Medical Image Segmentation Based on Morphology Algorithm and FCM Algorithm
Shigang Wang,Zhinan Rong,Xueshan Gao 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.9 No.10
Fuzzy c-means algorithm is an unsupervised clustering algorithm, its clustering process can reduce the human intervention, and it is suitable for processing medical images of uncertainty and ambiguity. When simply using FCM algorithm in brain image segmentation will leads to the condition of low accuracy. On the basis of FCM algorithm, this paper proposes a new method which combines FCM algorithm and morphology algorithm. The result of simulation shows that this method can accurately and efficiently segment the brain image. The new algorithm is an effective method for image segmentation.
Study on failure mechanism of line contact structures of nuclear graphite
Jia Shigang,Yi Yanan,Wang Lu,Liu Guangyan,Ma Qinwei,Sun Libin,Shi Li,Ma Shaopeng 한국원자력학회 2022 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.54 No.8
Line contact structures, such as the contact between graphite brick and graphite tenon, widely exist in high-temperature gas-cooled reactors. Due to the stress concentration effect, the line contact area is one of the dangerous positions prone to failure in the nuclear reactor core. In this paper, the failure mechanism of line contact structures composed of IG11 nuclear graphite column and brick were investigated by means of experiment and finite element simulation. It was found that the failure process mainly includes three stages: firstly, the damage accumulation in nuclear graphite material led to the characteristic yielding of the line contact structure, but no macroscopic failure can be observed at this stage; secondly, the stresses near the contact area met Mohr failure criterion, and a crack initiated and propagated laterally in the contact zone, that is, local macroscopic failure occurred at this stage; finally, a second crack initiated in the contact area and developed in to a Y-shape, resulting in the final failure of the structure. This study lays a foundation for the structural design and safety assessment of hightemperature gas-cooled reactors
An efficient method to structural static reanalysis with deleting support constraints
Haifeng Liu,Shigang Yue 국제구조공학회 2014 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.52 No.6
Structural design is usually an optimization process. Numerous parameters such as the member shapes and sizes, the elasticity modulus of material, the locations of nodes and the support constraints can be selected as design variables. These variables are progressively revised in order to obtain a satisfactory structure. Each modification requires a fresh analysis for the displacements and stresses, and reanalysis can be employed to reduce the computational cost. This paper is focused on static reanalysis problem withmodification of deleting some supports. An efficient reanalysis method is proposed. The method makes full use of the initial information and preserves the ease of implementation. Numerical examples show that thecalculated results of the proposed method are the identical as those of the direct analysis, while thecomputational time is remarkably reduced.

The effects of sulfur on the microstructures and solidification characteristics of a second-generation single crystal superalloywere clarified through optical microscope (OM), scanning electron microscope (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and electron probe microanalysis (EPMA). When sulfur was added to the alloy, the area fraction of theeutectic and microporosity decreased with the area fraction of MC carbides increasing. The γ / γ’ eutectic morphologychanged from mosaic + fan + coarse γ’ to mosaic + fan as the sulfur content increased, and very few γ / γ’ eutectic wasfound in the alloy with the highest sulfur content. Moreover, sulfur tended to segregate at the interdendritic regions andform Hf / Cr- rich sulfides, which were adjacent to the carbides or eutectic. This work not only uncovers some sulfideswrapped by eutectic or carbides, but also presents the solidification sequence of the interdendritic regions in high sulfurcontent alloy was discussed.

SdhBP225Fand SdhBH272R mutations have been found associated with boscalid resistance in Botrytis cinerea from strawberry in Shanghai, China. For rapid detection of two mutations, tetra-primers were designed and optimized to gain the relatively high accuracy and specificity based on the ARMS-PCR technique, by which resistance can be identified with different lengths of products on agarose gels. The tetra-primer ARMS-PCR systems for SdhBP225F and SdhBH272R were validated by 9 SdhB-squenced strains repeatedly. Then, sensitivity of 30 more strains were also tested by the methods, which were accordant with genotypes by sequencing and the sensitivity of conidial germination to boscalid by 100%. Thus, the methods developed in this study are proved to be rapid, inexpensive, accurate and practical for resistance detection of Botrytis cinerea caused by SdhBP225F and SdhBH272R mutations.

Microstructural Evolution of a High W Content Ni-Based Superalloy at γ′ Sub-Solvus Temperatures

The evolution of γ′ phase and γ/γ′ eutectic during short-time heat treatment of the Ni-based superalloy with high W content,K416B are investigated. In this study, high temperature Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is employed to designthe heat treatment experiments and the precipitate temperature of secondary γ′ is found in the cooling curve. The standardcoarsening model is applied to figure out the coarsening rate constant of γ′ precipitate. On this basis, a novel method isproposed to predict the globularization time of γ phase in γ/γ′ eutectic during the heat treatment process. As holding temperatureincreases, more γ lamellae convert to platelets before reaching thermodynamic equilibrium. Electron microscopyobservations exhibit the boundary splitting and necking formation on the γ plate surface. Moreover, the dissolution kineticsof γ phase is quantitatively assessed by JMAK model. The volume fraction descends rapidly in the initial stage, and thenreach to a threshold. Above proposed approaches are validated via various heat treatment experiments.
Field-flow fractionation: A gentle separation and characterization technique in biomedicine
Zhang, Xiaoyue,Li, Yueqiu,Shen, Shigang,Lee, Seungho,Dou, Haiyang Elsevier 2018 Trends in analytical chemistry Vol.108 No.-

Abstract

Field-flow fractionation (FFF), a gentle tool for separation and characterization of macromolecules and particles, has attracted increasing interest in recent years due to its broad dynamic size range and the utilization of an “open channel” void of packing materials or stationary phase. In this review, the theoretical principle of FFF separation (such as retention ratio and external force) is described. The FFF sub-techniques based on the type of the external force employed are presented. Sample physical properties directly measured by FFF sub-techniques are summarized. This paper will critically review the applications of FFF in the field of biomedicine, especially those reported in the last five years.

In most of the existing literature, the definition of the class label has the following characteristics. First, the class label of the samples from the same object has an absolutely fixed value. Second, the difference between class labels of the samples from different objects should be maximized. However, the appearance of a face varies greatly due to the variations of the illumination, pose, and expression. Therefore, the previous definition of class label is not quite reasonable. Inspired by discriminative least squares regression algorithm (DLSR), a noisy label based discriminative least squares regression algorithm (NLDLSR) is presented in this paper. In our algorithm, the maximization difference between the class labels of the samples from different objects should be satisfied. Meanwhile, the class label of the different samples from the same object is allowed to have small difference, which is consistent with the fact that the different samples from the same object have some differences. In addition, the proposed NLDLSR is expanded to the kernel space, and we further propose a novel kernel noisy label based discriminative least squares regression algorithm (KNLDLSR). A large number of experiments show that our proposed algorithms can achieve very good performance.
