Calculation of Mahjong Score using AI
Takuma Kano,Liang Li,Nak Yong Ko,Woong Choi 제어로봇시스템학회 2021 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2021 No.10
In recent years, declining birth rates and aging populations had become more serious in developed countries such as Europe, the United States, and Asian countries, including Japan. Therefore, in this research, we focused on mahjong, which was effective in preventing dementia. However, it was difficult for beginners and even intermediate players to proceed with the game instantly because mahjong has complicated yaku (hand), and the calculation of scores using them is even more complicated. Therefore, we were developing a mahjong progression support system using computer vision aiming at helping players with dementia who have difficulty in calculating mahjong scores. Since simple learning did not produce results that could be used in the proposed system, we achieved significant results by changing the size of the mahjong tiles in the images to be learned, and the system is now able to calculate mahjong scores from the images of mahjong tiles.
Continuous path control of a 5-DOF parallel-serial hybrid robot
Takuma Uchiyama,Hidetsugu Terada,Hironori Mitsuya 대한기계학회 2010 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.24 No.1
Using the 5-degree of freedom parallel-serial hybrid robot, to realize the de-burring, new forward and inverse kinematic calculation methods based on the “off-line teaching” method are proposed. This hybrid robot consists of a parallel stage section and a serial stage section. Considering this point, each section is calculated individually. And the continuous path control algorithm of this hybrid robot is proposed. To verify the usefulness, a prototype robot is tested which is controlled based on the proposed methods. This verification includes a positioning test and a pose test. The positioning test evaluates the continuous path of the tool center point. The pose test evaluates the pose on the tool center point. As the result, it is confirmed that this hybrid robot moves correctly using the proposed methods.
Development of a Prototype Mobile Robot for Mallard Navigation
Takuma Watanabe,Hirokazu Madokoro,Satoshi Yamamoto,Hanwool Woo,Kazuhito Sato 제어로봇시스템학회 2019 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2019 No.10
This paper presents a mobile robot prototype used for mallard navigation in a paddy field. One shortcoming of rice-duck farming is that a flock of mallards tends to gather in a specific area that produces a spring pond. This study was designed to develop a prototype of an autonomous mobile robot that guides a mallard flock to achieve highly efficient rice-duck farming. We developed a robot and waterproof boxes used for the protection of electric devices, including motors. The robot body is 270 mm long, 210 mm wide, and 250 mm high. Its body width is less than the length between rice stalks. After checking the waterproof capability for the body waterproof box, we conducted an indoor driving test for manual operation. Moreover, we conducted an outdoor evaluation tests to assess running on a gravel road and on a snowy road. We evaluated the robot performance not only for uneven surface roads including steps, but also for the range of wireless communication for controlling the robot.
Relation between interdiffusion and polarity for MBE growth of GaN epilayers on ZnO substrates
Takuma Suzuki,Chihiro Harada,Hiroki Goto,Tsutomu Minegishi,Agus Setiawan,고항주,Meoung-Whan Cho,T.Yao 한국물리학회 2004 Current Applied Physics Vol.4 No.6
We report on GaN growth on Zn-polar ZnO substrates using plasma-assisted molecular-beam epitaxy (P-MBE). Before GaNgrowth, ZnO substrate annealing conditions were optimized. Reection high-energy electron diraction (RHEED) patterns afterlow-temperature GaN buer layer annealing changed from streaky to spotty, suggesting that zinc and oxygen atoms interdiusefrom the ZnO substrate into the GaN epilayer. This interdiusion results in a mix-polar GaN epilayer.

Recently, Internet is used widely. Many Web sites, however, are not designed based on user``s view. So, this research aimed at grasping the user needs and structure of Web site which user used easily. First, to grasp user needs, questionnaires about the motivation, the purpose and the evaluation items of Web page were done. As a result, we found the easiness for the user. Next, we made subjects operated test pages in which the number of classes and the amount of information were changed. We collected the quantitative data of the optimum number of classes, amount of information and retrieval time. As a result, there was a significant difference in each numerical value. The results of this research are available when constructing a web site. So, usability of Web site can be improved by them.

The purpose of this study is to examine the impacts of China’s outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) in ‘Belt and Road’(B&R) countries on two domestic problems: overcapacity in the Old Economy, and inter-regional disparities. Since the B&R initiative was announced in 2013, China has been increasing investment in B&R countries. However, it is too early to conclude that China has made significant progress in reducing overcapacity and inter-regional disparities through OFDI, for the following reasons. (i) The growth of China’s regional economies remains dependent on domestic investment due to promotion competition between local officials, although investment efficiency has been decreasing since the late 2000s. (ii) The productivity of the enterprises that undertake OFDI is higher than those that do not. In China, enterprises located in developed coastal areas tend to undertake more OFDI. Inland areas usually have enterprises that are more inefficient and local governments rarely allow them to exit the markets. For the near future, firms in coastal areas will seize the investment opportunities in B&R countries.
A SYSTEMATIC STUDY OF DUST IN EARLY-TYPE GALAXIES WITH AKARI
Takuma Kokusho,HIDEHIRO KANEDA,TORU KONDO,SHINKI OYABU,MITSUYOSHI YAMAGISHI,Katsuhiro Murata 한국천문학회 2017 天文學論叢 Vol.32 No.1
Early-type galaxies (ETGs) are generally dominated by old low-mass stars, which are not very productive of dust, and hot interstellar plasmas, which are very destructive of dust. Thus ETGs provide harsh environments for survival of dust. It has been found that some ETGs contain a large amount of dust, and yet its supply mechanism is not understood well. We present the result of a systematic study of dust in ETGs with the AKARI mid- and far-infrared all-sky surveys. From the AKARI result and the $Ks$ band data obtained by ground-based telescopes, we find that there is a global correlation between the dust mass and stellar luminosity. We also compare the AKARI all-sky survey result with the CO data to discuss origins of dust in ETGs.
