The genetic relatedness among Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) occurring on different host plants prevailing in South India was studied using PCR- RAPD. Genomic DNA was isolated individually from five larvae collected from each of 10 different host plants (except in okra). PCR-RAPD analysis was carried out using a set of 20 random primers which had produced repeatable banding patterns from a original set of 60 primers. A set of 155 amplicon levels were available for analysis, of which 154 were polymorphic. An average of 7.75 bands per primer was recorded. Similarity coefficients based on the frequency of band sharing among host strains varied from 0.25 in cotton and sunflower to 0.72 in groundnut. Clustering analysis on the basis of the PCR-RAPD-generating band sharing indicated that most of the individuals occurring on niger, safflower, green gram, abutilon and lagasca clustered together, indicating greater genetic similarity among themselves, than those occurring on other crops. Furthermore, the pattern of genetic variation in the individuals collected from niger, safflower, green gram, groundnut, abutilon and lagasca was seem to be largely host-dependent.

The present study is focused on probiotic characterization of four yeasts viz. Pichia barkeri VIT-SJSN01, Yarrowia lipolytica VIT-ASN04, Wickerhamomyces anomalus VIT-ASN01 and Saccharomyces cerevisiae VIT-ASN03 isolated from food samples based on their auto-aggregation, co-aggregation ability and haemolytic activity. All the yeast strains showed good self-adhering and co-adhering potentiality with a value index of greater than 85%. None of the strains exhibited haemolysis which confirmed their non-pathogenic nature. Yeast strains were encapsulated in sodium alginate, sodium alginate coated with chitosan and sodium alginate-gelatinized with starch. Size and morphology of the beads and capsules were determined using SEM analysis. Encapsulation output and viability under storage condition was investigated. It was found that probiotic yeasts encapsulated in sodium alginate beads, chitosan coated beads and microcapsules showed better survival to simulated gastrointestinal conditions compared to free cells.

Biosynthesis of Xylobiose: A Strategic Way to Enrich the Value of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch Fiber
( Lakshmi G ),( Suvarna B ),( Uma Rejeswari ),( R S Prakasham ) 한국미생물 · 생명공학회 2012 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.22 No.8
Xylooligosaccharides are functional foods mainly produced during the hydrolysis of xylan by physical, chemical, or enzymatic methods. In this study, production of xylobiose was investigated using oil palm empty fruit bunch fiber (OPEFB) as a source material, by chemical and enzymatic methods. Xylanase-specific xylan hydrolysis followed by xylobiose production was observed. Among different xylanases, xylanase from FXY-1 released maximum xylobiose from pretreated OPEFB fiber, and this fungal strain was identified as Aspergillus terreus and subsequently deposited under the accession Number MTCC- 8661. The imperative role of lignin on xylooligosaccharides enzymatic synthesis was exemplified with the notice of xylobiose production only with delignified material. A maximum 262 mg of xylobiose was produced from 1.0 g of pretreated OPEFB fiber using FXY-1 xylanase (6,200 U/ml) at pH 6.0 and 45oC. At optimized environment, the yield of xylobiose was improved to 78.67 g/100 g (based on xylan in the pretreated OPEFB fiber).

We identified azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexane derivatives that are active diacylglycerol acyltransferase-1 (DGAT)-1 inhibitor. Among the azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexane series, compound 6b showed good in vitro activity toward human DGAT-1, selectivity toward DGAT-2, and liver microsomal stability. Compound 6b exhibited no CYP inhibition, hERG binding, or cell cytotoxicity. Additionally, compound 6b reduced the level of plasma triglyceride after oral administration in mice.
VL RECIPROCAL STATUS INDEX AND COINDEX OF CONNECTED GRAPHS
V. Lokesha,S. Suvarna,Shanthakumari Y 장전수학회 2022 Proceedings of the Jangjeon mathematical society Vol.25 No.3
The reciprocal status of a vertex u in a connected graph G, is defined as the sum of reciprocal of the distances between u and all other vertices of a graph G. Relation between VL reciprocal status index and VL reciprocal status coindices are established. Also these indices are computed for VL reciprocal status transmission regular graphs. Further the VL reciprocal status index and coindex of some standard graphs are obtained.
VL Status Index and Co-index of Connected Graphs
V. Lokesha,S. Suvarna,A. Sinan Cevik 장전수학회 2021 Proceedings of the Jangjeon mathematical society Vol.24 No.3
The status σG(u) of a vertex u in a connected graph G is defined as the sum of the distances between u and all other vertices of G. In this paper some relations over VL status index and VL status co-index of connected graphs are established. Furthermore distinguished examples for k-transmission regular graphs and nanostructures of VL status indices are computed.
