Trabelsi, El Bahri,Bouzid, Sadok,Bouzid, Monji,Elloumi, Nedra,Belfeleh, Zina,Benabdallah, Abdallah,Ghezel, Rachida 한국식물학회 2003 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.46 No.3
We induced somatic embryogenesis from the cotyledon segments of Olea europea (L) cvs, 'Chetoui', 'Chemleli', and 'Arbequina' . Calli were established from all three cultivars on OMc media supplemented with IBA and 2i-P. The greatest success was obtained with media that contained zero or low concentrations of growth regulators. High levels of hormones (i.e.,>0.5 mgL^(-1) IBA and 2i-P) inhibited embryogenesis. Embryos at different maturation stages were observed with continuously proliferating secondary embryogenesis. Abnormally shaped embryos and teratoma were also noted. Four weeks was the optimal incubation period for inducing embryogenesis on the auxincontaining medium. In addition, 30 to 40 gL^(-1) sucrose was more effective than glucose in stimulating the growth and maturation of somatic embryos. Embryogenic efficiency was also higher when multivariate combinations of nitrogen sources (inorganic and organic nitrogen forms) were used. The plantlets that were derived from our germinating somatic embryos were similar to those obtained from axillary buds.

Trabelsi, Saoussen,Brahim, Dorra H'mida-Ben,Ladib, Mohamed,Mama, Nadia,Harrabi, Imed,Tlili, Kalthoum,Yacoubi, Mohamed Tahar,Krifa, Hedi,Hmissa, Sihem,Saad, Ali,Mokni, Moncef Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.20
Background: Glioma is a heterogeneous central nervous system (CNS) tumor group that encompasses different histological subtypes with high variability in prognosis. The lesions account for almost 80% of primary malignant brain tumors. The aim of this study is to extend our understanding of the glioma epidemiology in the central Tunisian region. Materials and Methods: We analyzed 393 gliomas recorded in cancer registry of central Tunisia from 1993 to 2012. Crude incidence rates (CR) and world age-standardized rates (ASR) were estimated using annual population data size and age structure. Statistic correlations were established using Chi-square and Kaplan-Meier test. Results: Tunisian glioma patients were identified with a mean age at diagnosis of 48 years and 1.5 sex ratio (male/female). During the 19 years period of study the highest incidence value was observed in male group between 1998 and 2002 (CR: 0.28, ASR: 0.3). Incidence results underline increasing high grade glioma occurring in the adulthood in the last period (2007-2012). Median survival was 27 months, with 1-, 2- and 5-year survival rates of 42%, 30% and 26%, respectively. Survival was greater in patients with younger age, lower tumor grade, infratentrial tumor location and undergoing a palliative treatment. Conclusions: This central Tunisia gliomas registry study provides important information that could improve glioma management and healthcare practice.
Meningeal Hemangiopericytomas and Meningomas: a Comparative Immunohistochemical and Genetic Study
Trabelsi, Saoussen,Mama, Nadia,Chourabi, Maroua,Mastouri, Maroua Haddaji,Ladib, Mohamed,Popov, Sergey,Burford, Anna,Mokni, Moncef,Tlili, Kalthoum,Krifa, Hedi,Jones, Chris,Yacoubi, Mohamed Tahar,Saad, Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.16
Background: The meningeal hemangiopericytoma (MHPC) is a vascular tumor arising from pericytes. Most intracranial MHPCs resemble meningiomas (MNGs) in their clinical presentation and histological features and may therefore be misdiagnosed, despite important differences in prognosis. Materials and Methods: We report 8 cases of MHPC and 5 cases of MNG collected from 2007 to 2011 from the Neuro-Surgery and Histopathology departments. All 13 samples were re reviewed by two independent pathologists and investigated by immunohistochemistry (IHC) using mesenchymal, epithelial and neuro-glial markers. Additionally, we screened all tumors for a large panel of chromosomal alterations using multiplex ligation probe amplification (MLPA). Presence of the NAB2-STAT6 fusion gene was inferred by immunohistochemical staining for STAT6. Results: Compared with MNG, MHPCs showed strong VIM (100% of cases), CD99 (62%), bcl-2 (87%), and p16 (75%) staining but only focal positivity with EMA (33%) and NSE (37%). The p21 antibody was positive in 62% of MHPC and less than 1% in all MNGs. MLPA data did not distinguish HPC from MNG, with PTEN loss and ERBB2 gain found in both. By contrast, STAT6 nuclear staining was observed in 3 MHPC cases and was absent from MNG. Conclusions: MNG and MHPC comprise a spectrum of tumors that cannot be easily differentiated based on histopathology. The presence of STAT6 nuclear positivity may however be a useful diagnostic marker.

Consumers’ fears and anxiousness, triggered by recent food scares and crises, and technological developments such as GMOs, have led to serious concerns about food safety, ever-increasing demands for quality assurance, more information about product origin food labels, and more particularly designation-of-origin labels, such as PDO (protected designation of origin) and PGI (protected geographic indication). Region of origin food labels have become increasingly frequent and apposed to a large variety of food products. The objective of this study is to analyze consumer preferences towards labeled food products on the basis of a consumer scanned data panel.

Background: Infraclaviculr Brachial plexus (ICBP) block is useful for upper extremity surgery. The aim of this study was to compare the ultrasound (US) technique with the nerve stimulation (NS) technique in their success rates and times to perform ICBP block. Methods: 60 patients undergoing surgery of the upper limb were randomly allocated into two groups (n = 30 per group). Group 1; US, and Group 2; NS. Procedure time (including time for initial ultrasound examination), the success rate and the onset time of sensory and motor blockade were assessed. Results: The time needed to perform the ICBP block is similar in both groups (220 seconds ± 130 in US group versus 281 ± 134 seconds in NS group; P = 0.74). The success rate of all the nerve blocks in the US group was 100%. The success rate in the NS group was 73.3%, 76.7%, 76.7% and 100% for radial, ulnar, medial, and musculocutaneous nerve, respectively. A significantly faster onset of sensory block for the radial, ulnar, median, musculocutaneous, and the four nerves considered together were observed. The onset of motor block for the radial, ulnar, and medial nerves was faster in the US group. However, the onset of motor block for the musculocutaneous nerve and the four nerves considered together was comparable between the two groups. Conclusions: The ultrasound-guided infraclavicular brachial plexus block is a significantly efficacious method with faster onset but similar procedure time compared to the nerve stimulation technique.

In this study, the physico-chemical characteristics of extracellular polysaccharides (EPS) produced by Arthrospira platensis were evaluated. Elemental analysis and a bicinchoninic acid (BCA) reaction indicated that the EPS were heteropolysaccharides that contain carbohydrate (13%) and protein (55%) moieties. Analysis of the infrared spectrum and elemental analysis revealed the presence of a sulfate group (0.5%). The UV-visible spectrum showed high UV absorption at 190~230 nm and a shoulder at 260~280 nm. In addition, this spectrum indicated that EPS can form aggregates with mycosporine-like amino acids and/or scytonemin. Gas chromatography analysis of the carbohydrate portion of the EPS indicated that it was composed of seven neutral sugars: galactose (14.9%), xylose (14.3%), glucose (13.2%), frucose (13.2%), rhamnose (3.7%), arabinose (1%), and mannose (0.3%) and two uronic acids, galacturonic acid (13.5%) and glucuronic acid (0.9%).
PUBLIC EDUCATION SPENDING AND ECONOMIC GROWTH: THE GOVERNANCE THRESHOLD EFFECT
SALWA TRABELSI 중앙대학교 경제연구소 2018 Journal of Economic Development Vol.43 No.1
This paper aims to give reason to the mixed result between the public education spending and growth found largely by the empirical works and to confirm the nonlinear character of this relationship. Using cross countries data averaged during the period 1980-2013, and the structural threshold regression method STR (Kourtellos et al,. 2015) to investigate the heterogeneous effects of the public education spending on growth considering governance indicators as threshold variable, we obtain evidence that this expenditure contributes positively to the economic performance only if the country is above the threshold level and presents good governance otherwise the effect is negative.

We measured the ultrasonic velocity, U, density, , and viscosity, in Isobutyric acid - water binary liquid mixtures over the entire composition range at temperatures ranging from 300.15 to 313.15 K under atmospheric pressure. The experimental data values were analyzed to determine, various acoustical parameters: adiabatic compressibility, , acoustic impedance, Z, free length, Lf, free volume, Vf, molar volume, Vm, relaxation time, , absorption coefficient, /f2, internal pressure, i, Gibb’s free energy, G, cohesive energy, CE, Wada’s constant, W, Rao’s constant, Rm and relative association, RA. The variation of these parameters versus the mixture composition was explained on the basis of the intermolecular interactions between the components of the mixture.

The main objective of a Physical Protection System (PPS) in a nuclear facility is to protect against possible malevolent human attack. Failures of that PPS could lead to radiological consequences, so that, radiation dose calculations have been performed for a radiological sabotage event in a Hypothetical Research Reactor Facility using an atmospheric dispersion modeling (HotSpot code) and compared with the annual regulatory limits for the public as set in Schedule III in IAEA Safety Report Series (GSR part 3). To mitigate those efects, a PPS for a hypothetical research reactor facility has been designed and evaluated, before upgrading the PPS, the Probability of Efectiveness (PE) is for a regular PPS, thus a high values of risk are associated, however after modifcation of the PPS, the security system becomes high since the probability of efectiveness is greater than 90% which is by far excellent in order to interrupt and deter any adversary.
