Calcium-doped barium titanate, Ba(1−x)CaxTiO3 (where x = 0.02,0.04,0.06 & 0.08)/BCT1,BCT2, BCT3 & BCT4, ferroelectric ceramics were synthesized by a microwave processing technique. For the formation of a single perovskite phase with a dense grain morphology, microwave sintering temperature was optimized at 1100 oC for 1 h. SEM characterization of the microwave sintered BCT samples showed dense and homogeneous packing of sub-micrometer size grains. The BCT2 system showed the highest room temperature (RT) dielectric constant (εr). The dielectric property vs. temperature behavior revealed a diffuse phase transition nature. The occurrence of polarization vs. electric field (P-E) loops confirmed the ferroelectric nature of the microwave sintered BCT samples.
SUPPLY CHAIN RESILIENCE – A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW
Sonia Irshad Mari,Young Hae Lee(이영해),Muhammad Saad Memon 한국경영과학회 2013 한국경영과학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2013 No.5
Supply chain today are more vulnerable than ever. Serious financial losses to organizations due to supply chain disruptions requires development of resilient supply chains. There is broad evidence by both the researchers and practitioners, that there is a great need to make more resilient supply chains due to the increasing complexities and in order to face and compete in this unstable, unpredictable and turbulent business environment. Due to importance of topic, the aim of this paper is to provide systematic literature review that provides comprehensive knowledge from dynamic and static perspective. Our research follows the systematic literature network analysis (SLNA) methodology for developing evidence informed knowledge management process. The present literature review gives a brief look at supply chain resilience and the emerging trends and issues in this area. The identified research directions can be helpful for the development of models for handling supply chain resilience issues.
Financial Integration and Economic Growth: Should Asia Emulate Europe?
Sonia Kumari Selvarajan,Rossazana Ab-Rahim 세종대학교 경제통합연구소 2020 Journal of Economic Integration Vol.35 No.1
The Asian financial crisis of 1997~1998 was the catalyst for the movement toward regional cooperation between Asian countries, having triggered the common interests and vulnerabilities among the affected nations. As a result, policymakers have resorted to financial integration to unleash their potentials. Nevertheless, this approach is still in its infancy, largely underpinned by the heterogeneity in institutional and structural characteristics of the financial systems between countries. The authorities are cautious, as there is a trade-off between liquidity of capital markets and financial/economic stability. Considering these scenarios, the present study attempts to examine the dynamic relationship between financial integration and growth in Asian regions. Specifically, this study aims to investigate the financial-growth nexus pre-crisis (1980~1995) and post-crisis (1998~2015) as well as throughout the study period (1980~2015). The results of this study show a significant financial-growth relationship pre-crisis, but the impact wanes in the post-crisis and overall time periods. The results indicate to policymakers the heterogeneous characteristics of each country and to what extent financial integration should be emulated from their European counterparts.

This study evaluated the moisturizing effect ofserine-loaded solid lipid nanoparticles (serine-SLN) andpolysaccharide-rich reed (Phragmites communis) rootextract (RRE) incorporated in hydrogel bases. The hydrogelswith serine-SLN and/or RRE were carefully appliedon the volar forearm of human volunteers. Their moisturizingefficacy was evaluated by monitoring conductancevalues using a skin surface hygrometer. The values of thearea under the normalized conductance-time curve(AUCC) were developed and compared as a parameter forthe water holding capacity of the skin. Hydrogels withserine-SLN did not significantly moisturize the skin, whilehydrogel containing 0.25% RRE produced a significantincrease in the moisture content of the skin. However, adding more than 0.25% of RRE into the hydrogel basedecreased the moisturizing effect due to the markedreduction of viscosity. Significantly enhanced moisturizingeffect was observed with the hydrogel containing 0.25%RRE and 3% serine-SLN, with AUCC increased 2.21 timescompared to than blank hydrogel. The results imply thateffective delivery of serine into the skin is possible usinglipid-based nanocarriers and RRE, which could be apromising strategy to moisturize the skin effectively.
Sales Maximization or Profit Maximization? How State Shareholders Discipline theirCEOs in China
Sonia Wong,Sonja Opper,Yong Yang 한국증권학회 2012 Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies Vol.41 No.3
This study examines the determinants of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) turnover in Chinese state-owned firms. Based on a sample of 1 555 turnover cases among listed firms in China during the period 1999–2003, we obtain three main results. First, CEO turnover is negatively related to the sales performance but not the profitability of the core business. Second, the negative relationship between CEO turnover and sales is stronger for firms with excessive employment and higher organizational slack. Third, there is a significant post-turnover increase in sales but a decline in profitability of the core business. Overall, our evidence suggests that state shareholders put a greater emphasis on sales generation than on profitability when they monitor their CEOs.

The aim of this work was to synthesize collagen α-tocopherulate for topical treatments. Collagen is a natural polymer largely applied to enhance wound repair, and α-tocopherol is a known antioxidant used for the treatment of various skin diseases. Linking the two through covalent bonds could improve α-tocopherol transport and metabolic stability, reduce the rate of degradation, and ensure a longer persistence than free antioxidant. The new biopolymer was prepared by a solid-phase synthesis employing a carboxypolystyrene resin. Its antioxidant activity in rat liver microsomal membranes was also evaluated. The obtained collagen-based biomaterial represents a new prodrug of α-tocopherol that could be used for various biomedical applications.
Reading Orality in Isabel Allende : A Study of Three Novels
Sonia Kotiah 한국라틴아메리카학회 2015 라틴아메리카연구 Vol.28 No.1
This article undertakes a comparative study of orality in selected works by Chilean author, Isabel Allende. According to this study, Allende`s outlook on orality operates as a means of communal as well as personal survival. Within underlying discussions of mestizaje and latinidad, orality is here viewed as a transformative narrative practice. Allende`s orality is presented as paradoxical because, though unwritten, it has the ability to preserve and to authenticate. The article presents orality as a continuing narrative process that attests to the cultural value of an ‘authentic’ Latin American identity, while also drawing attention to the predominantly female oral storytellers in these novels. Finally, it helps to explore the tension between silence and voice, folklore and sanctioned history, authentic experience and that constructed for a patriarchal ideology. An important medium of survival, Allende`s particular brand of orality ultimately constructs alternative narratives and realities. To this end, Eva Luna (1987), The Stories of Eva Luna (1989) and Paula (1994) will be discussed.
An Enhanced Copy-Move Forgery Detection based on Radon Binary Pattern
Sonia Carole Kouayep,Kyung-Hyune Rhee 한국정보통신학회 2014 2016 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE Vol.6 No.1
Recently blind image forensics which aims to assess the image authenticity has been raised a great awareness in multimedia security. One of the most popular methods among this category is copy-move forgery detection. This paper proposes an enhanced algorithm for detecting such forgeries in digital images. To deploy this approach, firstly, we divide the image into some overlapping blocks and then capture the intensity of the pixels in each block by utilizing the Radon Transform. Secondly to provide the computational efficiency of the Radon domain, we encode the micro-information of image to the Local Binary Pattern as feature vectors. Finally, in matching step, we use the Chi-square histogram-based distance to determine similar or duplicated blocks. The experimental results show that the proposed joint descriptors for extracting features vectors are very effective in accurate detection of copied regions even when these regions have undergone lossy compression. The detection accuracy and performance of our method in comparison to similar works, promising to be efficient even in detection rate.
Application of Game Theory to Cognitive Radio Networks for Power Allocation : An Overview
Sonia Garg,Poonam Mittal,Dr. C.K. Nagpal 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.8 No.5
Due to continuously increasing demand of wireless communication technology, the problem of spectrum shortage arises. Cognitive radio technology enables efficient utilization of the existing wireless spectrum resources. CRN utilizes spectrum band by allowing secondary users to use the spectrum opportunistically, by changing their transmission parameters. We need to analyze the performance of a wireless network. To analyze the performance of a wireless network, game theory is used due to its ability to model individual, independent decision makers. In this paper we model how game theory can be used to allocate power levels to different CR nodes in a CRN at physical layer to ensure a certain QoS.
