As for O'Neill, the playwright today must dig at the roots of the sickness of today as he feels it-the death of the old God and the failure of science and materialism to give any satisfying new one for the surviving primitive religious instinct to find a meaning for life in, and to comfort its fears of death with. The characters in the middle plays, The Hairy Ape and The Great God Brown, try to achieve self-realization through the pursuit of a new god to give meaning to human existence and to comfort the fear of death. O'Neill suggests that man's blind pursuit of material life in a capitalist society makes him dehumanized. Man is alienated by the god of science and materialism made by himself. His blind pursuit of the material life results in his spiritual corruption. O'Neill severely criticizes the established religions and a capitalist society, and seeks for his new god within man's inner self and purity.

Eugene O'Neill tries to explore and express his dramatic visions and literary values through the inner life of man who has lost his belief in his being and wanders in quest of identity. His object of self-exploration is to achieve a better understanding of man's inner life. He searches for "something" which oppresses and controls the psychological realities of human life. O'Neill defines "something" as "the Force behind- Fate, God, our biological past creating our present, whatever one calls it- Mystery certainly." The very mysterious, inscrutable Forces behind human life make O'Neill express himself in art. In his early plays, The Moon of the Caribbees and Beyond the Horizon, O'Neill shows the existential anxieties of the characters who are frustrated and defeated by the Force indifferent to their will. His characters can not understand nor conquer the unseen forces, and their dreams and longings end in loss by the hostile forces. They are the representatives of anxieties of human existence by the outside environment.

O'Neill defines "something" as "the Force behind- Fate, God, our biological past creating our present, whatever one calls it- Mystery certainly." the very mysterious, inscrutable Forces behind human life make O'Neill express himself in art. 적응중첩함수에 의한 음성신호의 최적특징 추출

This thesis is proposed the adaptive overlap function for absorbing the time variation of speech signal. In this paper, the time variation which is known to the problem on speech recognition is absorbed by diving the speech signal into the equal number of frames regardless of lenght of signal and the frames of the signal are divided by the adaptive overlap function. Equal number of the features of the speech signal extracted from the frame data by using FRLS. As the results that the proposed algorithm applied to the numeral speech, it was found that the adaptive overlap function was absorbed the time variation by dividing the speech signal into the constant frame number, equal number of the features of the speech signal were extracted from each frame.

전기경련치료(ECT)시 뇌파의 비선형 분석 : 단일증례 연구 A Single Case Study

연구목적 : 비선형 분석을 통해 전기경련 치료(ECT)의 적절성 및 효과를 판정할 수 있는 새로운 변인을 추출해 낼 가능성을 탐색하기 위하여 한 여성 우울증 환자에서 ECT중 기록한 뇌파의 단일증례 분석을 하였다. 방 법 : 1주일 간격을 둔 두 ECT 회기에서 치료전 안정상태, 마취후-경련전상태, 경련상태, 경련후 뇌파억제상태, 치료후 안정상태의 다섯 상태에 따른 뇌파를 디지털 기록한 데이터를 분석하였다. 결 과 : 분석의 결과 1) 뇌파가 10차원 이하 저차원의 결정론적 성질을 가지고있으며 2) 뇌파는 비정상적(non-stationary)이지만 비선형 지수들이 각 상태 뇌파를 안정적으로 구분해 줄 수 있고 3) ECT 회기의 진행에 따라 경련중 뇌파의 결정론적 성질이 증가하며 4) ECT 회기의 진행에 따라 치료전후 안정상태 뇌파의 최대발산지수(PLE) 및 상관차원이 증가한다는 사실을 관찰할 수 있었다. 결 론 : 단일증례에 대한 다양한 비선형 분석의 결과는 ECT의 치료효과를 정량화할 수 있는 변인으로서 PLE, 상관차원 등 비선형 변수들이 사용될 수 있을 가능성을 제시한다. Objectives : In order to search for new parameters for the evaluation of the adequacy of electroconvulsive therapy(ECT), the authors performed a non-linear analysis of electroencephalogram(EEG) recorded during the course of electroconvulsive therapy(ECT) in a single female patient with depression. Methods : Digitized EEG recordings from two ECT sessions spaced one week were analyzed at five different stages ; pretreatment stable, postanesthetic-preictal, ictal, postical suppression and posttreatment stable stages. Results : Our analysis showed that 1) EEG signals had low dimensional(below 10 dimensions) deterministic characteristics 2) although EEG was nonstationary signal, non-linear parameters could reliably differentiate between various stages we examined. 3) the deterministic property of ictal EEG increased according to the progression of sessions and 4) the primary Lyapunov exponent(PLE) and correlation dimension of pre- and post-treatment stable stage EEG increased according to the progression of sessions. Conclusion : In this single case study, results of various non-linear analyses suggested that non-linear variables extracted from EEG recordings during ECT may have utilities as tools for the quantitative evaluation of ECT.

His progressive inquiry into man's inner life in his major plays leads to the final belief in "there being no antithesis between past and future, dream and reality, truth and falsehood, good and evil, hope and despair." All things become one in the center. This belief moves from negation to affirmation- from hopelessness to hope. Thus, the dramatic vision in his major plays has developed into more optimism in chronological order: from despair, frustration, struggle, and reconciliation, to hope.

특수교육진흥법 규정의 분석과 해석 (2) : 주요 내용 및 절차 사항을 중심으로 Focusing on the Major Contents and Procedures

본 연구는 특수교육진흥법의 규정을 체계적으로 분석·검토함으로써 그 개정의 방향을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 1994년 특수 교육진흥법을 중심에 두고 이 법률이 특수교육에 관해 규정한 주요 내용과 절차 사항을 비판적으로 분석·검토하고, 이를 1977년 특수교육진흥법 규정과도 비교·논의하였다. 구체적으로 특수교육진흥법의 주요 규정을 특수교육의 성격과 범위(의무교육, 무상교육, 위탁교육, 공교육, 적절한 교육), 특수교육대상자의 선정과 배치(진단·평가, 심사, 선정, 배치), 특수교육대상자의 교육(개별화교육계획의 수립, 특수교육의 실시, 치료교육의 실시) 등 세 영역으로 대별하여 분석·해석한 다음, 1994년 개정 특수교육진흥법에 직·간접적인 영향을 미친 미국의 장애인교육법(IDEA: Individuals with Disabilities Education Act)과도 비교·논의하였다. 이러한 규정점토와 논의를 통해, '한국' 특수교육의 발전을 위한 법개정의 대안을 제안하였다. The present study was undertaken to systematically analyze and examine the provisions of the Special Education Promotion Law (SEPL) and ultimately to recommend the directions for the future revision of the law. The major contents and procedures regulated by the law amended in 1994 on the Korean special education were critically discussed and were compared with the law enacted in 1977. In the study, the major articles of the law were examined in terns of three important areas. First the discussion on the nature and the scope of special education included compulsory and/or free education, consigning special education to private special education institute, public education, and appropriate education. Second, the selection and placement procedures of the children with disabilities were reviewed. including diagnosis and evaluation, judgment, and selection of the children with disabilities, and their placement in the schools. Finally, the educational processes with the children with disabilities were analyzed and interpreted in the three aspects of individualized education planning, special education, and therapeutic education delivery. In addition, these contents and procedures were compared with the 1997 amendments of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) had directly and indirectly influenced the law revised in t994. Through these regulation examination and theoretical interpretation, the alternatives for the revision of the law were presented to further develop 'Korean' special education.

Android 기반의 PC 원격 제어기

One of the most attracting and interesting point of the application of the smart phone, particularly such as Android based smart phone, is not only providing additional useful functions to the user but also its easy and wide availability through the connection of the other types of devices. In this paper, we proposed and implemented Android application for the Remote PC control. In this paper, we used UDP network communication for sending data to the server and controlled the packet transmission rate to minimize the packet loss. And we used Spy++ tools and PostMessage function to controll outer device. We show that application based on the Android is very useful method for achieving and supporting the harmonized function between various independent devices
