A Bifurcation Study of Droop-Controlled Inverter-Based Microgrids with Dynamic Loads
Sheng-Jie Huang,Der-Cherng Liaw 제어로봇시스템학회 2021 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2021 No.10
The paper studies the dynamical behavior of droop-controlled inverter-based microgrids with dynamic loads. A result for determining the corresponding local stability property of the system at each equilibrium point is derived. Sufficient conditions for the parameters to ensure system stability of the microgrids are also obtained. Saddle-node bifurcation was found to occur while the reactive power demand increases to the stability limit of the system. Existence conditions for such an unstable phenomenon are calculated by employing the bifurcation theory on the proposed system model. Numerical simulations for an example of six-order testing system have demonstrated the validity of the proposed results.

The authors investigated variations of aerosol scattering and absorptive properties in a semi-arid climate Observatory in the Inner Mongolia of China and factors affecting the variation. They use integrated nephelometer and aethalometer observations collected in 2005 and 2006 at the Silinhot Observatory. The results are as follows. 1) in autumn and winter, the diurnal cycle of scattering coefficient exhibited a clear bi-modal variation, and the scattering coefficient was indicative of the type of sandy weather. 2) The concentration of black carbon (BC) aerosols was much higher in winter than in the other seasons with an evident bimodal diurnal variation. 3) When the wind speed was lower than 3.5 m s-1, the dilution effect of air evidently influenced the scattering coefficient and BC mass concentration; for the wind speed above 3.5 m s-1, there appeared to be little correlation between wind speed and scattering coefficient or BC mass concentration. 4) Atmospheric visibility calculated from the aerosol scattering and absorptive coefficients was in good agreement with the direct observation of visibility. 5) Absorption by aerosols accounted for 25% of the total extinction in December.

The feeding preference of pear psylla (Cacopsylla chinensis) varies among pear cultivars. To clarify whether leaf structural factors are related to C. chinensis resistance, eleven pear cultivars of three pear species and their hybrids in China were studied. The population size of C. chinensis in plots of different cultivars was investigated, and leaf paraffin sections of each pear cultivar were observed. Correlation analysis results showed that the thickness of palisade tissue (PT) and the thickness ratio (TR) of PT to leaf (L) were the main factors influencing resistance to C. chinensis. The leaves of cultivar Wujiuxiang and those species from France and the USA exhibited the thickest PT and the highest TR; these three cultivars demonstrated much higher resistance to C. chinensis than did the other cultivars. The cultivar Gold Nijisseiki, with a large C. chinensis population size, showed low PT and TR. The findings of this study may provide valuable information to pear growers, experts and scientists regarding plant protection, cultivation and breeding when selecting suitable varieties to culture from the perspective of pest control.
The impact of CSR in apparel on corporate image, consumer perception and purchase intention
Sheng-Jie Shui,Hui Zhang ASCONS 2022 IJASC Vol.4 No.3
Background/Objectives: This study was conducted to examine the importance of corporate social responsibility in apparel companies and to investigate the impact of corporate social responsibility in apparel on corporate image, consumer goodwill and purchase intentions. The study will provide theoretical guidance for the future development of apparel companies, while emphasising the important role of CSR. Methods/Statistical analysis: This study used the questionnaire method and the data was analysed using SPSS26 to confirm the hypotheses of this study. Findings: The findings show that social responsibility of apparel companies has a positive impact on corporate image, consumer goodwill; corporate image has a positive impact on consumer goodwill; and both corporate image and consumer goodwill have a positive impact on purchase intention. Improvements/Applications: This study confirms the importance of corporate social responsibility in the apparel industry, but given the limited number of respondents in this study, and the limited number of regions, future research could be more informative if additional demographic variables such as regions and occupations were taken into account. Also, more tests can be conducted on different variables in future studies to obtain more comprehensive and better results.
Down-regulated MYH11 Expression Correlates with Poor Prognosis in Stage II and III Colorectal Cancer
Wang, Ren-Jie,Wu, Peng,Cai, Guo-Xiang,Wang, Zhi-Min,Xu, Ye,Peng, Jun-Jie,Sheng, Wei-Qi,Lu, Hong-Fen,Cai, San-Jun Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.17
The MYH11 gene may be related to cell migration and adhesion, intracellular transport, and signal transduction. However, its relationship with prognosis is still uncertain. The aim of this study was to investigate correlations between MYH11 gene expression and prognosis in 58 patients with stage II and III colorectal cancer. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction was performed in fresh CRC tissues to examine mRNA expression, and immunohistochemistry was performed with paraffin-embedded specimens for protein expression. On univariate analysis, MYH11 expression at both mRNA and protein levels, perineural invasion and lymphovascular invasion were related to disease-free survival (p<0.05; log-rank test). Cancers with lower MYH11 expression were more likely to have a poor prognosis. Otherwise, MYH11 expression was unrelated to patient clinicopathological features. On multivariate analysis, low MYH11 expression proved to be an independent adverse prognosticator (p<0.05). These findings show that MYH11 can contribute to predicting prognosis in stage II and III colorectal cancers.

The number of axillary lymph nodes involved and retrieved are important prognostic factors in breast cancer. The purpose of our study was to investigate whether the lymph node ratio (LNR) is a better prognostic factor in predicting disease-free survival (DFS) for breast cancer patients as compared with pN staging. The analysis was based on 804 breast cancer patients who had underwent axillary lymph node dissection between 1999 and 2008 in Sun Yat-Sen University Cancer Center. Optimal cutoff points of LNR were calculated using X-tile software and validated by bootstrapping. Patients were then divided into three groups (low-, intermediate-, and high-risk) according to the cutoff points. Predicting risk factors for relapse were performed according to Cox proportional hazards analysis. DFS was estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by the log-rank test. The 5-year DFS rate decreased significantly with increasing LNRs and pN. Univariate analysis found that the pT, pN, LNR, molecule type, HER2, pTNM stage and radiotherapy well classified patients with significantly different prognosis. By multivariate analysis, only LNR classification was retained as an independent prognostic factor. Furthermore, there was a significant prognostic difference among different LNR categories for pN2 category, but no apparent prognostic difference was seen between different pN categories in any LNR category. Therefore, LNR rather than pN staging is preferable in predicting DFS in node positive breast cancer patients, and routine clinical decision-making should take the LNR into consideration.

There is growing evidence that the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is associated with increased risks of psychiatric sequelae. Depression, anxiety, cognitive impairments, sleep disturbance, and fatigue during and after the acute phase of COVID-19 are prevalent, long-lasting, and exerting negative consequences on well-being and imposing a huge burden on healthcare systems and society. This current review presented timely updates of clinical research findings, particularly focusing on the pathogenetic mechanisms underlying the neuropsychiatric sequelae, and identified potential key targets for developing effective treatment strategies for long COVID. In addition, we introduced the Formosa Long COVID Multicenter Study (FOCuS), which aims to apply the inflammation theory to the pathogenesis and the psychosocial and nutrition treatments of post-COVID depression and anxiety.

This paper examines how geographical distance influences managers’ behavior around environmental disclosure from the perspective of public pressure transmission efficiency and how the internal and external factors curb the effect of geographical distance. We study Chinese manufacturing firms over a 6-year period (2009–2014) following the release of The Measures for Disclosure of Environmental Information (Trial). Research results show that (i) geographical distance can significantly weaken the transmission efficiency of public pressure and (ii) internal and external supervision factors can curb the negative effect of geographical distance on the transmission efficiency of public pressure.
