      • Thermodynamic Modeling of Miscibility Gap in the Al-In System

        A thermodynamic modeling of phase diagram in the binary Al-In system was described using the Gibbs free energies of the phases. The subregular solution model was applied to describe the liquid phase in the present system. Using the experimental miscibility gap data in the literature, the interaction parameters in the excess Gibbs free energy expression of liquid phase were obtained as A^(0) = 39.8874 - 0.0192T and A^(1)= 2.5464 + 0.0008T (kJ/mol). With these parameters, the miscibility gap was regenerated. The present result was compared and discussed with other experimental and assessed data available in the literature.

        골격성 Ⅲ 급 부정교합자의 악골 부조화가 구치부 치성보상에 미치는 영향

        골격성 Ⅲ 급 부정교합자는 부적절한 악골 위치에서 기능 교합을 유지하기 위해 치아의 경사도와 수직적 위치가 변화하게 된다. 이러한 치성보상은 전치부 및 구치부 전반에 걸쳐 일어나며, 현재 보편적으로 시행되고 있는 악교정수술을 위한 술전교정시 이를 제거하여 각 골격 구조내에서 치아들이 적절히 위치되도록 하여야 한다. 전치부 치성보상에 관한 측모 두부방사선 사진을 이용한 연구는 많이 시행되어졌으나, 구치부 경사도에 관한 연구는 미미한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 성인 골격성 Ⅲ 급 부정교합자의 전후방적, 수직적 악골 부조화에 따른 폭경 부조화 및 구치 경사도 변화를 알아보기 위해 진단 모형상에서 상하악 견치, 제1소구치, 제1대구치 부위의 기저골 폭경을 측정하여 상악에 대한 하악의 비율을 구하였으며, 모형을 삭제하여 좌우 구치간 경사도를 측정하였다. 악골 부조화 심화에 따른 기저골 폭경 비율과 제1대구치 협설 경사도 변화의 상관관계를 조사하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 골격성 Ⅲ 급 부정교합자의 악공의 전후방적 부조화가 심화될수록 상하악 구치간 각도합이 증가하여 치성보상이 많이 일어났으며, 특히 하악 구치가 설측 경사되는 치성보상을 보였다(p<0.001). 2. 골격성 Ⅲ 급 부정교합자의 악골의 수직적 부조화 및 폭경 부조화와 구치부 치성부상 간에는 유의할만한 상관성이 없었다. 3. 골격성 Ⅲ 급 부정교합자의 전후방적, 수직적 부조화의 심화와 기저골 폭경 부조화는 유의할만한 상관성이 없었다. This study examined the relations between degree of posterior dental compensation and skeletal discrepancy in Class Ⅲ malocclusion. The pretreatment lateral cephalograms and dental casts of 87 skeletal Class Ⅲ adults were selected to provide a random sampling of skeletal Class Ⅲ malocclusion. Skeletal discrepancy was described with ANB angle, Wits appraisal, Sn-Mn plane angle, FMA and ratios of basal arch width. Degree of posterior dental compensation was described with macillary intermolar angle, mandibular intermolar angle and sum of intermoloar angle. The relationships between skeletal discrepancy and degree of posterior dental compensation were analyzed with simple correlation analysis, stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows : 1. A strong association was found between the variation in the anteroposterior measure, ANB angle and the variation of posterior dental compensation measures, sum of intermolar angle and mandibular angle and mandibular intermolar angle in skeletal Class Ⅲ malocclusion. 2. There was no statistically significant relationship between the variation in the vertical measures and the variation of posterior dental compensation measures in skeletal Class Ⅲ malocclusion. 3. There was no statistically significant relationship between the variation in the anteroposterior and vertical measures and degree of basal arch width discrepancy.

      • 하시모토 갑상선염과 동반된 갑상선 유두암에서 BRAFV600E의 발현과 임상적 특징

        Background: An association between Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) and papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is still controversial. Studies to date established the coexistence of HT in 11% to 36% of PTC patients. BRAFV600E mutation was presented 90% with no HT, 64% with HT in PTC patients. Therefore, BRAFV600E mutation is associated with the pathogenesis of PTC arising in HT. The purpose of this study was to identify predictive factors for the coexistence of PTC and HT and to evaluate the association of the BRAFV600E mutation with the clinicopathological features of coexistence of PTC and HT. Methods: A total of 247 patients underwent surgery for thyroid disorders between January 2007 and April 2009. In all, 212 patients was diagnosed as thyroid papillary carcinoma only (PTC group), 33 had coexistence of PTC and HT (PTC+HT group), and 2 had been diagnosed with HT. DNA was extracted from paraffin embedded thyroid tumor specimens taken from 99 patients with PTC, 13 coexistence of PTC and HT, and 2 was HT. The presence of the BRAFV600E mutation was determined by polymerase chain reaction amplification of exon 15 followed by direct sequencing. Results: Among clinicopathological features sex, age, tumor size and capsule invasion was not significant between PTC group and PTC+HT group. Lymph node metastasis and stage was significantly lower in PTC+HT group than PTC group (p=0.044). BRAFV600E mutation was found in 34 of the 99 PTC group (34.3%), 1 of the 13 PTC+HT group and 2 HT show no BRAFV600E mutation. Conclusion: These data demonstrated that the coexistence of PTC and HT was less aggressive than PTC only.

        수학자 보재 이상설(李相卨)의 근대자연과학 수용 -『백승호초(百勝胡艸)』를 중심으로-

        본 논문은 한국 근대수학교육의 아버지 이상설(李相卨, 1870-1917)이 자연과학―물리학―에 기여한 내용을 다루고있다. 이상설은 ?수리(數理)?를 쓴 시기를 전후하여, 같은 시기에 붓으로 총 8면에 걸쳐 『백승호초(百勝胡艸)』라는이름의 고전물리학 원고를 써서 남겼다. 분석결과 이 책의 원전은 1879년에 동경제대 의학부 교재로 발간된 『물리학(物理學)』이다. 이상설은 『백승호초』에서 먼저 개념을 정의하고, 일상에서 나타난 대표적 현상을 선록하여 한문으로번역하였고, 『물리학』의 전체 분량에서도 특히 ‘통유성(通有性)’에 중점을 두고 설명하였다. 동양에서 서양의 수리과학이 들어와야만 말할 수 있는 ‘질량보존의 법칙’, ‘타성(惰性, 관성)’과 같은 고전물리학의 중요개념을 포함하는 내용이 19세기 말에 이미 이 책에 소개된 것으로 보아 이상설은 당대의 다른 저술에서 보기 힘들 정도로 당시 일반물리학의 최고수준의 원서를 통해 최신 정보를 수용하고 전파하기 위하여 노력하였음을 볼 수 있다. Sang-Seol Lee(1870-1917) wrote a manuscript BaekSeungHoCho(百勝胡艸) in the late 19th century. BaekSeungHo-Cho was transcribed in classical Chinese from the 1879 Japanese book Physics(物理學) by Teizo Ihimori (1851-1916). Sang-Seol Lee, a famous independence activist, is also called Father of the Modern Mathematics Education of Korea,because of his early contribution to the modern mathematics education in the 19th century. In this paper, we introduce contents of his manuscript BaekSeungHoCho for the first time and discuss the significance of this book. Also, we show his constribution on the introduction to modern physics in the late 19th century Korea.

      • 경막외 혈액 봉합술을 시행받은 자발성 두개내 저압 환자의 분석

        Background : Spontaneous intracranial hypotension(SIH) is found as a not uncommon cause of headache recently. We wanted to study its demographic characteristics, presenting symptoms and findings and the effect of autologous epidural blood patch (AEBP). Methods : We retrospectively analyzed medical records of 11 patients who were diagnosed of spontaneous intracranial hypotension and treated with AEBP from March of 2006 to October of 2009. Results : Age of patients(10 female and 1 male) was ranged from 29 to 51 years (mean 38.8 years). Their presenting symptoms included typical postural headache(11/11), nausea and vomiting(7/11), dizziness(2/11), stiff neck or neck pain(2/11), shoulder pain(2/11), and back pain(1/11). In nine patients CSF pressure was checked, CSF pressure was less than 6 cmH2O in 8 patients. In nine of eleven patients, CSF leakage was detected in cisternography. Brain MRI showed diffuse meningeal enhancement in six patients and subdural hematoma in one. VAS of postural headache decreased from 8-10(mean 9.6) to 1-5(mean 1.6) after AEBP. Conclusion : Most of the SIH patients were otherwise healthy people. It was prevalent among women, especially young adult. AEBP showed as an excellent treatment modality.

        Fly ashes generated from solid waste incinerator has heavy metal high contents, and this is classified as hazardous wastes. So environmental problems may happen due to the potential toxicity of hazardous elements released from fly ashes. Accordingly this work have showed the possible uses on by-products after removing pollutants. For the characteristics of fly ashes, the particle size distribution, specific surface area, thermal gravimetric, chemical analysis and SEM are analyzed.

      • Ascorbic Acid와 2-Methoxyestradiol에 의한 내분비선 장애물질의 제거효율

        The removal efficiency of an environmental endocrine disrupter, 1,l-bis (4-chlorophenyl)-2,2,2-trichloroethane(CPT) has been studied using L-ascorbic acid(ACA) and 2-methoxyestradiol(MSD). l,l-Bis(4-chlorophenyI)-2,2,2-trichlorcethyl anion(CPT^( θ)) is formed by treatment of OH- ion to l,l-bis(4-chlorophenyl)-2,2,2-trichloroethane(CPT), l,l-Bis(4-chlorophenyl)-2,2,2-trichiorcethyl radical(CPT·) yields during the reaction of l,l-his(4-chlorophenyl)-2.2,2-trichloroethyl anion with iodine occurs. A high m v a l efficiency for l,l-bis(4-chlorophenyl-2,2,2-trichlorcethyl radical(CPT·) reveals in the case of L-ascorbic acid(ACA) used more than that of 2-methozyestradiol(MSD). This is in accord with the rate of yielding L-ascorbic acid radical(ACA·) is faster than the one of 2-methoxyestradiol radical(MSD·). The removal efficiency of 1,1-bis(4-chlorophen~l)-2,2,2-trichloroethyl radical(CPT·) is increased with increasing of solvent acidity and solvent hydrogen bonding degree.
