Design and Implementation of Instantaneous Power Estimation Algorithm for Unified Power Conditioner
Sindhu S.,Sindhu M. R.,T. N. P. Nambiar 전력전자학회 2019 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.19 No.3
This paper discusses a simple control approach for a Unified Power Conditioner (UPC) system to achieve power quality compensation at the point of common coupling in distribution systems. The proposed Instantaneous Power Estimation Algorithm (IPEA) for shunt and series active power filters uses a simple mathematical concept that reduces the complexity in the design of the controller. The performance of a UPC is verified with a system subjected to voltage distortions, sags/swells and unbalanced loads using MATLAB/SIMULINK. The simulation study shows that a UPC with the proposed control algorithm can effectively compensate for voltage and current harmonics, unbalance and reactive power. The control algorithm is experimentally implemented using dSPACE DS1104 and its effectiveness has been verified.

A Comparative Analysis on the Growth Stage of E-Business : Focusing on Korea and India
Sindhu Prabha Ramaraju,Sang-Tae Kim,Changsu Kim 한국디지털융합학회 2017 IJICTDC Vol.2 No.2
This paper points out the stages of e-business growth in two countries: Korea and India. Qualitative approach of interview method was adopted and interviews were carried with 15 ebusiness experts for each country. The results are statistically analyzed. Inside of the stages of ebusiness growth, the influencing factors like social, economic, political and technical aspects are deeply investigated. All these factors have sub-factors that affects the growth of the e-business. With varied factors and sub- factors deep study, it is highlighted that Korean e-businesses are in transformation phase and Indian e-businesses are in growth stage. After the result, the further implications are narrated.
An ANN Controlled Three-Phase Auto-Tuned Passive Filter for Harmonic and Reactive Power Compensation
Sindhu M.R,Manjula Nair,T.N.P. Nambiar 전력전자학회 2009 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.9 No.3
Automatically tuned passive filters can improve power quality to a great extent in power systems. A novel three-phase shunt auto-tuned filter is designed to effectively compensate source current harmonics and to provide reactive power required by the non-linear load, which draws a highly reactive, harmonic-rich current from the supply. An artificial neural network (ANN) based controller selects filter component values in accordance with reactive power requirement and harmonic compensation. Traditional passive filters are permanently connected to the system and draw large amounts of source current even under light load conditions. By using auto-tuned filters, the passive filter components can be controlled according to load variations and, hence, draw only required source currents. The selection is done by the ANN with the help of a properly tuned knowledge base to provide instantaneous compensation using a digital controller.

A novel algorithm for joint user selection and optimal power allocation for Stackelberg game‐based revenue maximization in a downlink non‐orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) network is proposed in this study. The condition for the existence of optimal solution is derived by assuming perfect channel state information (CSI) at the transmitter. The Lagrange multiplier method is used to convert the revenue maximization problem into a set of quadratic equations that are reduced to a regular chain of expressions. The optimal solution is obtained via a univariate iterative procedure. A simple algorithm for joint optimal user selection and power calculation is presented and exhibits extremely low complexity. Furthermore, an outage analysis is presented to evaluate the performance degradation when perfect CSI is not available. The simulation results indicate that at 5‐dB signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR), revenue of the base station improves by at least 15.2% for the proposed algorithm when compared to suboptimal schemes. Other performance metrics of NOMA, such as individual user‐rates, fairness index, and outage probability, approach near‐optimal values at moderate to high SNRs.
Rietveld refinement and impedance spectroscopy of calcium titanate
Monica Sindhu,Neetu Ahlawat,Sujata Sanghi,Ashish Agarwal,Reetu Dahiya,Navneet Ahlawat 한국물리학회 2012 Current Applied Physics Vol.12 No.6
Single phase perovskite CaTiO3 has been synthesized by conventional solid state reaction technique. The ceramic was characterized by XRD at room temperature and its Rietveld refinement inferred orthorhombic crystal structure with the space group Pbnm. The field dependence of dielectric relaxation and conductivity was measured over a wide frequency range from room temperature to 673 K. Analysis of Nyquist plots of CaTiO3 revealed the contribution of many electrically active regions corresponding to bulk mechanism, distribution of grain boundaries and electrode processes. The dc conductivity depicted a semiconductor to metal type transition. Frequency dependence of dielectric constant (ε') and tangent loss (tan δ) show a dispersive behavior at low frequencies and is explained on basis of Maxwell-Wagner model and Koop’s theory. Both conductivity and electric modulus formalisms have been employed to study the relaxation dynamics of charge carriers. The variation of ac conductivity with frequency at different temperatures obeys the universal Jonscher’s power law (σac α ωs). The values of exponent ‘s’ lie in the range 0.13 ≤ s ≤ 0.33, which in light of CBH model suggest a large polaron hopping type of conduction mechanism.

The purpose of the present objective is to elucidate the folklore use of the plant, Mirabilis jalapa and Mirabilis japonica as potential anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive. This present study is emphasised on the combined effect of the hydroalcoholic leaf extract as antiinflammatory and antinociceptive. Hydroalcoholic extract of the leaves was prepared by repetitive maceration. The anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated by using carrageenan induced paw edema models in Wistar albino rats while the antinociceptive effect was evaluated using acetic acid induced writhing model and Tail immersion method in Swiss albino mice. The anti-inflammatory activity was found to be dose dependent in carrageenan-induced paw edema model. The extract has shown significant (P<0.05) inhibition of paw oedema, 23.384 and 34.923 on 3rd hour at the doses of 100 and 200 mg/kg, respectively. Similarly animal model for antinociceptive activity i.e. acetic acid induced writhing and Tail immersion produced significant analgesic activity. In acetic acid induced writhing and tail immersion the extract at 20, 50 and 70 mg/kg (P<0.001) showed significant activity. The results of present study demonstrate that hydroalcoholic extract of the leaves possess significant (P<0.05) anti-inflammatory potential and (P<0.001) antinociceptive activity.
