For the purpose of finding out physical and character of rugby-football players, 50 players of highschool and 50 players of college have become the object of test standing height, body weight, 100m-running, 1500m-running, zigzag-run, kick, rugby-ball throwing through 1st, March, 1979 to 31th, March, 1979. According to the document of rugby-football association, trying-number of major goal-in of 19 years, from 1960 to 1978, and trying-number of all 228 games of spring-season-leagues and championship for list were accounted per 5 years. The physique of rugby-football players showed in average 174.0cm-standing height, 69.2kg-body weight and players of college are superior to them of highschool. Their record showed in average 13.3 seconds in 100m-running, 5 minutes and 57 seconds in 1500m-running and 10.3 seconds in zigzag-run with rugby-football. They marked 39.3m in kick, and threw rugby-football 7.7 times successfully, which show that there is no difference of highschool players and college players. But players of highschool and college marked a little superiority in test-record of 100m-running, zigzag-run, and kick. The trying-number did not change distinctively in 1960's, but, since 1970's, it has increased and trying-number of T.B. also has increased while it of F.W. decreased. The general trying-number is 258 in F.W. 57 in HB, and T.B-trying-number marked the highest record as marking the record 431.

This studies was carried out to investigate the processing possibility of pheasant meat extracts treated with proteases. The crude protein, aminonitrogen, degree of hydrolysis, yield and amino acid composition of pheasant meat extracts when it was treated with proteases at various temperature and reaction time were analyzed. The crude protein contents of pheasant meat extracts processed in 130℃ were more than when it was done in 100℃, but the contents of aminonitrogen were not quite different between two processing temperature. The content of crude protein and aminonitrogen when pheasant meat was hydrolyzed with protease NP and prozyme A. The yields of pheasant meat extracts, when pheasant meat were treated at 100℃ and 130℃, were from 2.24 to 7.10% and from 5.51 to 10.45%, respectively. And the yield of extraction depended on extraction temperature, kinds of enzyme, amount of enzyme, extraction time. The content of aminonitrogen in pheasant meat extracts treated with enzyme was much higher than any other treatments. And it depended on amount of enzyme, extraction time and temperature. The amount of the amino acids in pheasant meat extracts treated by protease NP were eminently higher than by heat at 100℃ or 130℃.

Background: Rosae Multiflorae fructus (RMF), known to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, has been used as a traditional remedy for inflammatory diseases such as arthritis in Eastern Asia. However, its effect on osteoclasts, which play a crucial role in resorptive inflammatory bone diseases, is yet to be elucidated. Methods: The effect of extract of RMF (RMF-E) on receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL)-mediated osteoclastogenesis was examined by tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) staining, real-time polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis. In addition, RANKL-induced Ca2+-oscillation was also investigated. Results: RMF-E remarkably inhibited TRAP+-osteoclast and resorptive pit formation in a dose-dependent manner. In addition, the expression of c-Fos and nuclear factor of activated T-cells cytoplasmic, known as pivotal transcription factors for osteoclast formation in vitro and in vivo, and that of the osteoclast differentiation markers such as Acp5, Oscar, CtsK, Atp6v0d2, Tm7sf4, and Nfatc1 were significantly decreased by RMF-E treatment during osteoclastogenesis. The inhibitory effect of RMF-E on RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis was caused by the suppression of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase activation, and RANKL-induced Ca2+-oscillation removal via inactivation of Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK), and subsequently phospholipase C-γ2. Conclusions: RMF-E negatively regulates osteoclast differentiation and formation. These findings suggest the possibility of RMF-E as a traditional therapeutic agent against osteoclast-related bone disorders such as osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and periodontitis.
A Nonlinear Theory for the Brusselator Near the Critical Point Caused by Diffusion

A nonlinear theory is presented for the fluctuations of intermediates in the Brusselator near the critical point caused by diffusion. The method used is the two time scaling method different from the conventional method in the sense that a slight nonlinear effect is included in the initial time region where the linear approximation is conventionally valid. The result obtained by the nonlinear theory shows that fluctuations close to the critical point approach the value of a stable steady state or deviate infinitely from an unstable steady state, as time goes to infinity, while the linear theory gives approximately time-independent fluctuations. A brief discussion is given for the correlation at a time between fluctuating intermediates when the system approaches a stable steady state.

A new commercial cultivar "GARES-HM-18-1" of Hypsizigus marmoreus was developed by the method of monomono crossing between monokaryotic strains derived from BN-23((KNR8047-17* KNR8080-19)-6×(KNR8047-17* KNR8080-19)-16) and N-39((KNR8407-17*8080-19)-12×(KNR8407-17*8080-19)-13). The parental strains are characterized by the property of high quality with white color in the stipe and pileus. They have a short period of time in cultivation. The optimum temperature of mycelial growth was 25°C and that of fruiting body development was 15~16°C. The period of harvesting including primordia formation was 21.3 days shorter than that of control strain Mangadak No.2. The color of pileus and stipe surface was neutral-white, respectively. The yield was 114.1±24.4g/850cc plastic bottle. Analysis of the genetic characteristics of the new commercial cultivar "GARES-HM-18-2" showed a different profile as that of the control strain, Mangadak No.2, when RAPD (Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA) primer was used. This new cultivar "GARES-HM-18-2" of H. marmoreus is characterized by the improved quality and a short period of time in cultivation after scratching. It would be of much help to expand the cultivation area of H. marmoreus.
