On χ⊗η-Strong Connes Amenability of Certain Dual Banach Algebras

        Ebrahim Tamimi,Ali Ghaffari 한국수학교육학회 2024 純粹 및 應用數學 Vol.31 No.1

In this paper, the notions of strong Connes amenability for certain products of Banach algebras and module extension of dual Banach algebras is investigated. We characterize χ ⊗ η-strong Connes amenability of projective tensor product K⨶H via χ ⊗ η-σwc virtual diagonals, where χ ∈ K∗ and η ∈ H∗ are linear functionals on dual Banach algebras K and H, respectively. Also, we present some conditions for the existence of (χ, θ)-σwc virtual diagonals in the θ-Lau product of K ×_θ H. Finally, we characterize the notion of (χ, 0)-strong Connes amenability for module extension of dual Banach algebras K ⊕ X, where X is a normal Banach K-bimodule.

      • Factors for Better Adoption of Information Security on Custom-Made Software at SMEs: A Systematic Review and Framework

Fatimah Alghamdi,Moutasm Tamimi,Nermin Hamza International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2023 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.23 No.2

Investigations on information security factors re- main elusive at small and medium enterprises (SMEs), es- specially for custom-made software solutions. This article aims to investigate, classify, adopt factors from recent literature addressing information security resources. SMEs al- ready have information security in place, but they are not easy to adopt through the negotiation processes between the in-house software development companies and custom-made software clients at SMEs. This article proposes a strategic framework for implementing the process of adoption of the information security factors at SMEs after conducting a systematic snapshot approach for investigating and classifying the resources. The systematic snapshot was conducted using a search strategy with inclusion and exclusion criteria to retain 128 final reviewed papers from a large number of papers within the period of 2001-2022. These papers were analyzed based on a classification schema including management, organizational, development, and environmental categories in software development lifecycle (SDLC) phases in order to define new security factors. The reviewed articles addressed research gaps, trends, and common covered evidence-based decisions based on the findings of the systematic mapping. Hence, this paper boosts the broader cooperation between in-house software development companies and their clients to elicit, customize, and adopt the factors based on clients' demands.

The Effects of Intellectual Capital and Financial Leverage on Evaluating Market Performance

OBEIDAT, Samer,AL-TAMIMI, Khaled,HAJJAT, Emad Korea Distribution Science Association 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.3

This study aimed to identify the key factors that affect the financial market performance (Price-Earnings Model) through a sample of 35 public shareholding industrial companies on the Amman Stock Exchange for the period 2010-2019, using statistical models and methods, such as the Simple Linear Regression Model, Correlation Coefficient, and dispersion board. The study results showed the nonexistence of a statistically significant effect between the intellectual capital and market value added (MVA) and market performance. Results also showed a statistically significant positive effect between financial leverage (FL) and the market performance, where the interpreted variation reached 64%. It showed from the analysis results that the relationship between (MVA) and market performance (P/E) agrees with the study hypotheses, while the result related to (FL) disagrees with the study hypotheses. The study recommends that public shareholding industrial companies should focus more on intellectual capital and show its value in the annual financial statements and reports, and those companies that have high profitability and the chance to hold gains and profits should rely less on debt and more on retained earnings, due to the high risk of debt and in line with the present unstable circumstances in Jordan, especially in light of the global Covid-19 crisis.

      • Antiproliferative Properties of Methanolic Extract of Nigella sativa against the MDA-MB-231 Cancer Cell Line

Dilshad, Ahmad,Abulkhair, Omalkhair,Nemenqani, Dalal,Tamimi, Waleed Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.11

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women in the world and is one of the leading causes of death due to cancer. Health benefits have been linked to additive and synergistic combinations of phytochemicals in fruits and vegetables. Nigella sativa has been shown to possess anti-carcinogenic activity, inhibiting growth of several cancer cell lines in vitro. However, the molecular mechanisms of the anti-cancer properties of Nigella sativa phytochemical extracts have not been completely understood. Our data showed that Nigella sativa extracts significantly inhibited human breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cell proliferation at doses of $2.5-5{\mu}g/mL$ (P<0.05). Apoptotic induction in MDA-MB-231 cells was observed in a dose-dependent manner after exposure to Nigella sativa extracts for 48 h. Real time PCR and flow cytometry analyses suggested that Nigella sativa extracts possess the ability to suppress the proliferation of human breast cancer cells through induction of apoptosis.

One-shot synthesis of a nickel oxide/carbon composite electrocatalyst for a sensor capable of electrochemically detecting the antibiotic chloramphenicol in real samples

        Zoubir Jallal,Radaa Chaimae,Bakas Idriss,Tamimi Malika,Qourzal Samir,Assabbane Ali 한국탄소학회 2023 Carbon Letters Vol.33 No.3

In this study platform, electrocatalytic detection of the antibiotic chloramphenicol (CAP) in phosphate buffer (pH 7) was easily achieved using a carbon paste electrode modified with NiO nanoparticles (note NiO-CPE). The peak reduction potential of chloramphenicol on the modified electrode is at (− 0.60 V/NiO-CPE vs. Ag/AgCl), its electrochemical behavior is completely irreversible, and controlled by adsorption phenomena. An excellent electrocatalytic activity has been demonstrated by the modified elaborated electrode towards the NO2 attracting group on the side chain of chloramphenicol. The structure and chemical composition of the NiO-CPE sensor were analyzed by SEM, and the X-ray diffraction results indicated that nickel oxide microcrystals were formed on the carbon sheets. The electrochemical characteristics of the NiO-CPE sensor were examined by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in comparison with the unmodified carbon. Since the DPV technique allows plotting the linearity curve between the electrocatalytic current intensity of the Chloramphenicol peak and their concentration, the proposed sensor showed a remarkable detection limit of 1.08 × 10–8 mol/L M (S/N = 3) and a wide determination range from 100 to 0.1 µM for Chloramphenicol. The developed sensor was successfully applied in the detection of Chloramphenicol in real samples.

      • On propagation of elastic waves in an embedded sigmoid functionally graded curved beam

        Linyun Zhou,Zohre Moradi,Haneen M. Al-Tamimi,H. Elhosiny Ali 국제구조공학회 2022 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.44 No.1

This investigation studies the characteristics of wave dispersion in sigmoid functionally graded (SFG) curved beams lying on an elastic substrate for the first time. Homogenization process was performed with the help of sigmoid function and two power laws. Moreover, various materials such as Zirconia, Alumina, Monel and Nickel steel were explored as curved beams materials. In addition, curved beams were rested on an elastic substrate which was modelled based on Winkler Pasternak foundation. The SFG curved beams’ governing equations were derived according to Euler Bernoulli curved beam theory which is known as classic beam theory and Hamilton’s principle. The resulted governing equations were solved via an analytical method. In order to validate the utilized method, the obtained outcomes were compared with other researches. Finally, the influences of various parameters, including wave number, opening angle, gradient index, Winkler coefficient and Pasternak coefficient were evaluated and indicated in the form of diagrams.

      • Clauser : Clause Slicing Tool for C Programs

        Mohammad M. A. Abdallah,Hanadi A. Tamimi 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Software Engineering and Vol.10 No.3

The Clause slicing technique is a static slicing technique. The clause slice criterion is the clause, which is the smallest part of the code line, with the clause number. In this paper, we introduce the “Clauser,” which is a new clause slicing tool for C programs. The Clauser is a slicing tool that divides the program code lines into clauses, depending on certain rules, and then it slices the clauses by applying the rules of clause slicing and returns the slices of the slice criterion. Compared to other static slicing techniques, clause slicing is more accurate because it considers all code phrases that may affect the program flow. Implementation results showed that the Clauser succeeded in automating a part of clause slicing.

Treatment of adult Burkitt lymphoma with the CALGB 1002 protocol: a single center experience in Jordan

        Mohammad Ma’koseh,Rula Amarin,Faris Tamimi,Baha’ Sharaf,Alaa Abufara,Omar Shahin,Mohammed K. M. Manassra,Khalid Halahleh 대한혈액학회 2021 Blood Research Vol.56 No.4

Background The treatment of adult Burkitt lymphoma with pediatric-based chemotherapy protocols usually results in high cure rates, although with significant toxicity. We report our experience with the Cancer and Leukemia Group B1002 (CALGB 1002) protocol. Methods The files of adult patients diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma and treated with the CALGB 1002 protocol at King Hussein Cancer Center between 2008 and 2017 were reviewed. Baseline demographics, clinical laboratory features, treatment details, and responses were collected. The correlations between clinical and laboratory variables with event-free survival (EFS) and overall survival (OS) were determined by univariate and multivariate analyses using backward stepwise Cox regression models. EFS and OS were plotted using Kaplan‒Meier curves. Results This study included 19 patients with a median age of 33 years (range, 19‒65). Eleven (58%) and two (10.5%) patients had advanced-stage and central nervous system disease, respectively. Among 106 administered cycles, the median interval between cycles was 23 days (range, 19‒84 days). Sixteen patients (84%) achieved a complete response. After a median follow-up of 40.8 months, the 3-year EFS and OS rates were 78.95%. Patients with a low-risk International Prognostic Index (IPI) had better survival than those with intermediate-or high-risk IPI. Grade III‒IV hematological toxicities occurred in 88% of patients, while 73% had grade III‒IV mucositis. Conclusion In adult Burkitt lymphoma, the CALGB 1002 protocol provides high cure rates and can be administered promptly, but is associated with significant toxicity. Risk-adapted approaches and other, less toxic, chemotherapeutic regimens should be considered.
