        Simplified Effective Compressive Strengths of Columns with Intervening Floor Slabs

        The current design codes discuss the effective compressive strengths of columns, which reflect a decrease in load transfer performance that can occur when columns and slabs have different concrete compressive strengths. The effective compressive strength of a column increases as it is confined by the slab, and the design codes mandate three different effective compressive strengths for interior columns (confinement on four sides), exterior columns (confinement on three sides), and corner columns (confinement on two sides). For both corner and exterior columns, the confinement effect of the slab is significantly smaller than that for the interior column, and there is a more marked decrease in load transfer performance. However, there is still a lack of theoretical studies investigating the effective compressive strengths of the corner and exterior columns. Therefore, based on the analysis model established in previous research, this study has proposed an equation for calculating the effective compressive strengths of the corner, exterior and isolated columns without any confinement effects of the slab. In addition, axial loading tests of isolated columns were conducted and the proposed equation was verified.

        Cardiovascular disease is one of the most common cause of death in postmenopausal women. After the onset of menopause, the risk of cardiovascular disease is increased. Several risk factors of cardiovascular disease are well known to us. Among the risk factors, the changes of lipid profiles are roles for cardiovascular disease. Estrogen appears to protect the development of cardiovascular disease, by several mechanism. Especially the protective effect is believed to be mediated by the changes of lipid profiles. Decreased high-density lipoprotein (HDL)-cholesterol and increased low density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol are important factors for development of cardiovascular disease. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of hormone replacement therapy on the lipid profiles to include total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein(HDL)-cholesterol, low density lipoprotein(LDL)-cholesterol, and triglycerides. We measured lipid profiles in 31 postmenopausal women and gave each conjugated equine estrogen (CEE, 0.625mg, day 1-30) plus medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA, 5mg, day 1-12) for 12months. The levels of serum TC, LDL-cholesterol, and triglycerides were decreased significantly (p<0.05) and HDL-cholesterol was increased significantly (p<0.05) after 12months of hormone replacement therapy. These data suggest that hormone replacement therapy appears to protect agianst the development of cardiovascular disease by the changes of lipid profiles.

        감정노동종사자의 명리선천적 직업체질이 직업안녕감에 미치는 영향

        본 연구에서는 감정노동종사자의 명리선천적 직업체질과 직업안녕감의 관계에서 감정노동의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 직장형 및 사업형 체질특성이 직업안녕감에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 직장형 체질특성에 비해 사업형 체질특성이 직업안녕감에 상대적으로 긍정적인 영향을 더 많이 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 사업형 체질특성이 감정노동의 하위변인인 표면행위에 정(+)의 영향을, 직장형 체질특성이 표면행위에 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 자유형 체질특성은 내면행위와 부(-)의 관계를 갖는 것으로 나타났 다. 본격적인 매개효과에 관한 가설 검증에 들어가서, 표면행위는 사업형 체질특성과 직업안녕감의 관계에 대해 긍정적인 부분매개효과를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 다른 변인간의 관계에서는 표면행위가 매개효과를 보이지 않았다. 결국 사업형 체질특성은 외적인 표면행위에 적응적인 태도를 나타내어, 직업안녕감을 높인다는 점을 알 수 있으며, 이를 통해 감정노동에 따른 직무상 심리문제를 이해하여 효과적인 직업선택 및 심리적 중재를 할 수 있는 시사점을 얻었다.

      • 다공질 TiNi 형상기억합금의 고온자전합성에 관한 연구 : A Study on the Self-propagating High-tempaerature Synthesis of Porous TiNi shape Memory Alloy

        고온자전합성법을 이용하여 다공질 TiNi 금속간화합물을 제조하였다. 합성반응에 미치는 원료분말의 특성과 성형체 밀도, 점화온도 등의 영향을 생성물의 미세조직 관찰과 상분석, 기공도 및 기공구조 분석을 통하여 조사하였다. 다양한 원료분말을 사용하여 이들의 조합을 달리하여 준비한 혼합분말에 대한 반응 결과, 반응을 일으키는 최소점화온도는 280-500℃의 넓은 온도 범위로 확인되었으며, Hunter법으로 제조된 Ti 원료분말과 카르보닐 Ni 원료분말을 혼합한 경우에 가장 안정된 반응거동과 양호한 기공구조를 나타내었다. 제조된 반응생성물의 상분석 결과 단상의 TiNi와 제2상으로Ti₂Ni, TiNI₃등이 관찰되었으며, 제2상은 점화온도가 높아짐에 따라 감소하였다. 점화온도의 증가에 따라 기공의 크기도 감소하였으며 그 분포가 균일하여짐을 확인하였다. Porous TiNi intermetallic compound was produced by SHS(Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis). Effects of starting powder characteristics, green density and ignition temperature on synthesis reaction were investigated through microstructural observation, phase analysis, porosity and pore structure of reacted specimens. Minimum ignition temperature for a propagation of thermal wave front ranged from 280 to 500℃ which varied according to starting powder characteristics. Mixtures of Ti produced by Hunter process and carbonyl Ni powders showed a stable reaction behavior and a good pore structure. From the results of XRD phase analysis TiNi was confirmed as a major phase. Additionally, Ti₂Ni and TiNi₃phases were also detected as second phases. The amount of teh second phases decreased with increasing ignition temperature which resulted also in a decrease of pore size and uniform distribution of pores.

        The purpose of this study was to offer the basic data to make the performance assessment be fixed to the reasonable direction by analyzing the realities and understanding about performance assessment in the scene of the juniou high school. This study collected data through the way of writing the self-evaluation using questionnaire inquiries of three areas such as the realities and the understanding about performance assessment and the understanding about coming into operation of the performance assessment with 1,127 junior high school students located in Kangwondo. To analyze the data, this study was expressed by the frequency and percentaye according to the characteristics of questionnaire inquiries, and was analyzed by χ^(2)(chi-square) in acse the examination of difference between groups according to the background changing factors was required. The major results of this study sere as follows. The only half of students understand the meaning about performance assessment but the most of schools is carrying into operation the performance assessment. Students are satisfied with the evaluation content according to the area, not teacher-oriented evaluation but partial-general evaluation, and teachers turned out to have the lack of the understanding about cognitive evaluation.

        One of the economic and efficient process to treat the leachate which venerates at the landfill is the combined treatment with the sewage, which can result in the over-loading and the side effect at the treatment of wastewater. Therefore, this study aims to compare with the generalized A/S process and BNR one in consideration of the nutrient, which apply the combination treatment, and to derive the proper mixing rate of A/S process and BNR one.

      • 유방질환에서 CEA의 분포에 관한 연구

        Carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA), isolated from adenocarcinoma of human digestive system and fetal or gut tissue, is one of tumor associated antigen. In recent years, presence of CEA in various tumors and inflammatory disease has been reported, but studies in mailgnant and bengin cisease of breast, common in female of korea, was rare. Therefore, to understand positive rate of CEA in these disease, the author collected ductal carcinoma 24 cases, fibroadenoma 15 cases, intraductal papilloma 4 cases, and fibrocystic disease 11 cases, and performed immunoenzyme histologic reaction by Avidin-Biotin-complex method using anti-CEA serum, andanalyzed their histologic reaction. 1. In 24 cases of ductal carcinoma, positive reaction of CEA was 16 cases(67%). 2. According to types of ductal carcinoma, positive reaction of infiltrating ductal carcinoma was 9(56%) of 16 cases, intraductal carcinoma all 6 cases, and medullary carcinoma 1(50%) of 2 cases. 3. In benign diseases, positive reaction of fibroadenoma was 2(13%) of 15cases, intraductal papilloma 1(25%) of 4cases, and fibrocystic disease 2(18%) of 11 cases. The above results showed that ductal carcinoma was relatively high positive rate for CEA, especially intraductal carcinoma, and noted that the more differentiation of the carcinoma, the more strong positivity of the CEA. Benign disease showed low positive rate and focal reaction. but evidence of production of CEA was identified in these disease.

      • Prostaglandin이 家兎 腎皮質의 Na-K-ATPase 活性度에 미치는 影響

        Renal prostaglandins(PGs) are synthesized in both the cortex and the medulla. PGs modify the renal excretion of salts and water. This effects of PGs are related to several different sites of action in the kidney that include : 1) direct inhibitory effects on ion transport in the distal tubule: 2) enhancement of basal water permeability of the collecting tubule and inhibition of the hydroosmotic effect of vasopressin. On the other hand, Na--K-ATPase act as carrier of active Na^t transport across the cell membrane. This study was attempted to investigate the action of PGs on the Na-K-ATPase activity in the renal cortical homogenate. PG E_2 and F_2αconcentration in the incubation medium were 100, 10, 1.0 mg/ml, respectively. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. Total ATPase and Na-K-ATPase activity of the renal cortical homogenate were 15.11±0.64 and 1.65±0.18 μM/10min/mg protein. 2. Total ATPase activity in PG E_2 concentration of 100㎍/ml was significantly inhibited as 80.4±5.6% to the control value. 3. PG E_2 inhibited the Na-K-ATPase activity. Especially, 1.0㎍/ml in concentration significantly inhibited the Na-K-ATPase activity as 75.4±19.8 % to the control value. 4. PG F_2α also inhibited the Na-K-ATPase activity. Especially. 1.0 ㎍/ml in concentration significantly different. From the above results, it was suggested the action of PG E_2 and PG F_2α on the kidney was mediated by inhibition of renal cortical Na-K-ATPase activity.

        국소진동장해 평가를 위한 감각신경 및 말초혈류량 검사에 관한 연구

        This study was conducted on 103 male workers exposed to local vibration (exposure workers) and 23 male clergical workers not exposed to local vibration (reference workers) to evaluate the effect of local vibration in a automobile industry workers who had used vibratory tools such as electric bolt impacter or grinder. The assessment methods of this study were some tests recommended by Wasserman and Taylor. None of reference workers complained sensorineural symptoms, but 443.7% of exposed workers complained over one of those symptoms. The proportion of non-recovery type, which means that there was no full recovery of temperature of finger tips, was from 0% to 31.3% in reference workers and from 10.7% to 15.5% in exposure workers. There was statistically significant difference of recovery time of plethysmogram after cold provocation between mean recovery time of 0.44 minutes in reference workers and that of 3.05 minutes in exposure workers. The proportion of bad plethysmogram was form 0% to 4.4% in reference workers and from 3.9% to 7.8% in exposure workers. There was statistically significant difference of discrimination sense between mean length of 2.04 mm in reference workers and that of 2.9 mm in exposure workers. There were also statistically significant difference of pain sense between mean weights of from 5.02 g to 5.26 g in reference workers and those of from 6.81 g to 7.6 g in exposure workers. By the results of multiple stepwise regression analysis the statistically significant variable affecting discrimination and pain sense was exposure and those affecting vibration sense were exposure and age. We concluded that exposure of local vibration in automobile workers was significantly associated with decrease of sensorineural sense regardless of age and other possible related variables.
