‘한국학’은 매우 논쟁적인 개념이다. 이를 ‘학(學)’으로 인정할 수 있는가 하는 본질적인 질문에서부터 출발하여 그것의 대상을 한정하는 문제, 계보를 정리하는 문제 등 ‘한국학’은 이 순간에도 외부와 영향을 주고받으며 마치 생물(生物)처럼 변화한다. 그러나 지금-여기서, 지나온 그 과정을 확실히 정리해야 할 필요성에 대해 많은 연구자들이 공감할 것이다. 이 책은 ‘한국학’ 개념의 탄생과정과 그 개념의 변천과정을 우리 내부에서 추동한 내적 욕망과 외부적 영향력을 바탕으로 다각로로 조명한다. 서로 다른 전공과 배경지식, 관심사를 가진 연구자들이 쓴 총 12편의 글은 절묘하게 직조되어 하나의 상(像)을 만든다. 다양한 논의가 이루어지는 만큼 얻을 수 있는 것도, 의문이 남는 부분도 많다. 아직은 시론격인 이 책은 근대 ‘한국학’과 동아시아 지 식장에 대한 총체적인 그림의 한 조각으로 충분할까? 자발적이고 적극적인 토론자가 되어, 본고에서는 이 책의 내용을 소개하는 한편 연구의 성과와 제기되는 의문을 정리해보고자 한다. ‘Korean Studies’ is a very controversial concept. As we can see from a pretty much intrinsic question if it can be acknowledged as a ‘Studies’ as well as other issues like limiting its subjects, organizing genealogy, etc., ‘Korean Studies’ interacts with outside and keeps changing like an organism even at this moment. However, numerous researchers will sympathize with the necessity to clearly organize the process that we once have gone through here and now. In this book, the birth of the concept ‘Korean Studies’ and the process of its transition are examined in multilateral ways based on desires that have been inspired inside us and external influences. The 12 articles written by researchers with different specialties, diverse background knowledges, and various interests get exquisitely woven and forms a single image. Matters to be obtained and questioned are as many as the number of diverse discussions currently being made. Is this book, which can be regarded as contemporary opinions, sufficient to serve as a part of the whole picture of the modern ‘Korean Studies’ and sites of knowledge in East Asia? The contents of this book are to be introduced and performances achieved as well as questions arisen in terms of the studies are to be examined in this article from the viewpoint of a spontaneous and active debater.

국제영화제 이미지가 개최 도시 이미지와 관광객의 관광지 평가에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 선행연구를 통해 국제영화제의 이미지가 개최 도시의 이미지와 관광지 평가에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 부산국제영화제(BIFF)의 사례를 통해 확인하고자 한다. 본 연구의 결과는 부산의 이미지를 향상하는 데 필요한 시사점을 줄 것이다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부산국제영화제의 이미지는 개최지역 이미지에 부분적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 국제영화제의 이미지 요인중 행사 내용이 지역 이미지에 유의미한 영향을 준다. 둘째, 부산국제영화제의 이미지는 관광객의 관광지 평가에 부분적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다.국제영화제 이미지의 요인 중 행사 내용, 행사 정보가 관광지 평가에 유의미한 수준에서 영향을 준다. 셋째, 지역 이미지는 관광객의 관광지 평가에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 지역 이미지 요인인 정서적 이미지, 인지적 이미지, 인프라 모두 관광지 평가에 유의적인 수준으로 영향을 미친다. 국제영화제 이미지 척도는 문화관광객들의 경험을 측정하는 도구로서 성공적인 축제의 진행과 잠재적 문화관광객들의 문화 욕구 자극을 위해 활용할 수 있는 실천적 유용성을 가지며, 동시에 지역 이미지와의 영향 관계는 축제를 통한 지역 경제 활성화의 방향성을 이해하기 위한 시도로서 의의를 가진다. This study aims to confirm through the case of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) how the image of the international film festival affects the image of the host city and the evaluation of tourist destinations through prior research. And the results of this study will give the necessary implications for improving the image of Busan. The results of this study are as follows. First, the image of the Busan International Film Festival had a significant impact on the image of the host region. Among the image factors of an international film festival, the event contents has a significant impact on the regional image. Second, the image of the Busan International Film Festival had a significant Among the factors of the international film festival image, event contents and event information have a significant impact on tourist destination evaluation. Third, regional image had a significant impact on tourists’ evaluation of touristdestinations. Regional image factors such as emotional image, cognitive image, and infrastructure all have a significant impact on tourist destination evaluation. As a tool to measure the experience of cultural tourists, the International Film Festival Image Scale has practical utility for successful festivals and stimulating the cultural desires of potential cultural tourists, and the influence relationship with regional image is significant as an attempt to understand the direction of regional economic revitalization through festivals.

Childhood Exposure to Psychological Trauma and the Risk of Suicide Attempts: The Modulating Effect of Psychiatric Disorders

Objective-We examined whether childhood exposure to psychological trauma is associated with greater suicidality and whether specific psychiatric disorders modulate this association in a representative sample of Korean adults. Methods-The Korean version of the Composite International Diagnostic Interview 2.1 was administered to 6,027 subjects aged 18–74 years. Subjects who experienced a traumatic event before the age of 18 years, the childhood-trauma-exposure group, were compared with controls without childhood trauma exposure. Results-Childhood exposure to psychological trauma was associated with lifetime suicidal ideation (OR=3.19, 95% CI=2.42–4.20), suicide plans (OR=4.15, 95% CI=2.68–6.43), and suicide attempts (OR=4.52, 95% CI=2.97–6.88). These associations weakened after further adjustment for any psychiatric disorders, but they were not eliminated. The risk of suicide attempts related to childhood trauma increased with the presence of a concurrent alcohol use, depressive, or eating disorder. Conclusion-In terms of clinical implications, patients with these disorders who have a history of childhood trauma should be carefully assessed for their suicide risk and aggressively treated for psychiatric disorders.

Incidence and Risk Factors of Vestibular Schwannoma in Korea : A Population-Based Study

Objective : This study aims to investigate the incidence of vestibular schwannoma (VS) and demographic characteristics in Korea using population-based National Health Insurance Service data. Methods : This study analyzed Korean National Health Insurance Service data from 2005 to 2020, based on the International Classification of Diseases, 10th version, Clinical Modification codes D333 and D431. Only those patients who had undergone magnetic resonance imaging and audiologic tests were considered definitive cases. Demographic variables included age, sex, treatment modality, hypertension, diabetics, dyslipidemia, smoking history, alcohol history, and income status. Results : The total number of VS patients was 5751. The average incidence rate was 0.71 per 100000 from 2005 to 2020, and the annual incidence rate increased from 0.33 in 2005 to 1.32 in 2019 but decreased to 0.80 in 2020. Incidence was highest in those aged 60–69 years (1.791) and lowest in those younger than 20 years (0.041). Incidence was higher in females, and the number of patients who received radiosurgery (46.64%) was largest compared to the wait and scan group (37.96%), microsurgery group (12.85%), or the group who received both (2.56%). Diabetes, dyslipidemia, and alcohol consumption increased the risk of VS, while cigarette smoking reduced the risk of VS. Conclusion : The incidence of VS exhibited an increasing trend from 2005 to 2019. Radiosurgery (46.64%) was the most common treatment modality. Diabetes, dyslipidemia, and alcohol consumption increased the risk of VS, while cigarette smoking reduced the risk of VS.

오리엔탈과실파리는 동남아시아에서 유래한 주요 검역해충으로써 북쪽으로 중국 본토, 인도의 고위도 지역 및 중국남부의 고지대까지 그 범위가 확산되고 있다. 우리는 오리엔탈과실파리의 알려진 분포와 계절적 발생동향, 확산경로로부터 오리엔탈과실파리가 월동가능한 상한선을 결정하였다. 이 상한선으로부터 CLIMEX의 종 매개변수를 결정하고 RCP8.5 기후변화 시나리오를 따르는 국내 미래 기후도를 이용하여 오리엔탈과실파리에 대한 향후 우리나라 의 기후적합성을 검정하였다. 국내에서의 기후적합성의 검토는 이 해충의 잠재적인 정착능력과 영향에 대한 중요한 정보를 제공한다.

How the Metaphors of Thermal Concepts Influence Consumer Purchase Behavior

은유적 표현과 그 연상이 소비자의 판단과 의사결정에 미치는 영향에 대한 최근 연구들이 있음에도 불구하고 온도와 관련된 은유적 표현에 대해서 소비자들의 어떻게 반응하고 차별적인 연상을 가지고 있는지에 관해서는 많은 연구가 수행되지 않았다. 본 탐색적 연구에서는 ‘뜨거운’ 또는 ‘차가운’ 과 같이 온도와 관련된 표현이 주는 은유적인 의미의 유사점과 차별점을 규명하고 그러한 은유적인 의미들이 소비자가 제품의 가치를 평가하는 것에 어떠한 영향을 미칠 수 있는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 저자들은 설문조사와 탐색적 인터뷰 기법을 통한 자료를 바탕으로 소매점에서의 제품 채택과 관련된 맥락에서 온도와 관련된 은유적 의미가 구매행동에 미치는 영향에 대한 개념적인 모형을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 개념적 모형은 향후 온도와 관련된 은유적 표현이 소비자의 의사결정에 미치는 차별적인 영향에 대한 실증연구를 수행하는데 지침이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다 Despite recent studies that suggest that the metaphoric links have a profound impact on consumer judgment and decision-making, we are unaware of any studies that focus on how consumers encode and retrieve thermal associations related to ‘hot’ and ‘cool’ before they react and behave according to the thermal metaphors. In order to fill the gap of research on the thermal metaphors related to hot and cool, this exploratory research examines the metaphorical similarities and differences of these two thermal concepts, hot and cool, and to propose a theoretical model that examines how these thermal concepts influence the value of the product which in turn, impacts consumers’ purchase behavior. Our exploratory interviews with young consumers after they participated in the structured survey, help us develop a theoretical model that examines the impact of thermal metaphoric concepts on purchase behavior in the product adoption context. We propose this model to guide subsequent empirical studies that examine the role of the thermal metaphoric concepts on consumers’ purchase decision making in retail environments..

Effects of ARCS Motivation strategy on learning motivation, academic engagement and academic achievement according to the level of learning motivation

This research has been performed targeting 32 of 4th grade students of M elementary school in Ansung, KyungGi-do in order to find out the effects of ARCS Motivation Strategy on learning motivation, academic engagement and academic achievement according to the level of learning motivation of learners. The major two issues of this research are that if learning motivation, academic engagement and academic achievement of elementary school students are correlated and what effects of the class with ARCS Motivation Strategy based on the level of learning motivation of learners are on learning motivation, academic engagement and academic achievement. The procedures are analyzing precedent studies of ARCS Motivation Strategy, writing 3-period teaching lessons focused on unit 2 of the 4th grade social studies and conducting an actual teaching. At this time, and academic engagement, Keller(1983)``s CIS was adopted for the measurement of learning motivation, NamHee Kim``s(2011),the translation of Skinner et al.,(2008) for that of academic engagement measurement. Before this, two experts of educational technology and three elementary teachers had checked the face validity of these measurements, and the preliminary survey had been conducted with two 4th grade primary students. In the case of academic achievement, the written scale fitted for academic goals and learning content was checked by two elementary school teachers. After selecting the subject of research, through an interview with a researcher, the class was intended with a teacher``s full understanding ARCS Motivation Strategy. As a post-test after the class with ARCS Motivation Strategy was done, learning motivation and academic engagement were tested and as for an academic achievement of learners, it was measured after every class. The result of the first major issue, if learning motivation, academic engagement and academic achievement of elementary school students are correlated, shows that learning motivation and academic engagement have positive relationship, but academic achievement has no relationship with learning motivation and academic engagement. The second major issue, that is, what effects of the class with ARCS Motivation Strategy based on the level of learning motivation of learners are on learning motivation, academic engagement and academic achievement, has no difference in learning motivation in the class with ARCS Motivation Strategy according to the level of learning motivation of learners, and an pre-existing motivation affects the next learning. In the case of academic engagement with ARCS Motivation Strategy according to the level of academic motivation of learners, the meaningful difference was shown that the level of learning motivation affects it. At last, there was no difference between academic engagement and achievement, suggesting that the level of learning motivation didn``t affect the academic achievement.
