Combination Effects of Essential Oils from Thymus species with Norfloxacin against Streptococcus pneumoniae

The combination effects of essential oils from Thymus quinquecostatus and T. magnus with norfloxacin were evaluated against three strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae. The checkerboard titer test results demonstrated significant combined effects of norfloxacin and the two Thymus oils or thymol, the main component of this oil, against the susceptible and resistant strains of S. pneumoniae, with FICIs ranging from 0.14 to 1.00. Additionally, the anti-Streptococcus effects of the oils were dose-dependent on Tryptic soy agar plates containing 5% defibrinated sheep blood.

Radio frequency coil which is capable of transmit and receive the signal has been used for image production in magnetic resonance imaging(MRI). Tuning and matching characteristic of radio frequency coil is major factor determining the image quality. In experiment the used coil was called a staircase type coil which is simplified the birdcage coil and referred to a simple LC resonant circuit. Because the inductance values of the coils are fixed coil performance was examined by changing of the capacitance values. In this study capacitance values were experimentally determined to increase of-tuning and matching effect in junction of the coil between coil endring and BNC cable to obtain the high quality of image.

2017년 7월 4일부터 6일까지 경상남도 거제시 거제도 일대를 김주필, 김대희, 지승환, 지성현, 최라미, 이영경 등 한국거미연구소 회원들이 주야로 채집한 결과, 총 23과 56속 75종이 조사 연구되어 이에 발표하는 바이다. 채집한 표본은 주필거미박물관에 보관하였다. From July 4 to 6 in 2017. Joo-Pil Kim, Dae-Hee Kim, Seung-Hwan Ji, Sung-Hyun Ji, Ra-Mi Choi, Yeong-Gyeong Lee, the members of The Arachnological Institute of Korea investigated the spiders in the whole area of Geoje city, Geoje-do, Gyeongsangnam-do and report 23 Family 56 Genus 75 Species of spiders. The collected spiders are placed (stored) in the Joo-Pil Spider museum.

This study can get the result below with the embodiment of INTERNET- PACS system. 1. This study is to embody the INTERNET-PACS that can use the main functions of high-priced PACS that can be used in the general small hospitals by the embodiment on the general PC. And it made the burden about the additional expenses decreasing at maximum by the development of DICOM converter algorithm and by the interlock with the existing devices. 2. Also it could expand the PACS in stage as well as it made the information transmission in the hospitals through the network easy at the same time with the share of the client and the server on a system. 3. The embodied INTERNET-PACS system have advantages that have independent image management and operation system and that can make the system more flexible in its embodiment because the standard protocol is used in the internet recently.

酒精 슬러지의 脫水 및 燒却特性

This study has been carried out to confirm the incineration and dewatering ability of the alcohol stillage sludge when pulverized coal is added. This study aims was increasing of alcohol stillage sludge dewatering and combustion ability using heat content analysis as vary coal dosage and particle size. The conclusions from experiment are as followings : 1. This study has been carried out to determine the coal dosage. The optimum bewatering efficiency was reached when 150% Pulverized coal was added to sludge soild content. 2. The optimum dewatering efficiency was reached when the coal particle size was 0.149㎜ and 0.250㎜. 3. The heating value according to alcohol stillage sludge and pulverized coal mixture ratio was obtained high heating value, pulverized coal ration the higher.

Cyclosulfamuron이 벼의 생육과 Acetolactate Synthase 활성에 미치는 영향

토양혼화실험을 동한 초장의 신장 억제틀 조사한 결과 초장이 50% 억제되었을 때의 cyclosulfamuron의 농도를 품종별로 비교하여 보면 동진벼, 화성벼, 일품벼의 경우 각각 6.3, 9.2, 146.8 mg/kg으로 동진벼가 제초제 cyclosulfamuron에 가장 민감하게 지상부의 생육이 억제되었다. 또한 cyclosulfamuron은 동일한 농도에서 지상부보다는 지하부의 생육을 더 크게 억제하였으며, 0.3 mg/kg 처리 수준에서 동진벼의 경우 건물 중의 억제정도는 지상부가 4.8% 정도이었으나 지하부는 38.9%이었다. 벼의 acetolactate synthase 활성을 cyclosulfamuron의 농도별로 검정한 결과 공시된 품종간에 큰 차이가 없었으며 50% 억제되는 농도는 화성벼, 동진벼 및 일품벼의 경우 각각 42.7, 32.7 및 56.7 μM이었다. Cyclosulfamuron, a herbicide of sulfonylurea type, is a relatively new compound which control broad leaves and perennial weeds in rice field. However, this herbicide has a minor disadvantage of decreasing rice plant growth, especially in early growth stage. Therefore, for introducing this cyclosulfamuron as a herbicide in rice field, it is important to minimize the suppression of early plant growth with maintaining weed control efficacy. This study was conducted to evaluate effects of cyclosulfamuron on early plant growth and acetolactate synthase activity of rice (Oryza sativa cv Dongjinbyeo, Hwasungbyeo, Ilpumbyeo). Rice growth was inhibited by cyclosulfamuron in their early growth stage. The concentrations required for 50% inhibition of Dongjinbyeo, Hwasungbyeo and Ilpwmbyeo growth were 6.3, 9.2 and 146.8 mg/kg, respectively. Inhibition effect of cyclosulfamuron on the root elongation was greater than the effect on the shoot growth. Concentrations required for 50% inhibition of acetolactate synthase activity from Dongjinbyeo, Hwasungbyeo, Ilpumbyeo were 42.7, 32.7 and 56.7 μM, respectively.

As rapid aging, The long-term Care Insurance will be operated in July throughout the preparation which is included in requisition and judgement in the first half year of 2008. The Long-term Care Insurance can be a new system that provides with Social Insurance and the market principle in social-welfare services. At this moment, It is required to review contents and find out the problems for improving the old's welfare. First of all, the range of care recipients should be extended more than 80% and the rate of care recipients allotment should be less than 10%. Second, for preventing a blind side of social-welfare service, the present service should be extended. And the recipients who are in a grade from 1 to 3 should be provided in The Long term care Insurance. Third, the multiple-small sized institutions which are close to Community are required and the join of grand institutions should be controlled. Lastly, the long term Care institutions must invest in job analysis & standard, seizing the degree of care service difficulty, care management, developing S/W tool, professional education for care workers.

[논문]선박의 충돌회피시스템에 관한 연구

많은 선박사고 유형증 하나인 선박의 충돌은 운항자의 조선실수가 그 원인의 큰 비중을 차지한다. 이는 점차 대형화,고속화되는 선박의 충돌회피를 단지 인간의 시각, 지각능력에만 의존하면서 나타나는 현상이라 할 수 있으며 이에 대비 하기위해 나날이 발전하는 첨단기술을 바탕으로 충돌회피에 관한 자동회피제어시스템의 개발의 필요성이 점차 대두되고 있다. 그러한 취지에서 본 연구도 충돌회피를 위한 자동제어에 관하여 연구되었다. 본 연구는 MMG 수학모텔에 기반을 두어,surge-sway-yaw-roll 운동방정식을 사용하였고, 충돌위험도 설정을 위하여 퍼지이론을 사용하였다.

정신과 외래에서 향정신성약물을 복용 중인 환자에서의 하지불편증후군

Objectives : The purpose ofthis study was to investigate the clinical characteristics and incidence of restless legs syndrome (RLS) in outpatients with psychiatric iltness. Methods : 146 adult patients (male 52, female 94) wcre selected from those who visited a psychiatric outpatient clinic. RLS was evaluated through an interview method using diagnostic criteria and a severity rating scale for RLS developed by the Intemational RLS Study Group (IRLSSG). The authors also applied Beck's Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck's Anxiety Inventory (BAI), the Pittsburgh SleeP Quality Index, Bames Akathisia Rating Scale and neurological examination. Rcsults : Thirty-four (23.3%) among 146 subjects were diagnosed as having RLS. Fifteen (44.1%) among those 34 RLS patients reported to have developed their RLS after starting their psychotropic agents and only 4 patients (11.7%) had Cu-rrently been receiving treatment for their RLS. The RLS group showed higher BDI and BAI scores (p<0.01) and lower sleep quality (p<0.01) compared to those of non-RLS. The RLS group also showed a significantly higher co-morbidity of Pa-rasomnias (χ²=8.5, P<0.01) and peripheral neuropathy (χ²=5.2, P<0.05). Conclusion : The results from this study suggest that a substantial proportion of outpatients with psychiatric illness are suffering RLS. Our data suggest that clinicians should pay attention to the possible presence of RLS among their patients who are taking psychotropic agents.
