Electric Field Intensity Factors for Conducting Paths in Anisotropic Dielectric Bimaterials

Conducting paths in an anisotropic dielectric bimaterial as well as in a homogeneous anisotropic material subjected to electric loading are investigated. The conducting path problems are formulated by using a linear transformation method. Electric field intensity factors are obtained for conducting paths emanating from a surface electrode in an orthotropic material. The asymptotic problem of a kinked conducting path in dissimilar anisotropic dielectric materials is considered. The electric field intensity factor for the asymptotic problem is obtained in the infinite product form. To ascertain validity of the solution obtained from the linear transform method, numerical computations are carried out by using finite element method. The electric field intensity factor for a conducting path emanating from the vertex of a bimaterial wedge with a tilt boundary is also obtained in the closed form.

This paper investigates the progressive damage of filament wound composite tubes embedded within metal joints. Finite element analysis (FEA) modellings were provided through CADWIND filament wound simulation software, and progressive damage analysis of composite tubes was carried out using the Puck criterion under tensile loading. Besides, the ultimate tensile loading of composite tube was carried out. It was found that the inside metal joint extruded the outer composite layers, which resulted in further failure damage of the composite tubes. Furthermore, thickening the composite layer outside metal joint was beneficial to improve the tensile load of the composite tube. Moreover, the numerical results of the FEA provided a reasonably good agreement with the experimental results, which was less than 10 % on the ultimate tensile loading value. Finally, the FEA with the Puck criterion was suitable to predict the progressive damage of filament wound composite tube embedded with metal joints.
Analysis of the Three-Way Decision Rules in Online Learning-Taking a Calculus Course as an Example

To investigate the credibility of online examinations, we randomly chose 30 engineering students in Wenzheng College of Soochow University as a sample and established an informationsystem S. According to pedagogy theory, students’scores are related to their intelligencelevels, course basis, learning methods, and learning time. Therefore, in the information systemS, “score of early semester,” “average score of class quizzes,” “completion ratio of watchingvideos,” and “completion grade of homework” were taken as the condition attributes, and“score of final exam” was taken as the decision attribute. We applied the three-way decisionrules theory to provide positive, negative, and boundary decision rules for this informationsystem S. Furthermore, we obtained confidence in the decision rules. The results of this studyvalidate the credibility of online examinations and have certain guiding significance for onlineteaching and learning.

Background: Accurate serum total thyroxine (TT4) measurement is important for thyroid disorder diagnosis and management. We compared the performance of six automated immunoassays with that of isotope-diluted liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (ID-LC-MS/MS) as the reference method. We also evaluated the correlation of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) with TT4 measured by ID-LC-MS/MS and immunoassays. Methods: Serum was collected from 156 patients between October 2015 and January 2016. TT4 was measured by immunoassays from Abbott (Architect), Siemens (ADVIA Centaur XP), Roche (E601), Beckman-Coulter (Dxi800), Autobio (Autolumo A2000), and Mindray (CL-1000i), and by ID-LC-MS/MS. Results were analyzed using Passing–Bablok regression and Bland–Altman plots. Minimum requirements based on biological variation were as follows: a mean bias of ≤4.5% and total imprecision (CV) of ≤3.7%. Results: All immunoassays showed a correlation >0.945 with ID-LC-MS/MS; however, the slope of the Passing–Bablok regression line varied from 0.886 (Mindray) to 1.23 (Siemens) and the intercept from -12.8 (Siemens) to 4.61 (Mindray). Only Autobio, Beckman-Coulter, and Roche included the value of one in the 95% confidence interval for slope. The mean bias ranged from -10.8% (Abbott) to 9.0% (Siemens), with the lowest value noted for Roche (3.5%) and the highest for Abbott (-10.8%). Only Abbott and Roche showed within-run and total CV ≤3.7%. Conclusions: Though all immunoassays correlated strongly with ID-LC-MS/MS, most did not meet the minimum clinical requirement. Laboratories and immunoassay manufacturers must be aware of these limitations.

The aim of this paper is to examine the application of Javier Franco Aixelá’s culture-specific items (CSIs) translation strategies to Chinese-English translation of cursing expressions in David Hawkes’ English version of Hou Long Meng. On the basis of the analysis supported by the statistics of seven cursing expressions, this paper argues that only 4 of Aixelá’s 11 strategies are applicable, namely, Naturalization, Absolute universalization, Linguistic (non-cultural) translation and Deletion.

The development of educational cause for foreign students has already become a common developmental strategy; every developed country is actively intensifying propaganda, recruiting foreign students, and occupying the educational markets for foreign students, which has made the educational market for foreign students become more and more competitive. According to experts’ argumentation, Korean college students will gradually shrink from 2010 and serious surplus of education resources will happen in all the colleges and universities, because of Korean population birth rate declining and other reasons. On the other hand, senior officials of China's Ministry of Education said that gross enrollment rate of China's high school graduates will increase from the current 23% to 40% by 2020. This will undoubtedly provide new opportunities and challenges for Korean higher education. How to exert Korean advantage and open the market of Chinese students abroad already becomes a subject what many Korean higher education institutions and educators are thinking about.
Model Predictive Control-based Trajectory Planning for Quadrotors with State and Input Constraints

A novel scheme to solve the trajectory planning problem for quadrotors with model and state constraints is proposed. First the RRT (Rapidly-exploring Random Tree) algorithm is employed to generate an initial route in context of a 3D environment. Then with the model of quadrotoer, the MPC (Model Predictive Control) method is used to construct an inner simulator which can generate the trajectories satisfying the state constraints by following the waypoints exported by the RRT solution. Finally, the trajectory generation of quadrotors with state and input constraints is transformed into a general form of QP problem, which can be solved expediently by common numerical algorithms. The proposed scheme can generates high-quality and feasible trajectories satisfying both state constraints and input constraints, which is verified sufficiently by extensive simulations.

An improved reinforced method used for concrete columns strengthened with angle steel and self-compacting concrete is proposed. Static loading experiments for sixteen specimens were carried out to study the infl uences of angle steels and batten plates spacing on axial compression bearing capacity of the concrete columns reinforced by the proposed method. The results show that axial compression bearing capacity increases signifi cantly; angle steels and concrete column can be eff ectively united to resist the loads from superstructure because of self-compacting concrete; the increase of area of angle steel and the decrease of batten plates spacing can eff ectively increase axial compression bearing capacity of the reinforced columns.
SSF: Sentence Similar Function Based on word2vector Similar Elements

In this paper, to improve the accuracy of long sentence similarity calculation, we proposed a sentence similaritycalculation method based on a system similarity function. The algorithm uses word2vector as the systemelements to calculate the sentence similarity. The higher accuracy of our algorithm is derived from twocharacteristics: one is the negative effect of penalty item, and the other is that sentence similar function (SSF)based on word2vector similar elements doesn’t satisfy the exchange rule. In later studies, we found the timecomplexity of our algorithm depends on the process of calculating similar elements, so we build an index ofpotentially similar elements when training the word vector process. Finally, the experimental results show thatour algorithm has higher accuracy than the word mover’s distance (WMD), and has the least query time ofthree calculation methods of SSF.
