        The National Assembly has twice amended the Lobor Management Relations Act in three months period. As a part of labor management relations reform movement, the legislation was originally aimed at : (1) Up-grading labor standards equal to advanced industrial countries, and (2) increasing labor market flexibility. This paper concentrates on collective labor relations aspects of the amendment for an evaluation and implications for future changes. Trade unions are now permitted to engage in political activities. Multiple unions are permitted to exist at national federation level in line with full protection of labor's right to organize. But multiple unions cannot exist in a single establishment until 2002, thus limiting the rights of labors who want to organize second or third union within the same firm. Full feedom of organization at establishment level will be granted with a provision to guarantee single bargaining channel, like American system of "exclusive bargaining representation election system". This paper extensively discusses about the American exclusive bargaining along with the concept of appropriate bargaining unit and election procedure in the hope that the legislators in the near future take this into consideration. The paper discusses about the limitation on "strike breaker employment", and "no work. no pay" principle which is beginning to take its ground in Korean industrial relations system.

        의과대학 교육과정 개편에 대한 인식과 교육과정 평가

        Purpose: The aim of this study is to identify the elements of success in curriculum reformation using focus group interview and faculty survey. Methods: We analyzed the 105 questionnaires that were collected horn 450 faculties in Yonsei University College of Medicine from September 1 to September 12, 2005. The interview of focus group was conducted to 105 faculty and students using 10 interview questions from July 25 to August 29, 2005. The data of focus group interview and faculty survey were analyzed by content analysis. frequency and percentile. Results : 66.7% of faculty have pointed out that it is right a direction of new curriculum but there are some problems in curriculum management. The most frequently addressed problem in the new curriculum is as follows : ability of self-directed learning(15.3%). deficiency of faculty understanding(10.5%). The faculty comments on the improvement areas of new curriculum such as curriculum revision (8.6%). efficiency of curriculum management (6.7%), reward and incentive system of education(6.7%). The focus groups pointed out the important factors of curriculum reformation such as horizontal and vertical integrity between subjects, improvement of student achievement test, enhancement of self-directed learning. responsibility and authorities of course director. Conclusions : It should be concluded. to succeed curriculum reformation, which the purpose of curriculum reformation announces obviously and management group should effort continuously so that professors may understand the new curriculum. The course directors have to responsibility and authorities operating the subjects and the university should develop the students' evaluation system and faculty performance appraisal system.

        <P>In this study, we investigated age-related changes in glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) immunoreactivity and its protein levels in the gerbil hippocampus during normal aging. In the postnatal month 3 (PM 3) group, GLP-1R immunoreaction was well observed in neurons, especially pyramidal and non-pyramidal cells in the hippocampus proper, and granule and polymorphic cells in the dentate gyrus. In the hippocampus proper, GLP-1R immunoreactivity in neurons was maintained until PM 24. In the dentate gyrus, however, GLP-1R immunoreactivity in granule cells, not polymorphic cells, was hardly detected from PM 6. Western blot analysis also showed that age-dependent change patterns in GLP-1R protein levels in the gerbil hippocampus were similar to the immunohistochemical changes. These results indicate that GLP-1R immunoreactivity was markedly decreased in dentate granule cells from PM 6, showing that GLP-1R immunoreactivity and its protein levels were decreased in the adult and aged gerbil hippocampus.</P>
