        한국 근대수학교육의 아버지 이상설(李相卨)이 쓴 19세기 근대화학 강의록 『화학계몽초(化學啓蒙抄)』

        본 원고는 한국 근대 수학교육의 아버지 이상설(李相卨, 1870-1917)이 자연과학-화학-에 기여한 내용을 다루고 있다. 이상설은 "수리(數理)"를 쓴 시기를 전후하여, 같은 시기에 붓으로 총 46쪽에 달하는 "화학계몽초(化學啓蒙抄)"를 필사하였다. 분석해 본 결과 그 원전은 영국인 H. E. Roscoe(羅斯科, 1833-1915)가 1876년 발간한 Science Primers: Chemistry를 영국인 선교사 Joseph Edkins(艾約瑟, 1823-1905)가 번역하여 1886년에 간행한 "화학계몽(化學啓蒙)"으로 "서학계몽(西學啓蒙)" 16종 가운데 하나이다. Sang-Seol LEE wrote a manuscript HwaHakGyeMongCho(化學啓蒙抄) in the late 19th century. HwaHakGyeMongCho was transcribed from Science Primers: Chemistry (written by H. E. Roscoe), which is translated into Chinese by Joseph Edkins in 1886. LEE did not copy original writing exactly, but he understood the contents of each chapter and sections, then summarized and edited them in his caligraphic writing. In this paper, we introduce the contents for the first time and discuss the significance of this book.

        이상설 : 한국 근대수학교육의 아버지

        본 논문은 한국수학사에서 연구와 정리가 취약한 시기인 근대수학의 도입기를 조사하면서, 그 근대수학의 도입기에서 만나게 되는 인물인 이상설(李相卨)에 대한 조명을 시도한다. 시대적 상황이 모든 분야의 침체기를 가져온 구한말 이상설은 근대수학에서 당대를 대표하는 높은 학식을 쌓고 뛰어난 재능을 보여주었다. 그간 이상설에 대해 '근대수학교육의 아버지'라는 평가가 없지 않았음에도 불구하고 낯설게 느껴진다면, 그것은 그가 독립운동가로만 강하게 각인된 탓일 것이다. 하지만 그는 19세기말 조선 근대수학의 첫 번째 교과서 편저자이자 수학교사이기도 했음을 새겨둘 필요가 있다. 대유학자이면서도 선구적으로 외국어와 서양과학 특히 근대 서양수학을 이해한 면모는 한국이 배출한 천재 중 하나라는 평가가 결코 과장이 아님을 보여준다. 이에 본 논문에서는 한국 근대수학교육에 커다란 기여를 한 인물인 이상설의 교육과 학문 및 실천업적을 조명한다. 보재 이상설이 1886년경에 쓴 책 <수리>와 최초로 수학과 과학을 관립교육기관의 교육과정에 편성한 과정, 최초의 근대수학교과서로 여겨지는 <산술신서>의 발간, 민족교육기관인 '서전서숙'의 설립 및 운영을 포함한 보재의 업적을 한국수학사 관점에서 조명한다. 또한 <산술신서>의 목차와 구체적인 내용 및 1901년에 출간된 <신정산술>의 내용을 소개하고, 지금까지 부정확하게 알려진 <수리>와 <산술신서>에 관한 몇 가지 역사적 사실을 발굴하여 재조명한다. Most who have heard of Sang-Seol Lee know him for his contribution to the Korean independence movement nearly a hundred years ago. This paper, however, will discuss Lee's other great contribution to his country; that of being "The father of modern mathematical education in Korea". Lee passed the rigorous government officer examination with the highest honor and became a teacher for the royal prince. Later he became the president of Sunkyunkwan, a national institute of higher learning since 1398, and eventually a well-known university bearing the same name. Lee was also a highly regarded Confucian scholar and well versed in foreign languages. He wanted Korea to become a modern country and felt that the areas of science and engineering were studies that needed improving in order to achieve modernization. While researching Western textbooks on the subjects he realized that Western mathematics would be especially important for Korea. With that, it became his mission to integrate Western mathematics into the Korean educational system. This paper will explain the importance of Sang-Seol Lee's contributions to mathematic education in Korea and how it helped Korea become the modern nation it is today.

      • 교외지역에서 토양 중 PBDEs 종별 농도 특성

        Polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDEs) was measured in soil samples of Ansung in Kyonggi-province to investigate concentration characteristics of PBDEs. Total concentration of PBDE were 2,205.3 pg/g dry weight (DW) in soil sample. BDE-209 showed as the most abundant congener in soil samples which was related to imported amount and usage amount of deca-BDE technical mixture in Korea. Also, BDE-99, BDE-47, BDE-100 deposition in soil sample was higher than other congeners and was related to the imported and usage amount reported for penta-BDE technical mixture in Korea. Correlation coefficient between PBDE contribution and technical mixture formulation(Bromokal 70-5DE) were significant(r=0.91, p<0.01) which suggests the influence of sources in this technical mixtures.

        수학자 보재 이상설(李相卨)의 근대자연과학 수용 -『백승호초(百勝胡艸)』를 중심으로-

        본 논문은 한국 근대수학교육의 아버지 이상설(李相卨, 1870-1917)이 자연과학―물리학―에 기여한 내용을 다루고있다. 이상설은 ?수리(數理)?를 쓴 시기를 전후하여, 같은 시기에 붓으로 총 8면에 걸쳐 『백승호초(百勝胡艸)』라는이름의 고전물리학 원고를 써서 남겼다. 분석결과 이 책의 원전은 1879년에 동경제대 의학부 교재로 발간된 『물리학(物理學)』이다. 이상설은 『백승호초』에서 먼저 개념을 정의하고, 일상에서 나타난 대표적 현상을 선록하여 한문으로번역하였고, 『물리학』의 전체 분량에서도 특히 ‘통유성(通有性)’에 중점을 두고 설명하였다. 동양에서 서양의 수리과학이 들어와야만 말할 수 있는 ‘질량보존의 법칙’, ‘타성(惰性, 관성)’과 같은 고전물리학의 중요개념을 포함하는 내용이 19세기 말에 이미 이 책에 소개된 것으로 보아 이상설은 당대의 다른 저술에서 보기 힘들 정도로 당시 일반물리학의 최고수준의 원서를 통해 최신 정보를 수용하고 전파하기 위하여 노력하였음을 볼 수 있다. Sang-Seol Lee(1870-1917) wrote a manuscript BaekSeungHoCho(百勝胡艸) in the late 19th century. BaekSeungHo-Cho was transcribed in classical Chinese from the 1879 Japanese book Physics(物理學) by Teizo Ihimori (1851-1916). Sang-Seol Lee, a famous independence activist, is also called Father of the Modern Mathematics Education of Korea,because of his early contribution to the modern mathematics education in the 19th century. In this paper, we introduce contents of his manuscript BaekSeungHoCho for the first time and discuss the significance of this book. Also, we show his constribution on the introduction to modern physics in the late 19th century Korea.

        扶正益氣方의 抗癌活性과 免疫調節作用에 관한 硏究

        To evaluate the antitum or activity and immune response Bujungikgibang(BJ1GB) studies were done experimentally. The results were obtained as follows: 1. BJIGB extracts exhibited a weak cytotoxicity against SK-OV-3, and SK-MEL-2 cell lines. While it showed cytotoxicity against B16-Fl0 cell line up to 30% of control at concentration of 0.5 mg/ml. 2. BJIGB extracts significantly showed inhibitoty effect on DNA topoisomerase 1 from calf thymus in a dose-dependant manner. 3. BJIGB extracts showed antiadhesive rates against A549, at 30% at 0.5 mg/ml, 60% at 1 mg/ml 4. BJIGB extracts inhibited CAM angiogenesis up to 60%. 5. BJIGB extracts prolonged life span of ICR mice bearing S-180 sarcoma cells up to 130.5%. 6. In FACS analysis, the population of helper T cell was increased weakly, while cytotoxity T cell was decreased insignificantly. 7. The production of nitric oxide in RAW cell stimulated by LPS was incresed at 0.5mg/ml or more in dose dependant fashion as compared with control. 8. Proliferation rate of splenocyte was increased at 0.5mg/ml or more a dose dependant fashion as compared with control. These results suggested that BJIGB extracts might be usefully applied for treatement of cancer and also it was nesessary to do more studies about its mechnisms.

      • Sol-Gel방법에 의해서 성장시킨PbTiO₃박막의 결정화와 물리적 성질

        Ferroelectric PbTiO3 thin films coated on SiO2/Si(100) and ITO glass substrates were prepared by sol-gel processing of metal alkoxide solutions and solvents. The use of sol-gel method for preparing various functional films makes it possible for the homogeneous distribution of elements at the molecular level, precise composition control, lower temperature synthesis, large surface coating and high optical quality. First of all, the XRD investigation shows that perovskite phase of polycrystalline PbTiO3 was formed by four times coating of the concentrated solution and by the heat treatment over 500, 600℃(O2 gas and air) and over 10, 20, 30 min. Surfaces of thin films were crack-free and uniform and the average grain size investigated by SEM was 0.25∼1.00 ㎛. Dielectric constant of PbTiO3/ITO glass thin film were 380 ∼ 5.25 in the region of 1 kHz∼ 10 MHz at room temperature(30℃), respectively. From the hysteresis loop of PbTiO3/ITO glass thin film, a remnant polarization of 0.382 μC/cm2 and a coercive filed of 23.85 kV/cm were obtained. At the frequency(5 kHz), C-V measurements of films in MFIS and MFM configurations showed well-behaved C-V characteristics and an injection type hysteresis. The capacitance of flat band(CFB) was 60 pF. The band gap energies of the thin films depend on the assumption of direct or indirect transition. Using one layer structure model, we calculated refractive index, extinction coefficient, absorption coefficient and band gap energy of thin film in the wavelength range of 300 to 800 nm. The band gap energy, refractive index and extinction coefficient at λ = 6325 Å of the PbTiO3 thin film were 3.7 eV, 1.96 and 0.1 respectively.

      • 탈지 환원유에서 Bifidobacterium longum의 호기성 고농도 배양에 관한 연구

        The objectives of this study were to investigate the optimal condition for growth and highly concenterated culture of Bifidobacterium longum (Bif longum). The effects of additives were compared with titratable acidity and viable cell counts, and 10% reconstituted skim milk (no additive) was used as a control. Correlation coefficient for the growth of Bif. longun between CO_2 anaerobic jar method and overalaid medium method was R=0.99. When 1% Bif. longurn was inoculated on 12%, 14%, and 16% reconstituted skim-milk, viable cell counts were 8.60, 8.89, and 8.93 Log CFU/ml, respectively. When Lactose, Glucose, Glucosamine, Fructose, Peptone, N-acethyl-D-glucosamine, D-galactose, and liver extract were added to 16% reconstituted skim-milk, the viable cell counts were 8.61, 9.05, 9.15, 9.24, 8.82, 9.75, 9.17, and 9.64 Log CFU/ml, respectively. Therefore, D-galactose, liver extract, and N-acethyl-D-glucosamine were selected as final additives. When Bif longum was inoculated on Fermentor-I (16% reconstituted skim milk containing 0.1% yeast extract, 0.5% D-galactose and 0.5% liver extract), Fermentor-II (16% reconstituted skim milk containing 0.190% yeast extract, 0.590% N-acethyl-D-glucosamine and 0.5% liver extract), Batch culture-I (16% reconstituted skim milk containing 0.1% yeast extract, 0.5% D-galactose and 0.5% liver extract), and Batch culture-II (16% reconstituted skim milk containing 0.1% yeast extract, 0.5% N-acethyl-D-glucosamine and 0.5% liver extract), viable cell counts were 10.46, 9.37, 9.03, and 8.83 Log CFU/ml, respectively. Although liver extract was the important additive for the highly concentrated culture of Bif. longum in this study, it caused serious off-flavor when liver extract-1 (contained cell mass) was added to Fermentor culture. However, flavor was improved when liver extract-2 which was removed cell mass, was used instead of liver extract-1. Addition of 2% liver extract-II and 1% D-galactose had the similar effect with addition of 0.5% Liver extract-I and 0.5% D-galactose on the growth of Bif. longum.

      • 동심원관 제트유동장내에서 초음파에 의한 난류증진에 관한 연구

        A study on the turbulence enhancement by ultrasonic vibration was dealt with an experiment on flow characteristics with ultrasonic forcing in a jet field of coaxialcircular pipe. A large transparent acryl tank and a coaxial circular pipe nozzle were made for the above research. Experimental data have been obtained using PIV. City water of 25℃ was selected as an experimental liquid and the front flow field of the coaxial circular pipe was divided horizontally as 3 measuring regions to observe characteristics of flow phenomena. Characteristics of fluid flow such as velocity vector distribution, kinetic energy, turbulent intensity and etc. were visualized, observed, examined and considered at 3 kinds of Re No. such as Re=2×10³, 3×10³ and 5×10³. In result, it was proved that ultrasonic vibration affected the enhancement of turbulent flow.

      • Layer-by-Layer Doping of Few-Layer Graphene Film

        <P>We propose a new method of layer-by-layer (LbL) doping of thin graphene films. Large area monolayer graphene was synthesized on Cu foil by using the chemical vapor deposition method. Each layer was transferred on a polyethylene terephthalate substrate followed by a salt-solution casting, where the whole process was repeated several times to get LbL-doped thin layers. With this method, sheet resistance was significantly decreased up to ∼80% with little sacrifice in transmittance. Unlike samples fabricated by topmost layer doping, our sample shows better environmental stability due to the presence of dominant neutral Au atoms on the surface which was confirmed by angle-resolved X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The sheet resistance of the LbL-doped four-layer graphene (11 × 11 cm<SUP>2</SUP>) was 54 Ω/sq at 85% transmittance, which meets the technical target for industrial applications.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/ancac3/2010/ancac3.2010.4.issue-8/nn1008808/production/images/medium/nn-2010-008808_0006.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/nn1008808'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>

        생활도우미활동이 장애학생에 대한 일반학생의 또래관계에 미치는 영향

        이 연구는 일반중학교에서 장애학생의 학급생활을 돕기 우해 활용되어지고 있는 생활도우미 활동이 장애 학생에 대한 일반학생의 또래관계에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 통합교육을 실시하고 있는 일반중학교 1개교(208명)를 대상으로 학급배치요인(장애학생과 같은 반/다른 반)과 또래관계개입요인(개입 유/무)을 기준으로 집단을 구분하고, 또래관계 질문지를 통해 또래관계를 전체 점수와 하위 점수(공유활동, 친사회적행동, 친밀감, 애착ㆍ자존심ㆍ고양, 신의, 갈등)로 환산하여 각 집단 간 차이를 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 1. 학급배치요인(physical proximity)은 일반학생과 장애학생의 친밀감을 감소시키지만 갈등도 감소시켰다. 그 효과는 미미하다. 2. 또래관계개입요인(peer-relationship intervention)은 일반학생과 장애학생의 또래관계에서 갈등을 제외한 대부분 영역에서 또래관계 점수를 높여주었다. 3. 또래관계점수는 학년에 영향을 받았고, 상호작용효과는 학년과 학급배치요인 간에 두드러졌다. 그러나 또래관계 점수는 성별에는 영향 받지 않았다. 따라서 통합교육환경에서 단순히 학급배치만을 고려하는 것은 장애학생과 일반학생의 또래관계개선에 큰 도움이 되지 못했다. 그렇지만 생활도우미활동을 실시했을 때 또래관계개입을 함께 고려하면 또래관계를 개선하는데 큰 도움이 된다는 결론을 내릴 수 있었다. The objects of this study is to find the effects of Peer helper activity which are related with the non-disable student's peer relationship with disable student. I took sampling 208 students who went to N School which progress peer-helper activity, surveying and analyzing it according to proximity, peer relationship intervention, grade, sex. The peer-helper activity effects remarkably on non-disable student's peer relationship with disable student. However, there is some question in building up the in creasing non-disable student's peer relationship with disable student which is only peer-relationship intervention. The remarkably peer-helper activity's effects is peer-relationship intervention and a chance which interact with disable students. and The grade interacts significantly with Physical proximity and has main effects but, The sex does not interact significantly with any ones and does not have main effects. Come to the Conclusion that activity which is only refer to proximity is not helpful to non-disable student's peer relationship with disable student but that activity which is refer to both Physical proximity and peer-relationship intervention is helpful to non-disable student's peer relationship with disable student.
