A Fuzzy based Routing Protocol for Delay Tolerant Network
Neelam Malik,Shailender Gupta,Bharat Bhushan 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.8 No.1
Delay Tolerant Network (DTN) is a wireless ad hoc network that intends to provide communication between pair of nodes in spite of having intermittent connectivity and long delays. The nodes are buffer and energy constrained. To provide communication in such scenario, a sturdy routing mechanism is needed. In this paper we propose a new routing technique based on fuzzy logic for intermittently connected network. Also an effort has been made to evaluate the performance of the proposed routing strategy in realistic environment (having obstacles) in MATLAB. The simulation results show that the performance of the network is improved using fuzzy logic based routing strategy and the results of realistic environment are quite different from idealistic environment.
Performance Evaluation of Shortest Path Routing Strategy using Cognitive Radios
Kartikay Garg,Mehak Jain,Shailender Gupta,Atefeh Hedayati 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Future Generation Communi Vol.8 No.1
To have an efficient and successful communication in ad hoc networks, the use of Cognitive Radios (CR) has gained popularity in the recent past. These radios have spectrum sensing capabilities and thus can easily switch to free spectrum band. The use of such type of radios not only improves the routing performance but at the same time improves the overall throughput of the network. To show the same, we implement shortest path routing strategy in MATLAB-7.01. The routing scheme uses two types of radios one with spectrum sensing capability such as cognitive radios and the other which doesn’t. The following performance metrics such as Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), Delay, Success Ratio and Hop count are taken into consideration for measuring the efficiency. The result shows that a node having spectrum sensing capability outperforms the other one.

Spectrum is the most valuable and scarce resource for every wireless application. Due to the scarcity of the spectrum other alternatives are also being searched. Cognitive Radio (CR) technology is one such alternative which has gained popularity in the recent times. It has been established from various researches that the allocated band is not in use for all the time by the licensed user or as Primary Users (PUs). The Cognitive Radio users also called as Secondary Users (SUs) communicate using unlicensed band or by using the idle licensed band of primary users opportunistically. This paper evaluates the performance of routing protocols by varying concentration level of PU and SU. We have also investigated the impact of time given by PU’s to SU’s for data transfer. For performing the above task, a simulator is designed in MATLAB-7.01. The results show that the performance of routing protocols improves significantly as the number of PUs and allowable time given by PU’s to SU’s increases.
A Hybrid Defogging Technique based on Anisotropic Diffusion and IDCP using Guided Filter
Pranjal Garg,Shailender Gupta,Bharat Bhushan,Prem Chand Vashist 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.8 No.7
In poor weather condition, fog removal from an image is an unavoidable problem. Various methods have been proposed in literature for de-hazing of image based on Dark Channel Prior (DCP) such as Improved Dark Channel Prior (IDCP), Anisotropic Diffusion and IDCP method using Guided Filter. This paper provides a hybrid strategy based on IDCP using Guided Filter and Anisotropic Diffusion method. The former strategy is used for estimating and refining transmission map while the later is used to estimate and refine airlight. In addition, this paper compares the above mentioned techniques using several performance metrics such as Normalized Color difference (NCD), Color Naturalness Index (CNI) and number of saturated pixel. The results shows that the visual quality of our hybrid approach is much better as well as the performance metrics mentioned above optimizes to a great extent.
Comparison of Noise Removal Techniques Using Bilateral Filter
Manjeet Kaur,Shailender Gupta 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.9 No.2
This paper compares the standard Bilateral Filter and its variants such as Modified Bilateral Filter(MBF), Joint Bilateral Filter(JBF), Fuzzy Bilateral Filter(FBF) and Switching Bilateral Filter(SBF). For comparison purpose various performance matrices such as: Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR), Mean Square Error(MSE), Mean Absolute Error(MAE), Normalized Color Difference(NCD), Perceptual Quality and Time complexity are used . All the techniques are implemented using simulation in MATLAB-9. It is found that the standard BF is the best technique to remove Gaussian noise from images with high PSNR value. However when the image is corrupted with mixed Gaussian and impulse noise, SBF gives the best results of PSNR value, MSE value, MAE value , NCD value and a good picture quality of de-noised image.
