Neoliberalismo y recesión económica en México
Teodoro Aguilar Ortega 부산외국어대학교 이베로아메리카연구소 2015 이베로아메리카 Vol.17 No.2
Throughout this research, the neoliberal policies implemented by Mexican authorities since 1982 shall deeply in order to conceptualize their social and economic effects; particularly, in unemployment and poverty. In this regard, the negative effects caused by the neoliberal are described and analyzed. Especially since 1986, with accelerated economic liberalization and the entry of hundreds of companies into the country, without it meant an improvement in the welfare of Mexicans. The methodology used is the study of literature sources and historical tracking of neoliberal policies, so that way, noting its impact on the economy. It starts from the view that neoliberalism seeks to improve the competitiveness of countries, but to seize the strategic natural resources.

This study evaluates the effects of supplementation of murici (Byrsonima crassifolia) and tapereba´ (Spondiasmombin) pulp extracts on dietary intake, body composition, biochemical parameters, and markers of oxidative stress. Twoexperiments were conducted with a total of 80 healthy male Wistar rats and a 30-day supplementation. In the first experiment, animals were divided into control (C) group, murici group 50 mg/(kg$day) (50Mu), murici group 100 mg/(kg$day) (100Mu),and murici group 200 mg/(kg$day) (200Mu). In the second experiment, animals were divided into C group, tapereba´ group50 mg/(kg$day) (50Tap), tapereba´ group 100 mg/(kg$day) (100Tap), and tapereba´ group 200 mg/(kg$day) (200Tap). Resultsshowed lower feed intake in 50Mu, 100Mu, and 100Tap groups (13%, 12%, and 10%, respectively, P < .05) and lower bodyfat in 200Mu, 100Tap, and 200Tap groups (16.0%, 29.1%, and 27.1%, respectively, P < .05). Only the 100Tap group showedreduced adipose tissue content (30.4%; P < .05). Increased plasma antioxidant capacity was observed at all doses for bothfruits. Tapereba´ supplementation reduced ferrous oxidation–xylenol orange levels (50Tap: 8.4%, 100Tap: 16.1%, 200Tap:24.3%; P < .05) and increased thiol levels (50Tap: 39%, 100Tap: 31%; P < .05). Serum thiobarbituric acid reactive substanceslevels were reduced in all groups receiving tapereba´ (50Tap: 77.7%, 100Tap: 73.1%, 200Tap: 73.8%; P < .05) and murici(50Mu: 44.5%, 100Mu: 34%, 200Mu: 43%; P < .05). Therefore, it is suggested that the inclusion of these fruits in the diet cancontribute to health maintenance and disease prevention, through their effects on controlling food intake, improving bodycomposition, and in combating oxidative stress.
Physiological and Molecular Characterization of Cephaleuros virescens Occurring in Mango Trees

The objective of this work was to accomplish the isolation, molecular identification and characterizing the physiology of the causal agent of the algal spot in mango trees. For this purpose, the pathogen growth was assessed in different culture media, with subsequent observation and measurements of the filamentous cells. The molecular identification was made using mycelium obtained from leaf lesions and pure algae colonies grown in culture medium. Descriptions based on DNA sequencing indicated that the algae is Cephaleuros virescens. The algae must be isolated primarily in liquid medium for further pricking into agar medium. The highest mycelial growth average in Petri dishes occurred when the algae were grown in Trebouxia and BBM. Trebouxia enabled larger cells in the filamentous cells when compared to other culture media.

Evaluation of bioenergetic and mitochondrial function in liver transplantation
Rui Miguel Martins,João Soeiro Teodoro,Emanuel Furtado,Anabela Pinto Rolo,Carlos Marques Palmeira,José Guilherme Tralhão 대한간학회 2019 Clinical and Molecular Hepatology(대한간학회지) Vol.25 No.2
Background/Aims: We measured changes in mitochondrial function and bioenergetics that occur during ischemia/ reperfusion in fresh liver samples of patients undergoing liver transplantation. These variations correlated with markers of liver function and clinical outcome. Ischemia/reperfusion injury related to liver transplantation affects mitochondrial function and bioenergetics. Experimental studies were conducted to identify the role of bioenergetics and mitochondrial dysfunction. To the best of our knowledge, no investigation of these two factors’ impacts on liver transplantation has been performed. Methods: This was a prospective study of 28 patients who underwent liver transplantation. We measured parameters of mitochondrial function and bioenergetics in biopsies performed during the procedure. Results: We observed a statistically significant reduction in mitochondrial membrane potential, an increase in lag phase, and decreases in mitochondrial respiration and adenosine triphosphate content (P<0.010). Higher postoperative aminotransferase peaks correlated with worse mitochondrial function; mitochondrial respiration correlated with arterial lactate (P<0.010). Conclusions: There is a relationship between mitochondrial function and ischemia/reperfusion injury. The future use of these clinical markers as prognostic factors may allow early identification of post-transplant liver failure and may indicate the need to perform a new transplant.
Anticancer Properties of Psidium guajava - a Mini-Review
Correa, Mariana Goncalves,Couto, Jessica Soldani,Teodoro, Anderson Junger Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.9
Cancer is a complex disease caused by a progressive accumulation of multiple genetic mutations. Consumption of fruits is associated with lower risk of several cancers, which is mainly associated to their phytochemical content. The use of functional foods and chemopreventive compounds seems to contribute in this process, acting by mechanisms of antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-angiogenic and hormonal. The Psidium Guajava has high potential functional related to pigments who are involved in the process of cancer prevention by having antioxidant activity. The aim of the present review is to expose some chemical compounds from P. Guajava fractions and their association with anti-carcinogenic function. The evidences supports the theory of anticancer properties of P. Guajava, although the mechanisms are still not fully elucidated, but may include scavenging free radicals, regulation of gene expression, modulation of cellular signalling pathways including those involved in DNA damage repair, cell proliferation and apoptosis.
