고장초 추출물의 t-BHP로 산화적 손상이 유도된 HepG2 세포 보호 효과

고장초는 오랫동안 식용 및 의약 목적으로 차를 만드는 데 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 고장초를 고부가가치 식용재료로 사용하는 연구는 불충분하다. 이전 연구에서 우리는 tricin이 고장초의 주요 화합물임을 확인했다. 본 연구에서는 고장초 추출물의 HepG2 세포 보호 효과를 조사하였다. 고장초 추출물 또는 tricin의 HepG2 세포에 대한 독성 실험 결과, 사용한 모든 농도에서 고장초 추출물 또는 tricin에 대한 독성은 나타나지 않았다. 또한 tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BHP)에 의해 감소된 세포 생존율은 고장초 추출물(100 μg/ml에서 69.23%) 또는 tricin (100 ng/ml에서 74.47%)에 의해 증가되었다. 또한 고장초 추출물(250 μg/ml) 또는 tricin (250 ng/ml)은 산화적 손상에 의한 활성 산소종(ROS) 생성을 효과적으로 억제했다. 또한 항산화 효소로 알려진 superoxide dismutase 1(SOD1), catalase, heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), nuclear factor erythroid-related factor 2 (Nrf2)의 단백질 발현은 고장초 추출물(100 μg/ml에서 2.1, 1.6, 1.7, 1.5배) 또는 tricin (250 ng/ml에서 2.6, 1.8, 2.2, 2.0배) 처리로 증가했으며, 이는 고장초 추출물의 HepG2 세포 보호 효과는 tricin의 활성과 관련이 있다는 것을 시사한다. 종합하면 고장초는 간 기능개선 관련 기능성 식품 소재로 개발이 가능할 것으로 기대된다. Zizania latifolia has long been used as a tea for both edible and medicinal purposes. However, research into the use of Z. latifolia as a high value-added edible material is lacking. In a previous study, we confirmed that tricin is the major component in Z. latifolia. In this study, we investigated the protective effect of a Z. latifolia extract (ZLE). Toxicity tests of ZLE or tricin on HepG2 cells revealed no toxicity due to ZLE or tricin at all concentrations used. The reduction in cell viability by tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BHP) was suppressed by treatment with ZLE or tricin. In addition, ZLE or tricin effectively inhibited the production of reactive oxygen species (generation of hydrogen peroxide, alkoxy free radicals, and peroxyl free radicals by t-BHP) and oxidative damage. ZLE or tricin treatments also increased the protein expression of superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1), catalase, heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), and nuclear factor erythroid-related factor 2 (Nrf2), which are known as antioxidant enzymes, suggesting that the protective effect of ZLE is related to activation of tricin. Taken together, the results indicate that Z. latifolia can be developed as a functional food material for improving liver function.

Admanatinoma is a rare primary malignant tumor of long bone, most of which occur in tibia. This slow-growing tumor may occur at any age. There is considerable controversy regarding the pathogenesis. We experienced recently a case of adamantinoma of long bones in a 18 year-old female. Grossly, submitted specimen consists of multiple fragmented bony spicules admixed with some tumor mass, measuring 6 x 2.5 x 2 cm in dimension of the largest mass. These tumor masses were friable, gelatinous and gray to gray-white in color. Microscopically, sections reveal pseudoglandular pattern with intervening fibrous stroma. Also some strands and nests of undifferentiated appearing cells are noted. The intervening stroma is markedly abundant and fibrous. No squamous epithelial nests are noted.

But we know that Kelvin wave is rotating tide wave affected by revolution of the earth.

Limy bile is a rare condition characterized by excessive precipitation of calcium carbonate in the gallbladder or bile duct. Recently we experienced two cases with obstructive jaundice in which limy bile in the common bile duct but not in the gallbladder for one case, and in the common bile duct and intra hepatic duct but not in the gallbladder for another case. The patients were treated by endoscopic sphincterotomy. Here, we report the cases and review the literature.
능동 궤환을 이용한 0.5 ~ 3 GHz 광대역 구동 증폭기 설계 및 제작

A wideband SiGe HBT driver amplifier has been developed for multimode mobile terminal applications. The amplifier has been designed with an active feedback scheme to have good VSWRs and gain flatness in 0.5 ~ 3 GHz band. The active feedback circuit acts as a shunt feedback circuit, which uses the collector-emitter conductance controlled by the base-emitter voltage. The amplifier has been fabricated on FR-4 board with multichip components. At an optimal tuning condition, the amplifier exhibits a power gain of 13 dB, 10-dB input/output return loss, and 10-dBm 1-dB compression output power in 0.5 ~ 3 GHz band. The ACPR characteristics of the amplifier are -52.1 dBc at cellular band (@ 1.98 MHz offset bands) and -48.3 dBc at IMT-2000 band (@ 5 MHz offset bands).

師範大學의 生物 實驗 敎育의 改善 方向을 강구하기 위하여 전국 15개 師範大學의 生物敎育科에서 敎育하고 있는 실험 실습을 학점을 중심으로 조사하였고 아울러 20개 非師範系 대학의 생물 실험실습 학점도 조사하여 비교하고, 분석 하므로서 다음과 같은 몇 가지 결과를 얻게 되었다. 1) 師範系 生物 敎育科의 전공 학과중 實驗 實習 배정시간 및 학점수를 늘려 나가야 하겠다. 2) 探究學習 지도 能力을 保有할 수 있도록 實驗 實習 指導 改善 方法을 강구해야겠다. 3) 基礎 共通科目은 3과목 모두를 최소한 1학기는 이수토록 해야 하고 반드시 실험 실습을 竝行 하여야 하겠다. A study for the model of the laboratory experiment curriculum in teacher's college seience was done. Because of individual characteristics in each field in department sc-ience education, the model was not necessarily unique. However, the common elements of frame in this model were suggested as follows : 1. The ratio of laboratory experiment's credits and total major credits. 2. The ratio of basic common laboratory experiment's credits (basic physics, basic chemistry, basic biology, and basic earth science) and total laboratory experiment's credits. 3. Credits and course name of laboratory experiments charactoristic for the science education in teacher's college. 4. Suggestion of the experimental guide for an inquiry learning.

Background: Significant increases in the prevalence of obesity have been observed among patients with peritoneal dialysis (PD). The impact of body mass index (BMI) on survival remains unknown in Korean PD patients. Methods: Among data of 80,674 patients on PD acquired from the Insan Memorial ESRD Registry database for the years 1985 to 2014, 6,071 cases were analyzed. Subjects were classified by baseline BMI; < 21.19 kg/m2 (quartile 1, n = 1,518), 21.19 to 23.18 kg/ ㎡ (quartile 2, reference; n = 1,453), 23.19 to 25.71 kg/ ㎡ (quartile 3, n = 1,583), and > 25.71 kg/ ㎡ (quartile 4, n = 1,517). Results: Mean age was 65.8 years, and baseline BMI was 23.57 kg/ ㎡. Numbers of male and diabetic patients were 3,492 (57.5%) and 2,192 (36.1%), respectively. Among 6,071 cases, 2,229 (36.7%) all-cause deaths occurred. As a whole, Kaplan-Meier survival curves according to BMI quartiles was significantly different (P = 0.001). All-cause mortality was significantly higher in quartile 4 than in the reference (hazard ratio [HR] = 1.154, 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.025-1.300; P = 0.018). There was no statistical difference in all-cause mortality among BMI quartiles in diabetic patients on PD. In non-diabetic patients, all-cause mortality of quartiles 1 and 3 was not different from the reference, but the HR was 1.176 times higher in quartile 4 (95% CI, 1.024-1.350; P = 0.022). Conclusion: Baseline BMI > 25.71 kg/ ㎡ seems to be an important risk factor for all-cause mortality in Korean PD patients.
