The authors describe 2 cases of multiple thoracic disc herniations in the level of T5∼6, T6∼7, T7∼8 and T8∼9, T9∼10, T10∼11. Thoracic disc herniation is rare and occurs in less than 4% of all disc diseases. Moreover, multiple thoracic disc herniation is very rare and only 7 cases were reported in the literatures, which occured at two levels in 6 cases and five levels in one case. The lesions were determined by thoracic CT myelogram and MRI study. A microsurgical posterolateral approach made them curative. Surgical instruments such as downbite currette and surgical microscope were essential for successful treatment.

This paper was performed to investigate the satellite DNA of human chromosome 1, 9, 16 and Y on male Korean by high-resolution banding and densitometric graph method. The results are summarized as follows: 1) The satellite DNA Ⅰ was observed the short arm peak of the centromere circumference of each chromosome. 2) The satellite DNA Ⅱ appeared the short arm peak of the centromere neighborhood on the 1, 9, and 16 chromosome. 3) The satellite DNA Ⅲ was presented the long arm peak of the contromere circumference of the 1, 9, and 16 chromosome. 4) The high peak of each chromsome was infered the heterochrochromain region, but the low peak was infered the euchromatin.

To investigate the relationship between psychiatric symptoms and brain lesion site, thirty eight psychiatric inpatients with history of head trauma were selected. Patients were divided into three groups according to lesion sites ; patients with left hemispheric lesion (N=13), patients with right hemispheric lesion(N=11), and patients with ill defined lesion(N=14). Psychiatric symptoms were examined focused on depression and cognitive functions. Depressive symptoms were checked by Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression(HRSD), and cognitive functions were checked by Mini-Mental Status Examination(MMSE) and Korean Wechsler Intelligence Scale(KWIS). The results were as follows : 1) Patients with left hemispheric lesion, especially with left anterior lesion, showed significantly higher HRSD score than patients with another lesion sites(p<0.05). 2) Moderate to severe depression, whose HRSD score was higher than 18, was more common in patients with left hemispheric lesion than in patients with another lesion sites. 3) MMSE scores and KWIS scores of all three groups were not significantly different each other. 4) ‘Calculation’scores were lower in patients with left hemispheric lesion than in patients with another lesion sites. 5) ‘Language’scores were significantly lower in patients with left hemispheric lesion than in patients with another lesion sites(p<0.0.5).

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between house wife's participation on dance sports, marital communication and marriage satisfaction. Specifically, it aims to examine: The influence of the dance sports involvement on marital communication, and marriage satisfaction. The subjects of this study was selected by cluster random sampling of involvement(participation 561, non-participation 177) in dance program facility of Seoul, Kyung-ki, Daejun, and Kwang-ju. The survey questionnaires were used to collect the data. The questionnaire for the formalization factor marital communication, had been developed by Lee(1991). And also the marriage satisfaction had been developed by Kwon & Chei(1998). The statistical methods such as multiple regression analysis. From the analyses of the data, the study reached the following conclusions: Marital communication and marriage satisfaction of dance sport participant house wife are partially influence marriage satisfaction.

We review the contextuality of measured values in quantum mechanics from point of view of a conventional interpretation of quantum mechanics. We will, in particular, concentrate on Bell-KS theorem which, seemingly, disproved the existence of a hidden-variable interpretation of quantum mechanics. We introduce ways to accommodate the contextuality so that Bell-Ks theorem no longer holds and therefore the existence of a hidden-variable interpretation becomes possible.

A study was made on the change in the activities of the following during 10 post-operative days: alcohol dehydrogenase of regenerating rat livers after 70% (median and left lateral lobes) partial hepatectomy. After partial hepatectomy in the rats, activities of regenerating liver alcohol dehydrogenase significantly increased in the sixth day. The activities of microsomal ethanol-oxidizing system in the regenerating liver markedly increased from the third day after partial hepatectomy. However, no significant changes in hepatic catalase was noted throughout the experiments. The activities of cytosolic and microsomal aldehyde dehydrognease in the regenerating liver significantly increased from the sixthe day and the third to the sixth day respectively, but mitochondrial aldehyde dehydrogenase showed no change.

Differential equations governing the magnetic behavior of the toroid-shaped ferromagnetic material with uniform-width and V-shaped gap, respectively, were derived incorporating the Maxwell equation of electro-magnetic induction with the Newtonian equation of motion. The characteristics of current and electro-motive force with respect to time in the circuit consisting of inductance and resistance in series could be predicted from the numerical solution of these equations. As the current in the circuit increases, the magnetic field within the material increases and thus the gap starts to shrink due to the amplified attractive force between the gap surfaces. As the current decreases the gap become to expand due to the reduced attraction between the gap and restoring force built in the material. With appropriate selection of spring constants of toroidal ferro-magnetic material and appropriate design of gap-structure, it is possible to obtain the desired both the linear and non-linear magnetic characteristics, such as current dependent and independent inductance.
