Idiopathic hypertrophic spinal pachymeningitis (IHSP) is a chronic progressive and diffuse inflammatory fibrosis of the spinal dura mater. Though treatment of IHSP is surgical decompression with steroid therapy, treatment for recurrent IHSP is controversial. Our patient was diagnosed with IHSP based on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and underwent laminectomy for decompression following steroid pulse therapy. Despite maintenance of steroid therapy, the patient experienced 3 recurrences. As an alternative immunosuppressant medication, methotrexate was introduced with low-dose steroid. Fortunately, the symptom was resolved, and a decrease of dura thickening was revealed on MRI. We present the case and suggest that methotrexate might be an effective treatment modality for recurrent IHSP.
This paper presents how Korea succeeded in developing an indigenous nuclear power plant model over fifty years. Long-lasting national R&D for technical progress and the Korean government for managerial process were the two pillars in the build-up of indigenous Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) technological capabilities. The concept of technological capabilities is used to examine its evolutionary process with a qualitative and longitudinal approach. The government had a developing country ambition to formulate a strategic plan for technical self-reliance on nuclear power plant while establishing the country's institutions and organization structure for the plan. Under the government leadership, it was national R&D that led to the resolution of a good number of technological problems, efficiently, by absorbing imported technologies and effectively adapting them to local circumstances.

The gelation process of the 4wt.% PAni-EB/NMP solution was characterized by measuring the viscoelastic property in oscillatory test. The solution showed a weak gel state in which the storage modulus decreased rapidly even at low strain in the constant angular frequency test, and the damping factor increased rapidly to a state of typical viscous liquid at a specific angular frequency in the early stage of the constant strain test. It was supposed that the weak bonding of dipole force between polymer molecules was broken by the external deformation. The angular frequency of the sudden change in the damping factor was defined as a critical angular frequency. The PAni solutions with a prior shear deformation resulted in the lower critical angular frequency, showing the delay of gelation process by the prior shear deformation. The PAni solution with the metal-organic framework(MOF) resulted in the lower critical angular frequency proving the anti-gel effect of the MOF.
