In this study, the canola oil and alcohol were used as attractants in pitfall traps to help collect grounddwellingarthropods. Two small agricultural long-term ecological research fields at Chiayi AgriculturalExperimental Station were chosen to execute sampling activities. There were 14,509 individuals of 182species (including morphospecies) in 18 taxa in the collections. The most abundant taxon was Hymenoptera, followed by Coleoptera, Collembola, Diptera, Orthoptera, and Acari. Regardless to the differenceof the sampling fields, canola oil trap was significantly attractive to ants (Formicidae, Hymenoptera). Onthe other hand, the alcohol trap was more effective in attracting the Coleoptera. According to the diversityanalysis, the results indicated that the diversity indexes were affected by the main effect forattractant. In addition, the interactions between the farming operation and samplings and between theattractant and samplings were also factors to influence the diversity of ground-dwelling arthropods inthe long-term ecological research site of Chiayi Station.
Compact Dual-Mode Balun Bandpass Filter with Improved Out-of-Band Performance
Gao Shan Shan,Yi Gang Yu,Sun Sheng 대한전기학회 2021 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.16 No.4
A compact dual-mode balun bandpass fi lter with improved out-of-band performance is proposed based on a ring resonator. In order to excite the two degenerate modes and obtain fi ltering balun performance, three parallel-coupled lines are placed at three excitation ports along the ring resonator. By properly arranging the angles between the excitation arms, four transmission zeros can be realized to improve stopband performance. Finally, a prototype of the designed balun bandpass fi lter is implemented and fabricated. The measured results show a good agreement with those obtained from the simulation, thus verifying our proposal with good in-band fi ltering and out-of-band performance.
Reliability analysis for lateral stabilityof tongwamen bridge
Pan Sheng-Shan,Shi Lei,Tan Yong-Gang,Zhang Zhe 국제구조공학회 2011 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.11 No.5
Tongwamen Bridge is a critical link between Dongmen Island and the land in Shipu town, Zhejiang province, China. It is a 238 m span, half-through, concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) X-type arch bridge. The width of the deck is only 10 m, yielding a width-to-span ratio of 1/23.8. The plane truss type section rib was adopted, which made of two CFST chords and web member system. The lateral stability is the key issue to this bridge. However, the existing researches on Tongwamen Bridge’s lateral stability are all the deterministic structural analysis. In this paper, a new strategy for positioning sampling points of the response surface method (RSM), based on the composite method combining RSM with geometric method for structural reliability analysis, is employed to obtain the reliability index of lateral stability. In addition the correlated parameters were discussed in detail to find the major factors. According to the analysis results, increasing the stiff of lateral braces between the arch ribs and setting the proper inward-incline degree of the arch rib can enhance obviously the reliability of lateral stability. Moreover, the deck action of non-orienting force is less than the two factors above. The calculated results indicate that the arch ribs are safe enough to keep excellent stability, and it provides the foundation that the plane truss rib would be a competitive solution for a long-span, narrow, CFST arch bridge.
Determination of Thermal Equilibrium in a Sealed Cell Based on Optical Depth
Sheng Zou,Hong Zhang,Xi-Yuan Chen,Guang-cun Shan,Wei Quan 한국물리학회 2017 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.70 No.2
An effective method based on optical depth (OD) is presented to measure thermal equilibrium in a cell. First, the principle of determining the temperature distribution in the cell by using the OD is demonstrated. Subsequently, relevant experiments are carried out. Original experimental results showed that some gradients of OD distributions in the cell at different wavelengths and variations of the OD increased slowly along the direction of motion of the beam at a fixed wavelength. At a wavelength of 766.6839 nm, which is about 7 GHz blue shifted with respect to the potassium resonance, the average value of the OD was about 0.764 and the maximal and the minimum inhomogeneity biases among all location points were about 6.07% and 0.56%, respectively. As for the corresponding wavelengths of 766.67785 nm and 766.73004 nm, some deviations from previous results, which were caused by different absorptions of the alkali-metal atoms at different frequencies of the laser beam, were observed. The nonuniform OD values along the direction of motion of the beam reflected an inhomogeneous distribution of the temperature in the cell, which may have been caused by layout of the oven. When the layout of the oven was modified, comparative experiments comparable to these with the previous layout of the oven demonstrated that the uniformity of the temperature distribution in the cell was improved and that thermal equilibrium time was shorter by about 10 minutes. This method played an important role in determining the thermal equilibrium time in the cell.
A 3-Gb/s Equalizer with an Adaptive Swing Controller for TFT-LCD Interfaces
Miao-Shan Li,Yen-Chen Lin,Chai-Chi Liu,Ching-Rong Chang,Jyun-Yi Li,You-Sheng Lin,Ching-Yuan Yang 대한전자공학회 2019 Journal of semiconductor technology and science Vol.19 No.1
A 0.18-μm CMOS 3-Gb/s equalizer with an adaptive swing controller is presented for 4K2K large display panels to compensate a 24-dB channel loss. Employing the output-swing control technique, we propose the adaptive loop for the equalizer to improve adaptation accuracy without degrading the boost tuning and input swing ranges. Besides, cascading two bandpass filters (BPF) measured energy in a narrow range is much more accuracy than conventional highpass filters (HPF). The measured jitter of 3-Gb/s and 1.5-Gb/s data are 0.23-UI and 0.356-UI for 1.23-m FR4 board, respectively. The core area occupies 0.12-㎟ and the power consumption is 27-mW at 3 Gb/s from a 1.8-V supply.
Aberrant Expression of miR-20a and miR-203 in Cervical Cancer
Zhao, Shan,Yao, De-Sheng,Chen, Jun-Ying,Ding, Nan Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.4
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small, non-coding RNAs that are critical regulators of various diseases. MicroRNA-20a (miR-20a) and microRNA-203 (miR-203) have previously shown significant alteration in a range of cancers. In this study, the expression levels of miR-20a and miR-203 in 100 cervical cancer tissues were detected by qRT-PCR and compared to patient matched-nontumor cervical tissues. Correlations between expression level and clinicopathologic characteristics of cervical cancer were also analyzed. Finally, we studied the effect of miR-20a and miR-203 on cell proliferation in cervical cancer cell lines by MTT. We found that the expression level of miR-20a (P<0.001) was significantly higher in cervical cancer patients than in healthy controls, while that of miR-203 (P<0.001) was lower. Aberrant expression of miR-20a was correlated with lymph node metastasis (LNM), histological grade and tumor diameter, but down-regulated miR-203 was correlated with LNM only. Furthermore, we found that over-expression of miR-203 decreased cell proliferation, while reduction of miR-20a also prevented tumor progression. Our results support the involvement of miR-20a and miR-203 in cervical tumorigenesis. We propose that miRNAs might be used as therapeutic agents for cervical cancer.

Epidemiologic findings concerning the association between the hsa-mir-499 rs3746444 A>G polymorphism and cancer risk have yielded mixed results. We aimed to investigate the association by performing a meta-analysis of all available studies. We searched PubMed and EMBASE for studies published up to November 2014, using odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) to assess the strength of any association. The Benjamini-Hochberg (BH) method was used to correct the p values for multiple comparisons. We included 39 studies, including 14,136 cases and 16,937 controls. The results of overall meta-analysis suggested a borderline association between hsa-mir-499 rs3746444 polymorphism and cancer susceptibility (AG+GG vs. AA: OR=1.15, 95% CI=1.04-1.26, corrected p value=0.04). After removing studies not conforming to Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (HWE), however, this association disappeared (AG+GG vs AA: OR=1.18, 95% CI=1.03-1.34, corrected p value=0.21). When stratified analysis by ethnicity, cancer type or HWE in controls, although some associations between hsa-mir-499 rs3746444 polymorphism and cancer susceptibility were detected, these associations no longer existed after adjustment using BH method. In conclusion, our meta-analysis suggests that hsa-mir-499 rs3746444 A>G polymorphism is not associated with risk of cancer based on current evidence.
