Double Beam Model for Reinforced Tensionless Foundations under Moving Loads
Shashank Bhatra,Priti Maheshwari 대한토목학회 2019 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.23 No.4
An attempt is made herein to analyse the rails resting on earth beds with geocell inclusion under a moving load. Reinforced soil system is assumed to react to compressive forces only, i.e., the tensionless foundation. It comprises of a granular fill layer (modelled as Pasternak shear layer) followed by a geocell inclusion (represented by an infinite beam with finite bending stiffness) overlying the foundation soil (modelled as a series of spring and dashpot connected in parallel). The governing differential equations are developed and converted for general use in non-dimensional form. These equations are solved using suitable boundary conditions and employing Finite Difference Scheme along with iterative Gauss-Seidel technique. Critical velocity of tensionless system is determined and compared with perfect contact case. The parametric study conducted shows the influence of applied load, relative compressibility of soils, relative flexural rigidity, depth of placement of geocell, damping in the system and velocity of load on the response of rail and geocell reinforcement. Also, a sensitivity study is carried out which suggests that uplift of the rail is quite sensitive to more number of parameters than to its downward deflection.

With the explosive growth of the data stored in various forms, need for innovative and effective technologies to find and use information and knowledge from a large variety of data sources which is continually increasing. Web information contains a lot of noise. Web Mining is the application of data mining techniques to discover classification of web data. It focuses on techniques that could predict the data’s class while the user interacts with the web. The aim of this paper is to measure, propose and improve the use of advance web page classification techniques which is highly used in the advent of mining large web pages based data sets which allows data analysts to conduct more efficient execution of large scale web pages data searches. Thus in this paper researchers introduce an improved concept which may reduce the search space using classification techniques with optimization technique.

With the very fast development in today`s digital world, Information Retrieval on Internet is gaining importance, day by day. The web comprises of huge amount of data and search engine provides an efficient way to navigate the web and get the relevant information. The search engine has proven to be less efficient in providing relevant information from a query processed by a user. Fors olving this problem and getting accurate results there is need to categorize these web pages. Many optimizations have also done to speedup the classification process as it is required to be fast while maintaining the efficiency. To maintain the accuracy with the lesser time requirement, researchers have developed a SVM based Layered approach with the help of firefly feature selection method.

The increasing demand for faster and energy efficient electronics has forced the researchers to develop more power and performance efficient integrated circuits. For this purpose, the overall size of the transistor needs to be scaled down to its very limit. Transistor scaling and performance are not only limited to overall transistor design but also to the material of the channel that is being used. In order to make a performance efficient transistor, not only is a new transistor design needed but replacement of conventional channel material i.e., silicon needs to be done. In this work, a 2-D Numerical simulation model of nanowire FET with GAA technology was carried out at 22 nm gate length using an open-source nanoscale simulation tool MUGFET. Then a study of the performance parameters of this NW-GAAFET with Silicon and Group III-V compound semiconductor channel materials and High-k gate oxides has been performed. The electrical performance parameters, drain induced barrier lowering (DIBL), subthreshold swing (SS), and on/off current ratio (Ion/Ioff) are extracted and validated through comparative analysis with previous high performance GAA nanowire FETs.

Potential Evapotranspiration (PET) is one of the significant hydrological parameters, but complicated to estimate due to various meteorological parameters involved. Accurate estimation of PET at spatial scale is a major requirement for arid and semiarid agriculture regions such as Ghatapraha river basin for study of water balance. Temperature based models have emerged as promising tools in extracting the spatial distribution of the PET, using remote sensed images. The main objective of the study is, to develop a site-specific temperature-based model for estimation of PET in semiarid regions, applicable to Ghataprabha basin. Performance of five different temperature-based PET models were evaluated by comparing with the standard Penman-Monteith equation for the year 2013 and 2014. The Hargreaves-Samani equation performed better with statistical parameters RMSE, MBE, MPE and R2 of 0.65, 0.43, 10.64 and 0.81 respectively. The model was further calibrated and site-specific modified Hargreaves-Samani equation was developed. The results revealed that spatial PET estimated by modified method based on satellite-derived spatial air temperature data performed better in spatial scale. The proposed approach is new and is advantageous as the spatial distribution of PET can be obtained, with limited data of temperature, where unavailability of the spatial climate data is a major concern.
