Study of Consumer Perception for Clothing Comfort and Garment Attributes

        Sobh Thebo,Samander Ali Malik,Naveed Mengal,Raja Fahad Ashraf,정성훈 한국섬유공학회 2021 한국섬유공학회지 Vol.58 No.2

This research aims to determine consumer perceptions on clothing comfort and the importance of clothing attributes. A questionnaire survey was conducted to evaluate consumers’ perceptions toward clothing comfort. Multivariate statistical tools, namely principal component analysis and analysis of variance, were used to analyze the data. The findings of the study indicate that most consumers prefer thermophysiological comfort. According to the consumers, the most significant clothing attributes are comfortable feel, fabric quality, fabric softness, fit, and color. The results of this study can therefore be used as a guideline to ensure the comfort needs of consumers and to make effective decisions for product development and marketing of ready-to-wear garments.

Adipogenesis of Sprague Dawely rats mesenchymal stem cells: a morphological, immunophenotyping and gene expression follow-up study

        Mohamed A Sobh 대한해부학회 2014 Anatomy & Cell Biology Vol.47 No.2

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) offer significant promise as a multipotent source for cell-based therapies and could form the basis for the differentiation and cultivation of tissue grafts to replace damaged tissue. However, no gene expression follow up analysis has been undertaken to characterize the in vitro adipogenic differentiated MSCs. The main goal of this study was to focus on MSCs and to analyze their differentiation capacity. To achieve this aim, bone marrow MSCs from sprague dawely rats were isolated, expanded in monolayer culture and characterized with respect to their cluster of differentiation (CD) and ability for adipogenic differentiation capacity. The expression of CD44, CD45, CD29, CD34, and CD90 on bone marrow derived MSCs was characterized using flow cytometry. Adipogenesis was determined by staining with oil-red O and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction assessments of lipoprotein lipase, leptin, adiponectin and adipocyte genes at different time intervals, after 4, 7, 14, and 21 days. Our results revealed that the pattern of CD marker expression was highly positive significant with CD29, CD44, and CD90 when compared with CD34 and CD45. MSCs showed proliferative potential and were capable of adipogenic differentiation characterized by reddish brown-droplets following staining with oil-red O and expression of molecular bands of genes. These results demonstrate, at the morphological, immunophenotyping and gene expression levels, the multipotency of MSCs and thus highlight their potential therapeutic value for cell-based tissue engineering.

Polyamide 6/tallow modified clay nanofibrous mat coupled with hydrogels for potential topical/transdermal delivery of doxycycline hydrochloride

        Shehab-ElDin Amira Nagy,Sobh Rokaya Aly,Rabie Abdelgawad Mohamed,Mohamed Wael Sabry,Nasr Hanaa Elsayed 한국약제학회 2023 Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation Vol.53 No.2

Purpose Current innovations in pharmaceutical industries involve the design of functionalized materials for drug delivery applications. Hybrid-bilayer patches of electrospun polyamide 6/tallow modified clay nanocomposite fibers coupled with hydrogels comprising sodium alginate (NaAlg), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), or a mixture of both were developed. Methods The hydrogel precursors were crosslinked either ionically using a CaCl2 solution or physically through repeated freezing–thawing cycles to avoid toxic crosslinking agents. Doxycycline hydrochloride was loaded either by adsorption or active loading methods. The hybrid bilayer patches were evaluated for their physicochemical and morphological properties. Furthermore, in vitro drug release studies in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) (pH 7.4) and acetate buffer (pH 5.5) were performed, along with antimicrobial activity and toxicity tests. Results An increase in the NaAlg ratio caused a gradual decrease in the gel content while greatly increasing the swelling ability. Porous structures were also produced. The in-vitro drug release profiles and corresponding kinetics were mainly dependent on structural factors. An initial burst release was observed from the CaAlg nanofibers (approximately 61.5% ± 0.68% and 52% ± 1.22% of the drug was released during the first 2 h in PBS and acetate buffer, respectively), whereas a relatively slow release rate was achieved from the nanofibers of the physically crosslinked PVA or PVA/NaAlg. The antimicrobial test confirmed that the loaded drug retained its antimicrobial efficacy. The toxicity test using the “Microtox analyzer model 500” exhibited EC50 ≥ 100, indicating no toxic effect against the luminescent marine bacteria Vibrio fischeri. Conclusion The fabricated functionalized patches showed great potential for topical/transdermal drug delivery.

Analysis of edge defects in an elastic plate using SH-waves

        Brahim Mohammedi,Nahil A Sobh,Diab Abueidda,Belgacem-Bouzida Aissa 대한기계학회 2019 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.33 No.1

The interaction of guided SH-waves with the beveled free end of a semi-infinite plate is analytically and numerically investigated. The material of the plate is assumed to be elastic, homogenous, and isotropic. The plate is modeled as a combination of a semi-infinite region and bounded wedged region separated by a common boundary. The analytical solution of the vertical free end case for the two regions is derived and used in verifying the numerical implementation. In this study, the SH 0 and the SH 1 first two incident modes are individually applied to analyze the corresponding reflected modes from the free end. Specifically, the elastic energy carried by the reflected modes is reported for a wide range of beveled angles and incident frequencies.

Tailoring of anticancer drugs loaded in MWCNT/Poly(MMA-co-HEMA) nanosphere composite by using in situ microemulsion polymerization

        W. S. Mohamed,R. A. Sobh,H. E. Nasr,A. B. Moustafa 한국약제학회 2019 Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation Vol.49 No.1

Synthesis of multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)/Poly(methyl methacrylate-co-2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) P(MMAco- HEMA) nanocomposite loaded with either of curcumin and its water soluble derivative as two models of anticancer drugs was achieved via in situ microemulsion polymerization technique by using different ratios from multi-walled carbon nanotube MWCNT to drug. The homogenous dispersion of MWCNTs inside the polymer matrix and well defined nanospheres were proved by TEM and X-ray diffraction XRD. The performance of MWCNT/polymer nanocomposite as drug carrier was examined with respect to the drug content, entrapment efficiency, nano-sphere morphology, thermal stability and in-vitro drug release. Drugs could be loaded in higher content with high Entrapment Efficiency values with improved thermal stability that increased with MWCNT ratio. The in-vitro drug release studies from MWCNT/Poly(MMA-co-HEMA) nanocomposite showed prolonged controlled release in the intestinal fluid pH 7.4 and lost a few amount ≤ 8% of the drug in the stomach fluid pH 1.2.

      • Synchronization of SA and AV Node Oscillators Using PSO Optimized RBF-based Controllers and Comparison with SMC

        Abdolhossein Ayoubi,Moharram Kazemi,Mohammad Sadegh Sanie,Saman Sobh Heydari 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Bio-Science and Bio-Techn Vol.8 No.2

This paper studies the synchronization of SA and AV Node Oscillators using PSO optimized RBF-based controllers systems. High levels of control activities may excite unmodeled dynamics of a system. This matter changes the rules of controlling the system and achieving an acceptable control performance. In fact, the objective here is to reach a trade-off between tracking performance and parametric uncertainty. Two methods are proposed to synchronize the general forms of Van Der Pol (VDP) Model and their performance. These methods use the radial basis function (RBF)- based neural controllers for this purpose. The first method uses a standard RBF neural controller. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is used to derive and optimize the parameters of the RBF controller. In the second method, with the aim of increasing the robustness of the RBF controller, an error integral term is added to the equations of RBF neural network. For this method, the coefficients of the error integral component and the parameters of RBF neural network are also derived and optimized via PSO algorithm. For better comparison, simulation results show the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed methods in both performances in comparison with SMC controller.
