Preventive and Antioxidative Effects of Crude Drug Preparation(E-kong-san) on Cisplatin Induced Nephrotoxicity. Proceedings of International Symposium on East-West Medicine, Seoul. 201-211, 1999. -Nephroprotective effects of a crude drug-prearation (E-kong-san) were determined from cisplatin on rabbit kidney proximal tubule and human renal cortical cells by MTT assays and sustained glucose consumption on ciplatin-induced human renal cortical tissue. Levels of creatinine and blood ure nitrogen(BUN) in serum after administration of cisplatin(0.75mg/kg,i.p.) to E-kong-san(0.75g/kg/day,p.o.)-pretreated rats were markedly lower compared to those of cisplatin-treated rats. Moreover, the administration of E-kong-san significantly inhibited the loss of body weight of cisplatin injected rts. These findings suggest that E-kong-san on the cisplatin induced nephrotoxicity led us to investigate whether the effect of this water extract was a result of anti-oxidation. E-kong-san showed strong free radical scavenger activities on 1,1-dipheny1-2picrylhydrazil(DPPH) radical and xanthine/xanthine oxidase(XOD) generated superoxide anion radical(O2-). We further studied the effects of E-kong-san on lipid peroxidation in rat liver microsomes induced by enzymatic and nonenzymatic methods. E-kong-san exhibited significant inhibition on both ascorbic acid/Fe2+and ADP/NADPH/Fe3+ induced lipid peroxidation in rat liver microsomes. Based on these results, we suggest that-E-kong-san attenuate the cisplatin induced cytotoxicity and its mechanism can be eplained by antioxidant.
노인의 대사성 증후군의 위험 요인에 체구성, 심폐기능 및 근력과의 상관관계

We investigated the association of body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness and muscle strength to the metabolic syndrome risk factors in elderly persons. 53 elderly persons aged 65-75 years evaluated the metabolic syndrome risk factors(centeral obesity, high blood pressure, HDL-cholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, hyperglycemia), as defined by the criteria given in the Adult Treatment Panel Ⅲ. In the relation of body composition among the metabolic syndrome risk factors, WC had a positive correlation with weight, BMI, and WHR, and DBP had a negative correlation with WHR,FBG had a positive correlation with weight, BMI, and WHR, and HDL-C had a negative correlation with weight, BMI, and WHR. In the health related physical fitness, WC had a positive correlation with UMS, LMS, and TMS, LMS, and TMS, TG had a negative correlation with VO_(2)max and HDL-C had a positive correlation with VO_(2)max, UMS, LMS, and TMS. This study suggest that the metabolic syndrome risk factors are affected by body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness and muscle strength.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the health-related fitness and its characteristic in the elder woman. A number of physique and measurement were collected from a group of 40 female volunteers mean age 68 years. The health-related fitness of cardiovascular-respiratory function, muscular strength, and muscular endurance, flexibility and body composition were measured. The subjects of this study were elder womans who were divided into two group : 20 periodical exercise in the elder woman(Group A) and periodical non-exercise in the elder woman(Group B). The results obtained from the experiment were as follows. (1)Cardiovascular - respiratory function The study showed that exercise group performed better than non-exercise group in sit-and-stand test(p<.05). (2)Grip strength We could not found significance difference between exercise group and non-exercise group in Grip strength (3)Muscular endurance The study showed that exercise group performed better than non-exercise group in sit-and-stand test(p<.001). (4)Sit-and-Reach Test The study showed that exercise group was more flexible than non-exercise group in sit-and-reach test(p<.05). (5)%Fat The study showed that the %fat of the exercise group was significantly less than non-exercise group(p<.001).
연령증가에 따른 수영선수들의 최대산소섭취량에 관한 연구

There were 10 numbers of elementary school player, 10 numbers of middle school player, 10 numbers of high school player, total 30 numbers of swimming player who was measured, compared and analyzed maximal oxygen uptake (VO₂max), maximal Ventilation (VE max) and maximal Breathing Frequency(BF max). Therefore different ages of player had a changeable aspects of differences among the group. Analysis of covariance was used for data analysis and the significance level was set at 0.05. The results of this study were as follows. (1)VO₂max The VO₂max appeared in order of high school player(63.52±1.32ml/kg), middle school student(59.92±1.41ml/kg), elementary school player(56.50±2.52ml/kg) group. There were significant differences among the group (p<0.001). (2) VEmax The VEmax appeared in order of high school player (134.3±2.351/min), middle school player(121.4±2.451/min), elementary school player(86.25±8.661/min) group. There were significant differences among the group. (p<0.001) (3) BFmax The BFmax appeared in order of elementary school player (55.6±3.91F/min), middle school player(53.2±3.37F/min), high school player(49.7±2.57F/min)group. There were significant differences among the group.(p<0.001)

The contact potentials and the space charge layer widths in a junction transistor are evaluated from the values of sheet resistance and junction depth. The calculated values of the contact potentials and the space charge layer widths are compared with the experimental values obtained from capacitance measurements. Reasonable agreements are found between the calculated values and the experimental values.
고온 환경에서 최대운동부하시 음료섭취에 따른 심폐기능과 혈중 전해질농도의 변화

To accomplish the purpose of this study, I divided into three groups; one group drink an ion beverage(n=5), another group drink plain water(n=5) and the other group non-drink(n=5) after 15 field hockey players who were randomly chosen at S university. And I analyzed gradually maximal exercise method by Bruce Protocol to avail Treadmill that was often used in the thermal environment(30℃) into electrolyte and responses of circulation. Statistical dealing for measuring score was comparatively analyzed to use SPSS statistical package. As a result, variation of Heart Rate hardly showed the difference in each group drink beverage, but showed considerable difference in the group non-drink in the convalescent stage. Oxyzen consumption, CO2 production and maximal oxyzen consumption per kg body weight made no difference inter-groups. Also variation of electrodyte made no difference in each group drink beverage, but showed considerable difference in the group non-drink.

능이로부터 단백질 분해효소를 분리·정제하고, 쇠고기에 대한 연화효과를 조사하였다. 작용 최적pH는 10.5로 alkaline protease였으며, 작용최적온도는 55℃부근이었다. 탈지우육분에서의 효소활성은 alkaline protease가 papain, bromelin, trypsin보다 우수한 것으로 나타났다. This study carried out to find out the nature and meat tenderizing ability of proteolytic enzyme from Neungee [Sarcodon aspratus (Berk.) S. Ito]. The optimum pH was 10.5, indicating the enzyme to be alkaline protease and the optimum temperature was 55℃. The proteolytic activity found in reaction nonfat beef powder more excellent alkaline protease than papain, bromeline and trypsin.

The conventional PI control that are used in the control loop for outer speed of the induction motor, also has difficulty dealing with the dynamic speed tracking parameter variation and the load disturbance. As a result, the motion control system operates with a poor performance in the motor's low speed range. In this dissertation a novel speed control system that implements and fuzzy logic controller(FLC) is proposed. The proposed FLC used the speed error its rate of change and the drive current as three fuzzy variables. The real command output current is chosen by the dufuzzification of the fuzzy output extracted from the fuzzy control rules. The flux and the torque of the induction motor are estimated using the dynamic model with an excellent dynamic response over a wide speed range and with the rotor flux field-oriented scheme of the decoupling characteristics. The performance of this control system is substantiated by computer simulations.

Methoxypolyethylene glycol of 5,000 dalton were covalently atteched to calf adenosine deaminase using cyanuric chloride as the coupling agent. The modified enzyme demonstrates altered catalytic properties such as shifts ill the pH and temperature optima, an decrease in the Michaelis-Menten constant and lowered Vmax in comparison with the native enzyme. The electroporetic mobility of PEG-ADA is greatly decreased in comparison to the unmodified enzyme.
8주간의 Weight Training과 식이요법이 체지방 변화에 미치는 영향 : stress on the age of 20's female

The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of examine body fat(%) changes following weight loss by diet with long term weight training exercise in women. The subjects of the present study were 180 women: 180 women's age were in range at 19 to 27, and their mean height were 163.1cm. also, their mean weight were 54.4kg, and their mean body fat(%) were 25.7%. The subjects were ready to begin exercise at the same time everyday following their own schedule. All subjects always measured their weight, height, and % body fat before starting every exercise time, and after 8 weeks. They were separated 3 different types of group. First group were doing only weight training during 8 weeks. Second group were doing only in diet program during the same period. Third group were in diet with weight training program. The weight and % body fat were significant differences after 8 weeks in the group which were doing diet with weight training program(p<0.05). However, the group that the weight loss range were light were no signifiant differences(p>0.05). after 8 weeks, their weight and % body fat of the group which were doing only weight training program were no significant differences(p>0.05). Also, their weight and % body fat of the group that were doing only diet program were no significant differences(p>0.05). In conclusion, diet and exercise are very necessary for losing weight and reducing % body fat. However we must do that together, so present study is showing us there are no good influence when we do that only one thing.
