      • 개의 아토피 피부염에 대한 Leflunomide의 임상적 적용 1례

        A Shih-tzu(8-year-old, castrated male) was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University with the history of relapsing pruritus, recurrent dermatitis. On the physical examination, generalized erythema, otitis externa, alopecia and lichenification were observed. Using Favrot's criteria for diagnishing atopic dermatitis, 7 criteria were satisfied out of 8 criteria. After treatment for infection, intradermal skin test was performed(positive allergen : Df, Dp). And then immunotherapy was performed, but clinical signs were not getting better. Next treatment of glucocorticoid shown little improvement of clinical signs, and adverse effect(diarrhea) was shown after cyclosporine application. So application of leflunomide which is used for human atopic dermatitis treatment in some case was planned. After 6 months of application of leflunomide, clinical signs were decreased gradually.

      • 결장직장암 환자의 임상적 고찰 : 조선대학교 부속병원의 10년 간의 결과

        Background and Objectives: The colorectal cancer rates 4th in the total cancer prevalence in Korea. The clinical patient demographics were considered with the incidence rate of the colon and rectal cancer. The clinicopathological factors were analyzed for the 5 year survival rate. Materials Methods: Of the 282 patients who were operated from Jan. 1, 1992 to Dec. 31, 2001 and diagnosed by pathological biopsy as colo-rectal cancer, 234 patients were followed up. The age, sex, location of the cancer, TNM stage, operation method, histopathological classification, metastatic region, complications after operation and the survival rate were investigated. Results: Of the 234 patients, male and female consisted of 120 cases (51.3%) and 114 cases (46.7%), with an average age of 61.6 years. The average follow up period was 52.3 months and the peri operative mortality was 5.6%. The site of the cancer was most frequent at the rectum with 127 cases (54.3%). The patients were classified according to the TNM stages with 38 cases of stage 1 (16.2%), 98 cases of II (41.9%), 72 cases of III (30.8%) and 26 cases of IV (11.1%). The 5 year survival rate in the age group older than 50 was 63.3 % and 73.5% in the group younger than 50. In regard to the operation type, the 5 year survival rate was 65.4% for elective operation and 65.8% for emergency operation. The 5 year survival rate for well differentiated, moderately differentiated, poorly differentiated cancer, and mucinous adenocarcinoma was 73.7%, 60.2%, 58.3%, and 92.6%, respectively. The 5 year survival rate of each of the TNM stage is 81.1%, 74.8%, 57.0%, and 11.5% for Classes I, II, III, and IV, respectively. Conclusion: The clinical factors were analyzed for the 5 year survival rate with no statistical significance for the age, sex, and location of the cancer. The TNM stage and histopathological differentiation were statistically significant. The colon cancer showed better prognosis compared to the rectal cancer.

        미립자 응집반응을 이용한 C-reactive Protein의 면역측정법에 관한 연구

        환자의 복수와 늑막액으로부터 p-diazonium phenylphosphorylcholine(DPPC) coupled Separose-4B affinity chromatography와 hydroxylapatite chromatography를 실시하여 C-reactive protein (CRP)를 분리, 정제하였다. 정제된 CRP를 토끼에게 면역화하여 항혈청을 얻고 affinity chromatography를 하여 면역항체(IgG)를 분리하였다. 분리된 면역항체를 미립자에 감작시킨 후 미립자 응집반응에 의하여 3분내에 CRP를 측정할 수 있는 간이 면역측정법을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 CRP측정법의 검출범위는 0.5∼20㎎/㎗이며, 임상 시험 결과 0.7∼2.9㎎/㎗에서는 강한 응집반응을, 5.0∼13.2㎎/㎗에서는 약한 응집반응을 보였고 28㎎/㎗이상에서는 항원 과잉으로 인한(zone of Ag excess phenomenon) 위음성을 나타냈다. 74명의 환자 혈청을 대상으로 CRP의 농도를 조사한 결과 평균치는 3.8㎎/㎗이었으며 대부분의 환자에서는 10㎎/㎗ 이하의 농도로 존재하였다. 그러므로 1차판정시 음성을 나타낸 시료라도 혈청을 5∼10배정도 희석하여 재분석한다면 오차없이 CRP를 검출할 수 있었다. 환자 혈청을 검체로 하여 본 연구에서 개발한 면역측정법과 현재 수입 시판중인 프랑스의 B사 제품과 일본의 I사 제품을 비교한 결과 좋은 상관관계를 보였다. 이와 같은 평가 분석을 통하여 볼 때 본 연구에서 개발한 간이 면역측정법은 사용이 비교적 간편하며 신빙성이 있어 CRP를 스크리닝 하는데 효과적임을 알 수 있었다. The C-reactive protein(CRP) from ascitic and pleural fluid was purified using calcium dependent affinity chromatography of CNBr activated Sepharose-4B covalently coupled to p-diazonium phenylphosphorylcholine(DPPC) and hydroxylapitite chromatography. Polyclonal antibody was prepared from rabbit by immunizing the purified CRP. Specific immunoglobulin G was isolated using affinity chromatography and coupled to microparticles. A sensitive microparticle-based immunoassay was developed to measure CRP within 3 mins. The detection range was between 0.5㎎/㎗ and 20㎎/㎗ in serum, showing strong response in the range of 0.7∼2.9㎎/㎗, week response in 5.0∼13.2㎎/㎗ and zone phenomenon over 28㎎/㎗. The average value of CRP in 74 samples was 3.8㎎/㎗ and most of the values were lower than 10㎎/㎗. The CRP values of serum samples were determined by our microparticle-based immunoassay, and were compared with those obtained using the other commercial products(B Co., France and I Co., Japan). Good correlations were shown between the values obtained by our developed microparticle-based immunoassay system and those by other commercial products. All performance characteristics evaluated make our developed microparticles-based immunoassay suitable for a simple, rapid, and reliable screening of CRP in serum.

        The purpose of this study is to suggest basic data to make out the program about the health and promotion of physical fitness. So, we measured the status of the present police officers physical fitness through measuring their height, weight, %body fat, and healthy physical fitness and through comparing it with popular physical fitness survey data in an age. The conclusion that compared and analyzed the measuring result of the height, weight, and the element of healthy physical fitness of 143 police officers in G province is following First, Their height, weight, board jumping and VO2max is seemed to be high as compared with the standard. Second, %Body fat is closely similar with the standard. Third, The flexibility and sit-up is seemed to standard below By this time, it is true that the study of the superiority players evaluation of physical fitness is developing in our country. But, the study of the physical fitness evaluation about non-player, that is general person has been neglected in korea. So, it is not very enough the study and developing program for the improving the general person's physical fitness. Therefore, It should make the spacial study of the various physical fitness of korean in an occupation, a sex and age. And then, the special exercise program that can satisfy the various needs of today 'men is needed. Also, it should make the vertical study for the improvement of physical strength in vocational classification. Also, the government and office should invest institutional effort to help the police officer' health and welfare. Police officers also have to learn themselves the efficient and continuous exercise habit to be happy with health in considering their own physical condition. And then, the prescription of the exercise program about the result must come with.

      • 자연친화적 과학계발활동 프로그램의 적용이 과학에 대한 태도에 미치는 효과

        This study organized a Nature Friendly Science Improvement Activity Program designed for the middle school students', and applied it to the relevant students, and then analyzed the effect of e program on science-related attitudes. The science club students in G middle school in Busan were sampled as the objects of the study consisting of one experiment group and one control group. The Nature Friendly Improvement Activity Program was applied to the experiment group as a club activity which was conducted every second Saturday from April to November. T-test for the pre-test was used to examine the homogeneity between groups, and t-test for the post-test was used to see the effects of applying a Science Improvement Activity Program on science-related attitudes between two groups. The following were the results of this study: First, the students participated in the Science Improvement Activity showed an increase in the science-related attitudes compared with those who didn't. At first, the experiment and control groups had the same level of sdence-related attitudes, but the former indicated a higher level of improvement in attitudes than the latter after taking part in the program, and showed a significant difference in the development of science-related attitudes regarding that of the control group. Second, women showed an effective increase in the science-related attitudes compared with men. Various activities with easily usable materials will be effective to enhance the science-related attitudes for women. Third, by applying a Nature Friendly Improvement Activity Program, science-related attitudes in the inactive group reluctant to participate science events were more positively established than those in the active group. These results of this study led to the following suggestions: It is expected that the development of various activities for science improvement will be effective in enhancing the science-related attitudes. And it is also expected that the development of activity programs and their active application should be done in order to provide science education according to each student's capacity from various angles in school.

      • 정상인에서 전기 및 자기 자극을 이용한 설 근육의 전기생리학적 평가

        Background: Abnormality of lingual muscles is clinically common. But its exact clinical assessment is quite difficult. Evaluation of motor power of the lingual muscles and their neural pathway is limited because of anatomical inaccessibility and individual variation of subjective symptoms. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) of the human motor cortex is a non-invasive tool to assess the functional integrity of the fast conducting central motor pathways and electrical stimulation of lingual nerve is a conventional method of peripheral nerve conduction. Therefore both study will be helpful to understanding of pathophysiology of lingual abnormality. Until now there is no such report in Korea. This study was conducted to acquire the easier method and normal control values of Korean subjects. Method: We recorded the motor responses from the lingual muscles of 32 healthy subjects (22 men, 10 women) by focal cortical TMS with a circular coil. Motor potentials were recorded by means of surface electrodes applied on the both side of the tongue, following TMS several centimeters lateral from the vertex and parietooccipital cortex and peripheral electrical stimulation of the 12th cranial nerve at the lateral 1/3 point of the line between the midline and angle of mandible. Results: During moderate motor activation, majority of maximal motor response were obtained 4-6cm lateral to the vertex with similar latencies. And the responses from magnetic stimulation of the intracranial segment of hypoglossal nerve were discarded because of difficulty to obtain and unsatisfactory reproducibility. The latency of motor evoked potentials in right cortical stimulation was 10.08 ± 1.17 msec and in left stimulation 10.04 ± 1.32 msec. The amplitudes in right 2.15 ± 1.02, left 2.09 ± 1.11 mV. The latencies electric hypoglossal nerve stimulation were 2.42 ± 0.34 in right, 2.49 ± 0.35 msec in left side. The amplitudes were 2.90 ± 2.37 in right, 2.43 ± 1.86 mV in left side. Central conduction times as calculated by subtracting the response latencies obtained by magnetic and electric stimulation are right 7.65 ± 1.19, left 7.55 ± 1.35 msec. There was no significant difference between man and woman, Conclusion: The method may be efficient, noninvasive, painless, and easy reproduced. With more extensive application to various neurological disorders, it comes close to being an ideal clinical conduction study technique for this cranial nerve.

      • 항만하역 근로자들의 직업적 특성과 사회심리적 스트레스에 관한 연구

        Objective : The objective of this study is to evaluate the job characteristics of container terminal workers by applying the Job Strain model, and to assess the relationship among the general characteristics, job characteristics and psychosocial distress. Methods and Material : A self-administrated questionnaire survey was performed in Busan. The subjects were consisted of 100 white-collar workers and 100 blue-collar workers. We used Karaseks Job Content Questionnaire for evaluation of the job characteristics and Psychosocial well-being index (PWI) for measuring the extent of their psychosocial stress. Results : In white-collar workers, the skill discretion, created skill, decision-making authority, decision-making latitude, psychological job demand, and supervisor support of the job characteristics were significantly high, while in blue-collar workers physicalexertion was significantly high. PWl reveals that blue-collar workers were mere stressed than white-collar workers, especially, the factor 2, 3 and 4 were significantly increased; whereas, in white-collar workers, only the index of factor 1 was significantly increased. And PWl scores were significantly increased in the lower social support and psychological job demand. blue-collar workers had increased odds ratio of 2.66(95% CI:1.11-6.41) compared with white-collar workers. The unmarried workers increased odds ratio of 3.54(95% CI;1.18-10.62) compared with married workers. And workers who have not own house increased odds ratio of 2.35(95% CI;1.15-4.79) compared with workers who have own house. Particularly, odds ratio of work-shift in blue-collar workers was 11.10(2.14-57.64). (multiple logistic regression analysis PWI). Conclusion : The results of this study correspond with the fact that The more job demand is high and Job control is low, the more job stress is high. Job stress of blue-collar workers was comparatively higher than that of white-collar workers, sleeping, smoking, and work shifting turned out to be a main cause that increases stress. Therefore, in order to decrease the job stress, a health promotion program to change the health behaviors should be activated and an organized job stress management program should be introduced. Especially, working condition for blue-collar such as physical exertion and work-shift should be improved.

      • 산이 폴리에틸렌 텔레프텔레이트 섬유의 알칼리 가수분해에 미치는 영향

        To control the weight loss in the treatment of Poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) fabric with NaOH, HCl and CH( )COOH, as regulating reagent, were added to the 0.5 MNaOH solution. The mixing ratio of acids to 0.5M NaOH were varied. PET fabrics were treated with aqueous solutions of mixture of acids arid NaOH under different contritions. The weight loss of PET fabric, the rate of weight loss, the apparent activation energy(Ea), the handle value, the eroded surface of treated PET fiber, and the effect of salts such as NaCl, CH( )COONa, and NH( )Cl on the weight loss were discussed. The addition of acids to a fixed concentration of NaOH deceased weight loss of PET fabric because of formation of salts but the weight loss of PET fabric treated with corresponding concentrations of NaOH to the content of acids added were lower than those treated with the aqueous solutions of mixture of CH( )COOH and NaOH and higher than those treated with the aqueous solutions of mixture of HCI and NaOH. Especially, as the treatment time elapsed CH( )COONa formed by addition of CH( )COOH to NaOH was hydrolyzed to NaOH and undissociated CH( )COOH and hydrolyzed NaOH contributed to the increase in the weight loss of PET fabric. The addition of NaCl to NaOH accelerated the reaction of OH- with PET greatly, the addition of NH( )Cl decreased the weight loss of PET fabric, and the addition of CH( )COONa somewhat increased the weight loss. It was thought that the very noticeable fact that the addition of NaCl to NaOH promoted the hydrolysis of PET by NaOH would contribute to the conservation of energy and NaOH in the weight loss finishing process of PET fabric. The eroded surface of PET fiber was independent of the differnce in the kinds of acids and salts added.
