The goal of this study is to understand how financial inclusion (FI) as influenced by Internet subscribers in India, affects India’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). This study makes use of secondary data that was collected from 16 Indian states and one Union Territory between the fiscal years of 2018 and 2020. The goal of this study has been investigated using panel data regression analysis (PDR). And the study’s findings indicate that wages received through MNREGA accounts and post office operating accounts under the supervision of Internet subscribers have a significant negative impact on India’s SDGs, demonstrating how financial inclusion is harming the country’s efforts to achieve sustainable development. This study suggests that it is important to pay attention to rural areas’ access to the digital environment and their degree of digital literacy. These findings imply that improving the MGNREGA program and employees’ pay might help the government alleviate poverty in India. Financial inclusion also depends heavily on financial literacy. The government should improve its digital infrastructure in rural and urban areas so that people there may better understand and utilize it given that it promotes financial inclusion, digitalization, economic advancement, rural development, and poverty reduction.

Thermal systems of buildings in the tropics are highly energy intensive. In this study, a novel integrated solar photovoltaic–thermal–refrigeration (PVTR) system used to produce hot water and air-conditioning in the tropical climate conditions of Singapore was analyzed. A dynamic simulation model was formulated for the analysis. Mathematical models were developed for the PV sandwich attached with a solar flat plate collector and for the main components of the refrigeration system. Thorough investigation of the electrical and thermal performances of the system were conducted through the analysis of coefficient of performance (COP), cooling capacity, water temperature and heat capacity in water heater, photovoltaic (PV) module temperature and PV efficiency. The results show that attractive electrical and thermal performance can be achieved with a maximum annual cooling COP of 9.8 and a heating COP of 11.3. The PV efficiency and power saving were 14% and 53%, respectively. The annual cooling, heating and PV energy produced were 9.7, 15.6 and 1.6MWh, respectively. The financial payback period of the system was 3.2 years and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction annually was 12.6 tons of CO2 equivalents (tCO2e).

Background/Aims Laparoscopic approach for total colectomy is acceptable ontologically if executed with a complete mesocolic excision and central vascular ligation to ensure radical D3 lymphadenectomy. Methods This is an illustrative video vignette showing a step by step approach to total colectomy with complete mesocolic excision with central vascular ligation. Our patient was a 45yr gentleman with adenocarcinoma of the transverse colon extending to splenic flexure and descending colon with synchronous polyps in right colon on colonoscopy. Staging computed tomography scan did not show any distant metastases. Results Total colectomy was done using laparoscopic approach with a complete mesocolic excision. Stapled ileo-rectal anastomosis was performed. Blood loss was 200mL and intra-operative period was uneventful. Post-operative period was uneventful and patient was discharged on day 6. Final histopathology revealed a moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma of transverse colon and left colon (pT3N1, 0/56 nodes) with dysplastic polyps in right colon. Patient was referred to Medical Oncology for adjuvant chemotherapy. Conclusions This video vignette highlights step by step conduct of a technically challenging procedure using laparoscopy while ensuring oncological adequacy.

Background: As lung ultrasound (LUS) can be used to identify regional lung ventilation and collapse, we hypothesize that LUS can be better than auscultation in assessing lung isolation and determining double lumen tube (DLT) position. Methods: A randomized controlled study was conducted in tertiary care cancer institute from November 2014 to December 2015, including 100 adult patients undergoing elective thoracic surgeries. Patients with tracheostomy, difficult airway and pleural-based pathologies were excluded. After anesthesia induction and DLT insertion, patients were randomized into group A (auscultation) and group B (LUS). Regional ventilation was assessed by experienced anesthesiologists using the respective method for each group. Final confirmation of DLT position with a bronchoscope was performed by a blinded anesthesiologist. Contingency tables were plotted to determine sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV), and accuracy for each method. Results: Data from 91 patients were analyzed (group A = 47, group B = 44). Compared with auscultation, LUS had significantly higher sensitivity (94.1% vs. 73.3%, P = 0.010), PPV (57.1% vs. 35.5%, P = 0.044), NPV (93.8% vs. 75.0%, P = 0.018), accuracy (70.5% vs. 48.9%, P = 0.036) and required longer median time (161.5 vs. 114 s, P < 0.001) for assessment of DLT position. Differences in specificity (55.6% vs. 37.5%, P = 0.101) and area under curve (0.748; 95% CI: 0.604–0.893 vs. 0.554, 95% CI: 0.379–0.730; P = 0.109) were not significant. Conclusions: Compared to auscultation, LUS is a superior method for assessing lung isolation and determining DLT position.

The impact of exclusion of solar UV-B (280-320 nm) and UV-A+B (280-400 nm) radiation on the root nodules was studied in soybean (Glycine max var. MACS 330). Soybean plants were grown in the tropical region of Indore (Latitude-22.4°N), India under field conditions in metal cages covered with polyester exclusion filters that specifically cut off UV-B (<320 nm) and UV-A+B (<400 nm) radiation; control plants were grown under ambient solar radiation. Leghemoglobin content was analyzed in the root nodules on the 50th day after emergence of seedlings. Exclusion of UV radiations significantly enhanced the leghemoglobin content in the nodules on fresh weight basis; 25% and 45% higher amount of leghemoglobin were present in the nodules after the exclusion of UV-B and UV-A+B radiation respectively. Analysis by native and SDS-PAGE showed high intense bands of leghemoglobin after the exclusion of UV-A+B as compared to control. Exclusion of UV radiation also enhanced the growth of roots as well as aerial parts of the plants. UV Exclusion increased nodulation by increase in the number and size of nodules. The results are discussed in the light of advantage of exclusion for enhancing protein/nitrogen content in the plants.
Receptor-guided 3D-QSAR Study of Anilinoquinazolines as RET Receptor Tyrosine Kinase Antagonists

A RET (Rearranged during transfection) kinase belongs to a receptor tyrosine kinase family. It plays a major role in development, maturation, survival, and maintenance of cells and tissues. Oncogenic activation of RET has been reported in numerous cancers. Thus, it is a significant therapeutic target for cancer. Present work covers docking and 3D-QSAR techniques executed on anilinoquinazoline derivatives as RET kinase antagonists. Docking study recognized important active site amino acid residues like Leu730, Gly731, Gly733, Glu734, Ala807, Gly810, Ser811, and Asp874 which inhibits the RET kinase. In 3D-QSAR technique, receptor-guided CoMFA (q2 = 0.723, NOC = 5, r2 = 0.980) as well as CoMSIA (q2 = 0.767, NOC = 6, r2 = 0.967) models were produced. The stabilities of these models were evaluated using diverse validation techniques. Contour maps showed that steric and hydrogen bond donor substitutions are favored at R1 and R2 positions whereas positive and negative substitutions are favored at the R1 position to enhance the potency. In addition, the substitution of H-bond accepting group to the region which is close to both phenyl and piperazine is favored. Hence, the outcome of this study could be beneficial to design more potent inhibitors for RET kinase.

Polo-like kinase-2 (PLK2) is a member of a highly conserved serine/threonine kinase family. PLK2 is implicated in the regulation of cell division. It is activated in the early G1 phase in cell cycle progression and is required for centriole duplication. It has been observed that the low expression of PLK2 leads to B-cell lymphoma and ovarian cancer. Furthermore, it was found to be associated with poor prognosis in non-small cell lung cancer, breast cancer, head and neck carcinoma, and osteosarcoma. Thus, PLK2 is considered as an important therapeutic target for cancer drug design due to its multiple roles in several types of cancers. In this work, molecular docking and 3D-QSAR techniques were performed on tetrahydropteridin derivatives as PLK2 inhibitors. Docking study identified crucial active site residues such as Leu88, Cys96, Ala109, Lys111, Val143, Leu159, Glu160, Cys162, and Phe212 which helps in the firm binding of the ligand. Receptor-guided CoMFA (q 2 = 0.859, NOC = 5, r 2 = 0.996) and CoMSIA (q 2 = 0.855, NOC = 6, r 2 = 0.998) models were produced. The predictability and stability of these models were assessed using different validation techniques. Contour maps revealed that electrostatic and steric substitutions were favorable at R1 and R2 positions respectively. In addition, the substitution of H-bond donor group at the R1 position was also favored. The results of this study could be helpful for designing more potent PLK2 inhibitors.
