test score was higher in students residing in hostels compared with students staying with families. Stress was associated with age. The mean stress score was higher in the age group 17–20 compared with the 21–24 age group. Stress and depression were independent predictors of sleep quality. Conclusion Quality sleep is the key for good health. Based on limited samples, this study showed that poor sleep quality was associated with stress and depression. Hence, continuous counselling is suggested for supporting students managing their stress and depression.
