Prognostic factors for classifying extranodal NK/T cell lymphoma, nasal type, as lymphoid neoplasia

<P>Abstract</P><P>This study evaluated the applicability of prognostic factors commonly used for diagnosis of classical lymphoma outcomes to extranodal NK/T cell lymphoma, nasal type (NTCL). Clinical features and their associations with lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were evaluated in 70 patients. RLDH was defined as the ratio of LDH to the upper normal limit. RLDH was associated with stage (I–II vs. III–IV), lymph node involvement (LNI), and International Prognostic Index score (<2 vs. ≥2). Poor performance status and advanced stage were common in patients with local tumor invasiveness (LTI). LDH level, classified into three levels (low, high, and very high) was associated with survival (<I>P</I> < 0.001). In multivariate analysis, the predictive values of LDH level, B symptom, performance status, and stage remained significant whereas those of LTI and LNI did not. Scoring was performed by weighting each factor with 0.5 or 1.0 according to its hazard ratio. Scores were classified into four groups. Groups with high scores were associated with unfavorable outcomes (<I>P</I> < 0.001). Current study suggests that prognostic factors for NHL may be useful to predict the outcome of NTCL but the model should take LDH level and the prognostic weight of each factor into account.</P>

Dysfunction of the inferior alveolar nerve indicated by various degree of numbness of the lower lip and chin is one of the few drawbacks of mandibular osteotomy, especially Bilateral Sagittal Split Ramus Osteotomy(BSSRO) and genioplasty. Although it has been recorded throughout the history of this techniques, it is true etiology poorly understood. In this study, 22 consecutive patients under class III malocclusiion impression and undergoing orthognathic surgery(BSSRO only 11 case, BSSRO with genioplasty 11 case) were studied using 4 neurosensory test(static light touch, directional discrimination, two-point discrimination, pin pressure nociception) with post OP 1 week, 2 weeks,4 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks, 24 weeks, On control group, 10 members without trauma and nerve damage history, nerve test was accomplished. We concluded majority of patients return of sensation during post operative 24 weeks. Althought immediate nerve deficit are 92.2%, 97.2% 88.9% these are recovered to 25%, 35.72%, 10.71% at 24 weeks. Nerve recovery rate increased prominently between post 4 weeks and 8 weeks. There is no statistically difference about neurosensory deficit among the chin area. Neurosensory deficit more severe when the BSSRO with genioplasty group than the only BSSRO group. Immediate neurosensory deficit is larger left side than right side but after 6 months, there is no significantly difference between left side and right side. Static light touch and pin pressure nociception are more sensitive method of neurosensory deficit than two point discrimination.

This study investigated a mechanism for controlling the shape of Cu nanocrystals fabricated using the polyol process, which considers the thermodynamic transition from a facetted surface to a rough surface and the growth mechanisms of nanocrystals with facetted or rough surfaces. The facetted surfaces were stable at relatively low temperatures due to the low entropy of perfectly facetted surfaces. Nanocrystals fabricated using a coordinative surfactant stabilized the facetted surface at a higher temperature than those fabricated using a non-coordinative surfactant. The growth rate of the surface under a given driving force was dependent on the surface structure, i.e., facetted or rough, and the growth of a facetted surface was a thermally activated process. Surface twins decreased the activation energy for growth of the facetted surface and resulted in rod- or wire-shaped nanocrystals

프로그래밍 언어에서 변수를 사용하여 메모리의 특정 영역을 접근하는 것처럼, 텍스트 파일의 특정 영역도 문자열 이름을 가지는 변수로 표현하여 해당 영역의 값을 읽고 수정할 수 있는 텍스트 파일인터페이스를 지원할 수 있다. 이것을 CAE, CAD, CAO 통합 자동화 시스템 분야에서는 파일 랩핑 (File Wrapping) 이라 한다. 파일 랩핑은 CAE, CAD, CAO 통합 자동화의 핵심 기술 중 하나이면서, 파일의 크기와 영역의 개수 및 분포에 따라서 통합 자동화 시스템의 실행 속도에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 논문에서는 파일 랩핑의 핵심 기능을 일반화한 텍스트 파일 영역 관리 모델을 정의하고, 이를 그리드 서비스로 구현한 프로토타입의 구조를 설명한다. 그리고 구현된 프로토타입의 실행 결과 분석을 통하여, 제안된 모델과 텍스트 파일 영역 관리 서비스의 효용성을 검증한다. In the areas of CAE, CAD and CAO integration & automation technology, the word ‘File Wrapping’ means a virtualization of TEXT files that supports variables-based I/Os like variable assignments in programming languages. This File Wrapping process is one of the cornerstones of CAE, CAD and CAO integration & automation, and the performance of File Wrapping process, which is depending onthe size of a TEXT file to be accessed and the number of regions and their distribution, has a critical effect on the total performance of the CAE, CAD and CAO integration & automation systems. In this paper, we define TEXT File Region Management which generalizes the main functions of the File Wrapping process, and describe a prototype of TEXT File Region Management which is implemented as a Grid service. After that, the validity of the proposed model and the TEXT File Region Management service are discussed with evaluation results of the prototype.

<P>This study was designed to investigate the role of obesity in canine malignant mammary tumours (CMMTs), by assessing aromatase expression and the regulatory roles of immune mediators such as cyclo-oxygenase-2 (COX2), prostaglandin E-2 (PGE(2)), nuclear factor kappa beta (NF-kappa B), hypoxia inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1 alpha cc) and adipokines (i.e. leptin) in lean, optimal body weight, overweight and obese animals. Clinicopathological data, including the breed, body weight, body condition score and age and neutering status, were collected, together with histopathological characteristics (i.e. histological types, grading and lymphatic invasion). To determine the expression of each factor, immunohistochemistry was conducted with 60 samples of malignant CMMTs. CMMTs from overweight and obese animals had significantly elevated levels of PGE(2), and aromatase expression correlated significantly with PGE(2), NF-kappa B and leptin expression. However, no significant difference was observed in terms of histopathological characteristics. The results suggest that PGE(2), a known obesity-related immune mediator, could be upregulated in CMMTs from overweight and obese animals. In addition, PGE(2), NF-kappa B and leptin influenced the expression of aromatase, as observed in women. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.</P>

This study was conducted to investigate novel genetic variations of MCIR/R*3 allele. In general, white spotting or white belt on a black backgroud in pigs is determined by the E^(p) allele at the MICR/Extention locus. E^(p) shares a frameshift mutation with the E^(p) allele for dominant black color. An oligonucleotide primer set was designed to amplify complete coding sequence of the porcine MICR gene. The MICR coding sequences obtained from five breeds those were Landrace(white), Yorkshire(white), Hampshire(belt), Berkshire(spot) and Jeju native black pigs(black), were used for this study. A multiple sequence alignment of the MICR coding region using Clustal W was performed. The total length of the MCIR coding sequence ranged from 963 to 966 base pairs(bp) among the selected breeds. The sequence analysis of the complete coding region of MICR was revealed that Hampshire and Jeju native black pig have 3 cytosines deletion and Birkshire has 2 cytosines deletion at codon 23(nt68) in Extention loci. Besides the finding, there were three different missense mutations and a frameshift mutation in the MCIR coding region.
중안면부 골절이 하악 과두 골절에 미치는 영향에 관한 임상적 연구

This is clinico-statistical & retrospective study of 30 patients with only unilateral mandibular condyle fracture and combined with 24 midface fracture patients who were treated with open reduction in Wonkwang University Dental Hospital during the period 1993 to 2000. The results were as follows : 1. In mandibular condyle fracture combined with midface fracture, the most incident type is associated with zygomaticomaxillary complex fracture and level Ⅳ of mandibular condyle fracture combined with ZMC fracture is the most related(33.32%). 2. In the period of intermaxillary fixation, unilateral mandibular condyle fracture group (9.8 days) is shorter than combined with midface fracture group (15.3 days), but no statistical difference between two groups(p.>0.05). 3. In the mouth opening recovery, unilateral mandibular condyle fracture group is faster than combined with midface fracture group in post-operative 1 month, but no significant difference between two-groups after 3 months postoperatively (p>0.05). 4. In two-groups, treatment method is almost open reduction with internal fixation(ORIF) and overall 25% temporary complications were shown, but little lower incidence in unilateral condylar fracture group.
