Why are CEOs not active on social media? It is increasingly critical for CEOs to not only be physically present at work but also be virtually present in the digital sphere. However, many CEOs are still reluctant to adapt social media or struggle to find the efficient approach to incorporate the tools into their communication strategy. The study explores how CEOs orient themselves in the digital world and make sense of social media. In particular, based on the view of impression management and institutional work, the research examines how CEOs translate their understanding into communication and selfpresentation strategies and activities. The results from 31 in-depth interviews with Chinese and Dutch CEOs suggest that leadership communication on social media is still going through the process of legitimisation in both institutions. Despite the growing popularity of personal branding, most CEOs do not interpret social media as the outlet for their personal and private use or independent from the organisational identities. While most CEOs champion the necessity of digital transformation for their organisations, they do not see clearly how their personal digital habits could potentially influence the process, despite their leadership roles. They typically identify social media as the functional platforms for information circulation and network connection. Multiple narratives and orientations do, however, coexist and they dictate social media decisions simultaneously depending on the context. There is also a prominent difference between the narratives of social media in the Netherlands and in China. Most Dutch CEOs wish active engagement from the organisations but practice passive roles themselves, while most Chinese CEOs are active for both personal and organisational use pressured by the intuitional norms. The research highlights the significance of cultural context regarding leadership communication even on social media. Given most platforms are designed, and arranged to have an international audience, CEOs and companies should be aware of distinctive norms and beliefs they are operated in the different societal institutions.

Background and Purpose The effects of high-intensity cycling as an adjuvant therapy forearly-stage Parkinson’s disease (PD) were highlighted recently. However, patients experience difficultiesin maintaining these cycling training programs. The present study investigated the efficacyof cycling at a mild-to-moderate intensity in early-stage PD. Methods Thirteen PD patients were enrolled for 16 serial cycling sessions over a 2-month period. Motor function was assessed using the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale part III(UPDRS III) and Timed Up and Go (TUG) test as primary outcomes. The Montreal CognitiveAssessment (MoCA), modified Hoehn and Yahr Stage (mHYS), total UPDRS, Falls EfficacyScale, New Freezing of Gait Questionnaire, Schwab and England Activities of Daily Living, 39-item Parkinson’s Disease Questionnaire, Patient Global Impression of Change, and gait performancewere assessed as secondary outcomes. Results The age and the age at onset were 59.67±7.24 and 53.23±10.26 years (mean±SD), respectively. The cycling cadence was 53.27±8.92 revolutions per minute. The UPDRS III scoreimproved significantly after 8 training sessions (p=0.011) and 16 training sessions (T2) (p=0.001) in the off-state, and at T2 (p=0.004) in the on-state compared to pretraining (T0). TheTUG duration was significantly shorter at T2 than at T0 (p<0.05). The findings of MoCA, totalUPDRS, double limb support time, and mHYS (in both the off- and on-states) also improvedsignificantly at T2. Conclusions Our pioneer study has demonstrated that a low-intensity progressive cycling exercisecan improve motor function in PD, especially akinesia. The beneficial effects were similarto those of high-intensity rehabilitation programs.

<P>The 21st century has brought with it a strong push in the automotive industry to develop energy technologies that can better address the global challenges posed by the depletion of finite fossil fuel resources and the pollution caused by using these fossil fuels as an energy resource. The two key words dominating automotive powertrain research today, therefore, are efficiency and emissions-There is a strong push for cars that burn less fuel and emit fewer pollutants. Some of the technologies in the spotlight include fuel cells, batteries, hybrid powertrains, and advanced IC engine strategies. Though fuel cells and battery technologies are very promising in the long-term future, they are currently more expensive and less practical than hybrid and advanced combustion engine strategies and are expected to remain so in the near future. In addition, technological advances that have made electronic control systems ubiquitous in todays automobiles have enabled combustion strategies that would not have been possible even a decade ago. One such advanced engine strategy that presents significant opportunities for reduced emissions and higher efficiencies is homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI).</P>

Background and Purpose It is essential to develop a reliable predictive serum biomarker for Parkinson’s disease (PD). Te accumulation of alpha-synuclein (αSyn) and up-regulated expression of Rab35 participate in the etiology of PD. Te purpose of this investigation was to determine whether the combined assessment of serum αSyn and Rab35 is a useful predictive biomarker for PD. Methods Serum levels of αSyn or Rab35 were determined in serum samples from 59 sporadic PD patients, 19 progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) patients, 20 multiple system atrophy (MSA) patients, and 60 normal controls (NC). Receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curves were calculated to determine the diagnostic accuracy of αSyn or/and Rab35 in discriminating PD patients from NC or atypical parkinsonian patients. Results The levels of αSyn and Rab35 were increased in PD patients. The serum level of Rab35 was positively correlated with that of αSyn in PD patients. Compared to analyzing αSyn or Rab35 alone, the combined analysis of αSyn and Rab35 produced a larger area under the ROC curve and performed better in discriminating PD patients from NC, MSA patients, or PSP patients. When age was dichotomized at 55, 60, 65, or 70 years, the combined assessment of αSyn and Rab35 for classifying PD was better in the group below the cutof age than in the group above the cutof age. Conclusions Combined assessment of serum αSyn and Rab35 is a better biomarker for discriminating PD patients from NC or atypical parkinsonian patients, and is a useful predictive biomarker for younger sporadic PD patients.

Objective : The purpose of the study is to compare the effects and efficacy of both treatments. Methods : 2 groups were divided among 6 patients who admitted to Jeonju Wonkwang hospital attached to Wonkwang University from 2009. jan. 1 to 2009. feb. 28 were diagnosed as herniated lumbar disc by lumbar CT or MRI. Each groups were treated by decompression therapy and chuna traetment daily and were measured under visual analogue scale and ODI score starting from the day of admission, after 1week, and second week to compare the results. Results and Conclusions : Decompression therapy and chuna treatment both showed effects on treating the patients though chuna traetment apparently revealed to be slightly more efficient. Due to the lack of abundant clinical data it was not objective in a strict sense but it was clinically meaningful enough.

<P>In addition to their critical roles in folliculogenesis and ovarian granulosa cell steroidogenesis, gonadotropins have been implicated as potential risk factors in ovarian epithelial carcinomas, most of which are derived from ovarian surface epithelium (OSE). However, the molecular mechanism underlying the effects of FSH and LH in OSE and its neoplastic counterpart is not well understood. We previously demonstrated that gonadotropins promote the growth of OSE cells by regulating the levels of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) via the activation of ERK1/2 and PI3K pathways in immortalized human OSE (IOSE) cells. In this study, we investigated whether cAMP and its novel binding target, named exchange protein activated by cAMP (Epac), are involved in the gonadotropin-induced EGFR expression in OSE cells. Gonadotropins elevated intracellular cAMP levels in both IOSE and granulosa cells, and this increase was attenuated by SQ22536, an inhibitor of adenylyl cyclase (AC). The activation of the ERK1/2 and Akt pathways as well as the expression of EGFR was stimulated by reagents that elevate intracellular cAMP levels, via cAMP analog 8-bromo-cAMP and AC activator forskolin. A similar increase was observed when the cells were treated with a novel cAMP analog, 8-(4-chlorophenylthio)-2'-O-methyl adenosine-3',5'-cyclic monophosphate (8-CPT-2ME-cAMP), which activates Epac specifically but not PKA. Moreover, the gonadotropin-induced EGFR expression and ERK1/2 and Akt activation were abolished by overexpression of dominant negative Epac. Taken together, these results indicate that the AC/cAMP/Epac signaling pathway may mediate the up-regulation of EGFR by gonadotropins via ERK1/2 and Akt activation.</P>

Objectives : This study aimed to understand the satisfaction degree of patients due to traffic accident(TA) in order to provide basic data which would give help not only to improve the quality of services, but also to strengthen the competitiveness of oriental medical hospitals on sequela of TA patients. Methods : The data were collected from inpatients and outpatients who answered a self-report questionnaire. Independent t-test, analysis of variance(ANOVA), X2-test, correlation analysis were used for data analysis. Results : According to the research on medical satisfaction degree, the overall satisfaction degree was 4.141. On each field, satisfaction degree related to the doctor service recorded the highest degree among others(4.474). Satisfaction degree related to the appropriateness of service was the second(4.091). On the other hand, satisfaction degree of using procedure was the lowest degree(3.857). On the difference of degrees of satisfaction by general characteristics, patients who were unemployed·houseworker group showed lower doctor service satisfaction degree than that of other groups. However, on the difference of degrees of satisfaction related to other general characteristics, there were no signigicant differences(p<0.05). Conclusions : The service distribution of oriental medical hospital was almost equal without concentrating on specified social classes.
