Purpose: Immediate identification of vascular injury requiring embolization in patients with pelvic bone fracture isn’t an easy task. There have been many trials finding indicators of embolization for patients with pelvic bone fracture. Although Young and Burgess classification is useful in decision making of treatment, it is reported to have little value as indicator of embolization in major trauma patients. The aim of this study is to find out Young and burgess classification on predicting vessel injury by analzyng pelvic radiograph taken from major trauma patients with pelvic bone fracture. Methods: Among major trauma patients with injury severity scores (ISS) higher than 15 who visited our emergency room from January 2011 to June 2014, 200 patients were found with pelvic bone fracture in trauma series and thus pelvic CT angiography was taken. Setting aside patients with exclusion criteria, 153 patients were enrolled in this study for analysis of Young and Burgess classification. Results: The most common mechanism of injury was lateral compression in both groups. There was no statistical significant difference in Young and Burgess classification (p=0.397). The obturator artery was the most commonly injured artery in both groups. Six patients had more than one site of bleeding. Conclusion: Prediction of transcatheter angiographic embolization using Young and Burgess classification in severe trauma patients is difficult and requires additional studies. Water quality of Young San river was examined for 3 months from April 12, 1989. to Jun 12, 1989. For checking the water quality 4 sampling position were selected. The results we obtained are as follows. 1. The average for Young San river was 6.6∼7.4 of pH, 3.6∼8.7mg/ℓof Dissolved dxygen (DO), 18.67∼33.47mg/ℓof chemical oxygen demand (COD), 47.66∼250mg/ℓ of suspended solid (SS), 37.83∼114.66mg/ℓ of N-hexane abstraction maters, 5.16∼6.63mg/ℓ of BOD. 2. The monthly average for Young San river was 6.5∼7.5 pH,3.5∼10.4mg/ℓ of DO. 15.07∼48.90mg/ℓ COD, 6.2∼10.2 mg/ℓ of BOC, 2∼250mg/ℓ of SS. 2∼124mg/ℓ of N-hexane abstraction mater, in April, 6.2∼7.5 of pH, 3.5∼8.2mg/ℓ of DO, 2.4∼5.7mg/ℓ BOD, 18.21∼32mg/ℓ of COD, 16∼123mg/ℓ of SS, 9.5∼95mg/ℓ of N-hexane abstraction matter, in May 6.9∼7.5 of pH, 3.8∼7.50mg/ℓ of pH, 3.8∼7.50mg/ℓ of DO, 4.0∼5.8mg/ℓ of BOD, 18.23∼of COD, 123∼163mg/ℓ of SS, 102∼125mg/ℓ of N-hexane abstraction matter in Jun. 3. The sampling positions averag for Young San San river was 6.9∼7.5 of pH, 7.5∼10.4mg/ℓ of DO, 15.07∼22.8mg/ℓ of COD, 3.5∼6.2mg/ℓ of BOD, 2∼125mg/ℓ of ss, 2∼102mg/ℓ of N-hexane abstraction matter in posiction 1.7.3∼7.5 of pH, 6.0∼7.5mg/ℓ of DO, 46.25∼52.05mg/ℓ of COD, 2.4∼8.5mg/ℓ of BOD, 58∼123mg/ℓ of SS, 62∼120mg/ℓ of N-hexane abstration matter in position 2. 6.2∼7.3 of pH, of pH, 4.23∼6.7mg/ℓ of DO, 4.9∼7,9mg/ℓ of BOD, 18.23∼36.75mg/ℓ of COD, 89∼152mg/ℓ of SS, 75∼123mg/ℓ of N-hexane abstraction matter, in position 3, 6.5∼7.2 of pH, 4.0∼10.2mg/ℓ of BOD, 3.5∼3.82mg/ℓ of DO, 23.6∼52.32mg/ℓ of COD, 123∼250mg/ℓ of SS, 95∼125mg/ℓ of N-hexane abstraction matter in position 4.

The effective Young's modulus of a microfibril surrounded by water may be simply calculated by using the upper (Voigt) and lower (Reuss) bounds. The result is compared to the Young's modulus estimated by using the Steered Molecular Dynamics (SMD) (Zhang et al. 2007). Our result shows 9.2% difference from the result estimated by SMD, but the steps using these bounds are much simpler than SMD..

In the automobile industry, the service life of gaskets is defined as the time until which a released gasket recovers 60 % of the original compression. It was observed that the recovery curves of gaskets were highly nonlinear at high temperatures, and relatively nonlinear at temperatures above the room temperature. However, it was also noted that the recovery curves of the gaskets at temperatures below room temperature exhibited linearity with respect to the ln(time). Automotive manufacturers demand gasket life criteria that exceed a specific time or the entire life of a car. In the case of gaskets used at lower temperatures, since materials encounter losses in its flexibility and conformability, the definition of service life specifying a 60 % recovery may not be sufficiently safe to eliminate possible leakages. In this study, new gasket life criteria that could be used at low temperatures were proposed. The new criteria were proposed based on the change in Young’s modulus of the gasket material in order to conserve the sealing capability.

Splenic marginal zone lymphoma is very rare B-cell lymphoma, characterized by an indolent clinical course. Clinical features are moderate-to severe splenomegaly, absolute lymphocytosis, and bone marrow intrasinusoidal infiltration of lymphocyte. We report the case of a 37-year-old male with SMZL. He complained of LUQ pain, who had a massive splenomegaly and moderate lymphocytosis in peripheral blood. Immunophenotyping findings and morphologic findings were consistent with SMZL. He underwent splenectomy and received chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide for eight months. Now, one year later after surgery he has a nearly normal blood count with no treatment.

This study focuses on the inspect of effective net area design code, according to limited state design criteria of steel structures, recently established in Korea, by an experiment on the joint of angle tension members on the ground. reduction factor. The methods of this study were to compare other study results on effective net area rupture mode and ultimate capacity, and to evaluate the propriety of the criteria design code. The result is that code in force limited state design criteria of steel structures and AISC-LRFD joint of angle tension members predicted load and experiment depend on ultimate capacity difference. Therefore, it is thought that there is need for supplemental test and study to effective net area of tension joint focused on bolted connection of angle.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of immediate or delayed composite resin filling on dentinal microtensile bond strength (μTBS) after applied the adhesive. The coronal dentin of human third molars was exposed. Single-Bond or One-Step was applied on the dentin surfaces, and composite resin were constructed immediately (group 1) or 5 min., 10 min., 15 min., 20 min. and 30 min. (groups 2-6) after an adhesive was applied. The specimens were sectioned and made bar-shaped. Each surface area of them was about l ㎟. The RBS test was performed by EZ test. The results were analysed by One-way ANOVA and Tukey's test at 95 % significance level. The results suggested that the μTBS of Single-Bond to dentin was decreased when the composite resin was constructed 20 min. and 30 min. after Single-Bond was applied. But the μTBS of One-Step was not affected by delayed composite resin filling.

For the study on the effects of sodium fluoride on growing rats, 30mg/kg and 60mg/kg of sodium fluoride administered orally with gastric tube for 1 week, 2 weeks and 3 weeks from the 8th day after birth. At the end of each experimental week in the control, 30mg/kg/day treated group and 60mg/kg/day treated group, the body weight, the thickness of proximal epiphyseal cartilage of tibia and condylar cartilage of mandible were measured and compared with each other. Also, the changes of ameloblasts and its layers of maxillary and mandibular molar teeth were observed with light microscope. The results were as followings; 1. The growth rate of young rats treated with NaF was decreased significantly compared with control group. 2. The thickness of proximal epiphyseal cartilage of tibia and condylar cartilage of mandible in NaF-treated rats were decreased significantly at the end of the first experimental week. 3. The ossification of cartilages of proximal tibia and mandibular condyle was inhibited markedly in the rats treated with NaF for 3 weeks. 4. In all experimental rats, the subameloblastic cyats were found at the secretory zone of maxillary and mandibular molar teeth.

The differences of the liver scintigraphic features between postnecrotic and nonpostnecrotic liver cirrhosis were studied for 69 patients. Degrees of mottling and splenomegaly were no different between two groups but shrinked form was more frequent finding in postnecrotic type(23:10), and normal shape & enlarged left lobe with shrinked right lobe were relatively dominant in non-postnecrotic group(15:6, 10:2). Grade of extrahepatic uptake of ^99mTc-tin colloid was significantly higher in Child-Pugh B & C group than A group(p<0.05), but there was no difference between postnecrotic and non-postnecrotic groups. These will be important results on the dicision for the presence of cirrhosis according to the variable causes.
