        Structural and Temperature-Dependent Electrical/Optical Behaviors of Hot-Wall Deposited BaGa2Se4 Layers

        The characteristic behavior of hot-wall deposited BaGa2Se4 layers was investigated as a function of temperature. The structural quality of the layers was found to be affected by tensile strain due to the coincidence-lattice mismatch. The carrier mobility showed an aspect of two scattering mechanisms. As the temperature was increased to 100 K, the mobility increased as a function of T1 due to impurity scattering. Also, at temperatures higher than 100 K, its behavior was reduced to two different-temperature slopes caused by lattice scattering. One was a function of T−3/2 at T > 200 K, and the other was a function of T−1/2 for 100 < T > 200 K. From the behavior of log n(T) versus 1/T, three donor-trap levels due to native defects were observed. By tracking the spectral photocurrent (PC) behavior with decreasing temperature, we found that the three PCpeak positions shifted toward shorter wavelengths and their intensities were dramatically decreased. These spectral PC peaks were due to the band-to-band transition. These band-gap variation were well matched by Eg(T) = Eg(0)−2.06×10 −3T2/(T +230.7). By the selection rule, the crystal-field and the spin-orbit splitting were found to be 0.2031 and −0.2259 eV, respectively. In the log Jph versus 1/T plot, we found that the spectral PC-intensity behavior was related to two donor-trap levels by comparing with the carrier concentration results. In conclusion, the dramatic decrease in the spectral PC intensity was attributed to trapping centers.

        J-PLUS: Identification of low-metallicity stars with artificial neural networks using SPHINX

        <P><I>Context.</I> We present a new methodology for the estimation of stellar atmospheric parameters from narrow- and intermediate-band photometry of the Javalambre Photometric Local Universe Survey (J-PLUS), and propose a method for target pre-selection of low-metallicity stars for follow-up spectroscopic studies. Photometric metallicity estimates for stars in the globular cluster M15 are determined using this method.</P><P><I>Aims.</I> By development of a neural-network-based photometry pipeline, we aim to produce estimates of effective temperature, <I>T</I>eff, and metallicity, [Fe/H], for a large subset of stars in the J-PLUS footprint.</P><P><I>Methods.</I> The Stellar Photometric Index Network Explorer, SPHINX, was developed to produce estimates of <I>T</I>eff and [Fe/H], after training on a combination of J-PLUS photometric inputs and synthetic magnitudes computed for medium-resolution (<I>R</I> ~ 2000) spectra of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. This methodology was applied to J-PLUS photometry of the globular cluster M15.</P><P><I>Results.</I> Effective temperature estimates made with J-PLUS Early Data Release photometry exhibit low scatter, σ(<I>T</I>eff) = 91 K, over the temperature range 4500 < <I>T</I>eff (K) < 8500. For stars from the J-PLUS First Data Release with 4500 < <I>T</I>eff (K) < 6200, 85 ± 3% of stars known to have [Fe/H] < −2.0 are recovered by SPHINX. A mean metallicity of [Fe/H] = − 2.32 ± 0.01, with a residual spread of 0.3 dex, is determined for M15 using J-PLUS photometry of 664 likely cluster members.</P><P><I>Conclusions.</I> We confirm the performance of SPHINX within the ranges specified, and verify its utility as a stand-alone tool for photometric estimation of effective temperature and metallicity, and for pre-selection of metal-poor spectroscopic targets.</P>

        Programmed cell death ligand 1 alleviates psoriatic inflammation by suppressing IL-17A production from programmed cell death 1-high T cells

        <P>Background: Psoriasis is one of the most common chronic inflammatory diseases of the skin. Recently, IL-17-producing T cells have been shown to play a critical role in psoriatic inflammation. Programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) is a coinhibitory receptor expressed on T cells in various chronic inflammatory diseases; however, the expression and function of PD-1 during psoriatic inflammation have not previously been characterized. Objective: We examined PD-1 expression on IL-17A-producing T cells from imiquimod-treated mice and patients with psoriasis. Additionally, we investigated the therapeutic effect of recombinant programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) protein on imiquimod-induced psoriatic inflammation. Methods: PD-1 expression on IL-17A-producing gamma delta T cells from imiquimod-treated mice was examined by means of multicolor flow cytometric analysis. In the psoriatic skin of patients, PD-1 and IL-17A expression was analyzed by using immunofluorescence. The therapeutic effect of PD-L1-Fc fusion protein (PD-L1-Fc) was assessed in imiquimod-treated mice ex vivo and in vivo. Results: During imiquimod-induced psoriatic inflammation, PD-1 is overexpressed on CD27(-)V gamma 1(-) gamma delta T cells. Furthermore, PD-1 expression on IL-17A(+) T cells was confirmed in psoriatic skin tissues from patients and imiquimod-treated mice. In the CD27(-)V gamma 1(-) gamma delta T-cell population, V gamma 4(-) gamma delta T cells with V gamma 6 mRNA expression showed a high level of PD-1 expression. Furthermore, these PD-1(hi)V gamma 4(-)(V gamma 6(+)) gamma delta Tcells were specialized for anti-CD3-induced IL-17A production, which was inhibited by PD-L1-Fc treatment. In imiquimod-treated mice PD-L1-Fc reduced psoriatic inflammation when given alone and enhanced the therapeutic effect of anti-p40 when given in combination. Conclusion: PD-1 is overexpressed in IL-17A-producing T cells in both imiquimod-treated mice and patients with psoriasis. Moreover, recombinant PD-L1-Fc alleviates psoriatic inflammation in imiquimod-treated mice.</P>

      • 국내 유통중인 기계발골계육의 품질특성 및 저장특성 비교

        This study was undertaken to compare the quality characteristics and storage characteristics between mechanically deboned chicken meat (MDCM) in 5 different companies(T1-T5) in Korean. In the chemical composition, T2 showed higher(p<0.05) moisture, T4 showed higher protein(p<0.05), T3 showed higher fat(p<0.05) and T5 showed higher ash(p<0.05). In the pH value, T5 showed lower(p<0.05) pH value than the other raw meat. In the TBA value, T3 showed lower(p<0.05) value than other products from 0 day to 7 day of storage. In the total microbial count, T3 showed lower(p<0.05) value compared to other raw meat from 0 day. But T1 showed lower(p<0.05) from 7 day. In the VBN value, T5 showed higher(p<0.05) from 0 day. And all raw meats showed higher than standard value from 7 day. As a result, MDCM showed difference the quality and storage characteristics the between companies in Korea. It is impossible to store MDCM more than 7 days when stored at 4℃ refrigerator.

        농촌형 녹색마을에 신재생에너지 보급을 위한 시설재배 및 농업기계의 CO2 배출량 분석

        화석에너지 의존도를 줄이면서 CO2 배출량을 낮추기 위하여 정부에서는 녹색마을을 선정하고 에너지자급률을 40% 수준으로 높이려는 계획을 추진 중이다. 본 연구는 각 농업 분야 중에서 농기계의 사용과 재배 시설에 있어서의 에너지 사용량을 파악하고 이를 바이오디젤로 대체하였을 때의 CO2 저감수준을 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여, 농업 각 분야별 에너지 소비수준의 분석, 그리고 실천 가능한 신재생 에너지원의 선정이 요구된다. 경종재배의 전체 연간온실가스 배출량은 5,667,258 t-CO2이고, 그 중 시설 부문은 4,932,607 t-CO2인 것으로 분석되었으며, 농업시설 부문 중 에너지원별로 보면 경유가 3,105,707t-CO2, 중유가 1,370,578 t-CO2를 배출하는 것으로 분석되었다. 우리나라 시설작물의 단위 면적당 온실가스 평균배출량은 29,418 t-CO2/ha인 것으로 나타났다. 농기계별 2007년 총에너지소비량을 살펴보면 트랙터가 284,763 kL로 가장 높게 나타났으며, 동력 경운기221,314 kL, 곡물건조기 145,524 kL, 콤바인 72,537 kL 등의 순이었다. 전라북도 G시를 대상으로 이용 중인 시설재배와 농업기계의 이산화탄소 배출량을 비교분석한 결과,바이오디젤로 전환하면 약 7% 정도의 CO2 감소효과가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. In order to reduce dependence on the fossil fuels and CO2 gas emission in farming activities, the government has pushed ahead with making the self-sufficiency of farming energy up 40% level in green villages. The objectives of this study are to survey the energy consumption of horticultural facilities or agricultural machineries, and to analyze the reduced CO2 gas emission level from fossil fuel to bio-diesel fuel. For the implement of this study, it is necessary to analyze the energy consumption level in the various sector of farming activities, and available renewable energy sources should be selected. Annual total CO2 gas emission in the tillage farming sector was analyzed as 5,667,258 t-CO2 and that in the horticultural facilities occupied 4,932,607 t-CO2, while the CO2 gas emission level of diesel fuel was 3,105,707 t-CO2, and that of the heavy oil showed 1,370,578 t-CO2. The average CO2 gas emission level of horticultural facilities in the country was analyzed as 29,418 t-CO2/ha. Among the total energy consumption of agricultural machineries, tractor used 284,763kL, power tiller spent 221,314 kL, grain drier consumed 145,524kL and combine tractor expend 72,537kL. From the comparison of CO2 gas emission level between fossil fuel and bio-diesel fuel for the horticultural facilities or agricultural machinery in G-City, Jeonbuk Province, the CO2 gas emission level can be reduced by 7% through replacing the fuel from fossil to biodiesel.

      • 한우 사골, 꼬리, 우족 및 잡뼈 추출물의 이화학적 특성

        This study was conducted to investigate the physico-chemical characteristics of various bone extracts in Hanwoo cattle. The experimental materials are as follows; T1(Shank bone extract), T2(Tail extract), T3(Beef feet extract), and T4(The other bones extract). In the proximate composition, the T1 and T2 showed higher moisture and fat contents than those of T3 and T4(p<0.05), and the T3 had the highest protein content among the bone extracts(p<0.05). The quality properties including salinity, sugar content, turbidity and yellowness(b*) values were significantly higher in the T3 than the other bone extracts(p<0.05). However, the pH value of T3 was significantly lower than the other bone extracts. In the mineral contents, calcium contents of bone extracts were 36.33-48.57mg/kg, and the content of phosphorus was the lowest in T1(4.62mg/kg) and T2(19.88mg/kg) was the highest(p<0.05). Contents of sodium and potassium were the highest in T3(215.83mg/kg) and T2(54.59mg/kg), while the content of magnesium was the lowest in T3(12.28mg/kg). In conclusion, these results could be suggested to be the basis information for processed meat extract products industry in korea using Hanwoo bone extract.

        톱밥 발효사료 급여 및 분말어유의 첨가사료가 돈육의 이화학적 성질에 미치는 영향

        This study was conducted to investigate the influence of pork quality pigs which were fed with diets supplemented with fermented sawdust and sardin powder oil. The pigs were randomly assigned to one of the four treatments: a), control (commercial feed); b), T1 (30% fermented sawdust); c), T2 (10% sardin powder oil) d), T3 (30% fermented sawdust, l0% sardin powder oil and 30% limited amino acid) from 30 kg to 110 kg B. Wt. and slaughtered. The samples were stored at 0±1 C. The physico-chemical properties were determined at the dust of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 15. For the loin the pH's of all the treatments on the 15th day were higher than those of the 2nd day, and that of TI was higher than those of the others. The total moisture contents of all treatments decreased with the storage (P$lt;0.05), and there were no significant differences among treatments on the 15th day. The water soluble proteins of all treatments increased with time and were highest on the 8th day and decreased gianibicanth thereater. T1 had significantly higher water soluble protein than others(P$lt;0.05). The salt soluble proteins of all treatments increased with lure the days(P$lt;0.05). T1 had higher salt soluble protein than others during the storage period(P$lt;0.05). The brittleness, hardness, cohesiveness, gumminess and chewiness of all the treatments were not significantly different among during the period, but elasticity of them increased after from the 2nd day. The brittleness of control was higher than that of the others on the 15th day, and the hardness and chewiness of control were higher than those of the others on the 6th day(P$lt;0.05). Forthebelly the pH's of all the treatments on the 15th day were higher than those of the at 2nd day(P$lt;0.05). T1 showed higher pH than the others during the period(P$lt;0.05). The total moisture contents of control and T1 were significantly decreased with time and there were no significant differences between T2 and T3. T1 showed the highest value. The water soluble proteins of all the treatments decreased with time and was lower on the 15th day(P$lt;0.05). That of control and T1 was significantly higher than that of others on the 2nd day, but there were no significant differences among the treatments on the 15th day. The salt soluble proteins of all treatments increased with time (P$lt;0.05), and they were highest on the 15th day. T1 had significantly higher salt soluble protein than the others on the 8th and 15th days.

        임신 및 각종 갑상선질환에서 갑상선 기능 판정에 관한 연구 : 혈청유리 T4의 진단적 의의에 관한 고찰 The diagnostic value of free thyroxine by RIA

        To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of the measurement of free thyroxine(FT4) by radioimmunoassay, we measured free T4 and T4, T3, T3RU, TSH and TBG serum levels by radioimmunoassay in 18 healthy persons and 52 patients with various thyroid diseases and 11 normal pregnant women. The results are as follows. 1) In 19 cases of overt hyperthyroidism, T3, free T4 and FTI, T4/TBG ratio reflect hyperfunction in all cases. T4 is increased in 94%(18/19) and TBG and TSH are decreased in 79%(15/19). 2) In 8 patients with overt hypothyroidism, TSH is increased in all cases and free T4 and FTI is decreased in all cases. T4 is decreased in 87.5%(7/8), T3 is decreased in 75%(6/8) and T4/TBG ratio is decreased in 62.5%(5/8). 3) In 5 patients who are clinically in euthyroid state after treatment of hyperthyroidism, T4 free T4, FTI and TSH are in the normal range in all cases and T3 is normal in 60%(3/5) and slightly increased in 40%(2/5). 4) In 10 patients who showed clinically borderline hypothyroidism after treatment of hyperthyroidism, TSH is increased in all cases and free T4 and FTI are decreased in all cases, but T4 and T3, T4/TBG ratio are in the normal limit in all cases. So after treatment of hyperthyroidism, TSH, free T4 or FTI are recommended as optimal function test. 5) In normal pregnancy, free T4, FTI and T4/TBG ratio reflect normal function, but the other parameters unreliable due to the influence of increased TBG. Also TBG and TSH level in pregnancy is increased significantly compared with normal healthy control group. 6) The coefficients of correlation between T4 and FTI were 0.862(p〈0.001) and 0.685(p〈0.001) between free T4 and T4/TBG ratio. In most patients, diagnostic value of free T4 was comparable and even superior to FTI, so free T4 measurement can be used routinely with thyrotropin assay in the diagnosis of hypothyrodism or with T3 for the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism.

        Dye mixture promoted light harvesting for organic dye-sensitized solar cells using triphenylamine dyes with various numbers of anchoring groups

        Co-sensitizers and co-adsorbents are promising materials to enhance the light harvesting efficiency and reduce the un-expected back transfer reaction (recombination) of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). In this study, three sensitizers with triphenylamine as an electron donor, thiophene as a bridge and various numbers of acceptors/anchors cyanoacetic acid (TPA3T1A, TPA3T2A and TPA3T3A) were synthesized, and TPA3T1A and TPA3T2A were used as co-adsorbents with TPA3T3A. The results showed that co-adsorption on the TiO<SUB>2</SUB> surface at the following percentages, TPA3T3A 73%, TPA3T1A 17% and TPA3T2A 10%, resulted in an increase in the photovoltaic performance of the DSSCs from 5.27% to 5.83% compared to that of a single TPA3T3A sensitizer due to the increasing J<SUB>SC</SUB> and V<SUB>OC</SUB>. This enhancement might be due to improved light absorption and decreasing recombination by the co-sensitizers, TPA3T1A and TPA3T2A, occupying all the empty plases on the TPA3T3A-adsorbed TiO<SUB>2</SUB> surface.

        비육돈 사료의 영양소 수준이 돈육 품질에 미치는 영향

        In a trial involving 240pigs, the proximate composition, physico-chemical properites, color, amino acid composition and fatty acid composition of loin muscle were investigated in feeding various finished pig fees. The treatments included feeding control) the low-nutrient density diet(2,960㎈/㎏ ME, 12.25% CP, 0.41% lysine and 0.70% Ca), T1) the medium-nutrient density diet(3,220㎈/㎏ ME, 15.50% CP, 0.87% lysine and 0.90% Ca) and T2) the hight-nutrient density diet(3,350㎈/㎏ ME, 17.50% CP, 1.05% lysine and 0.90% Ca). The crude ash contents of T1 were significantly(p<0.05) higher than those of control and T2. The ?_(u) of T2 were significantly higher than those of control and T1, but cooking loss were significantly(p<0.05) lower than those of control. In compositions amino acid, aspartic acid, threonine, iso-leucine and histidine of T2 were higher than those of control, but proline and glycine were significantly(p<0.05) lower then those of control. The oleic acid(18:1) contents of control were significantly higher than those of T1 and T2, but the contents of linoleic acid(C18:2) and arachidonic(C20:4) acid were significantly(p<0.05) lower. Inconclusion, the results of the experiments suggest that the high-nutrient density diet for pigs tended to improve the postmortem ?_(u) and cooking loss.
