Topological Properties of Networks in Structural Classification of Proteins

We investigate the complex networks of interacting amino acids in protein structures. This casepresents the status of numerical simulations and analyses relevant to the topological properties ofnetworks in the structural classification of proteins. From our result protein networks are shownto have a small-world feature regardless of their structural class. In particular, proteins are foundto have a positive assortative coefficient that when applied to the topological property is describedas a tendency for connectivity of high-degree nodes. The modularity of the proteins in our caseis a significantly increasing function of N. From the resultant network, we mainly estimate thenetwork’s metrics, such as the averaged shortest path length, the averaged clustering coefficient,the local efficiency, the global efficiency, the assortative coefficient, and the modularity.
An IEEE 802.15.4g sun compliant MR-OFDM RF CMOS transceiver for smart grid and CES

<P>This paper proposes an IEEE 802.15.4g SUN OFDM-based 920 MHz RF CMOS transceiver. It can be adopted in energy saving intelligent green homes, which are related to Smart Grid, as well as universal remote controller, building automation, which is related to CEs (Consumer Electronics), and other areas. With the proposed SUN OFDM-based RF transceiver, wireless connectivity among CE devices or among electric metering systems can considerably save electronic energy and make our lives more comfortable. The proposed RF transceiver consists of a RF front-end with an on-chip RF switch, a Tx BBA (Baseband Analog), a Rx BBA, and a PLL. The proposed RF transceiver is implemented in 0.18-μm CMOS technology and consumes 37 mA in Tx mode and 38 mA in Rx mode from a 1.8 V supply voltage. With the fabricated RF transceiver chip, two successful public demonstrations have been carried out, which show the possibility of its use in commercial products.</P>
Macroscopic Analyses of Communicability Structures in Complex Networks

We study the dynamical property of macroscopic community structures in two scientific societies. The type of data is extracted from author networks in both the Korean Meteorological Society and the Korean Physical Society. We discuss some notable methods for giving evolutionary information as the community structure is investigated using the model of oscillator networks. We simulate and analyze macroscopic community metrics such as the entropy, the natural connectivity, the free energy, the total energy, and the bipartivity in the community structures of the two scientific societies. We particularly compare and analyze the statistical values between the two scientific societies.
