Coexistence of Darier's Disease and Acrokeratosis Verruciformis of Hopf
Suleyman Piskin,Aslihan Saygin,Latife Doganay,Deniz Kircuval,Eylem Gurkan 연세대학교의과대학 2004 Yonsei medical journal Vol.45 No.5
Darier's disease and acrokeratosis verruciformis are inherited with the same pattern and they share similar clinical properties. We present a patient with both Darier's disease and acrokeratosis verruciformis. The patient had had brownish and skin-colored papules, initially on her face and neck, since the age of 25. Similar lesions had gradually spread to various parts of her body and lastly the dorsal aspect of her feet. On dermatological examination, brownish and skin-colored, 2 to 5mm, keratotic papules were observed on her face, neck, both axillae, inframammary regions, and dorsa of the hands and feet. The nail examination revealed “V” shaped notches and longitudinal ridges on the fingers of both hands. The biopsy taken from the neck showed typical findings for Darier's disease. The biopsy from the dorsa of the left foot revealed the distinctive structures of acrokeratosis verruciformis. In this article the clinical and histopathological findings of these diseases are reviewed based on our patient.
Noncompaction of Ventricular Myocardium Involving the Right Ventricle
Muzaffer Saglam,Hasan Saygin,Huseyin Kozan,Ersin Ozturk,Hakan Mutlu 대한심장학회 2015 Korean Circulation Journal Vol.45 No.5
Noncompaction ventricular myocardium is an unusual cause of cardiomyopathy. It is association with congenital heart defects, most often with outflow obstructive lesions or coronary anomalies. However, no factor could explain the arrest of development of myocardial structure (isolated form). The pathogenesis of isolated noncompaction is thought to be an arrest in endomyocardial morphogenesis. It has been reported that myocardial noncompaction could present as acquired disease. The most common site of involvement is the left ventricle, with right ventricular involvement being reported in a few cases. In this report, we present a case with noncompaction of the right ventricle (RV). Cardiac computed tomography angiography and magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated morphological abnormalities of the RV
Dynamics Parameter' Graphs of Passenger Planes
Aksoz, Ahmet,Dursun, Mahir,Saygin, Ali The Society for Aerospace System Engineering 2015 International Journal of Aerospace System Engineer Vol.2 No.1
Passenger plane flying motion graphics is very important for route, control of the flight altitude and passenger safety. For all that, it is quite useful for route away from the disruptive influences such as vibrations caused by storms or turbulence during the flight and in processes such as re-arrest of the specified route. Therefore, the response time against the adverse effects of the shape and the system is so necessary for both safety and comfort. In this study motion and route graphics were obtained under the control of an airliner C # interface with the program. In this way, graphics were obtained in solving the equations of motion in short time and design time was shortened.
Endoscopic Findings of Children with Familial Mediterranean Fever
Sag, Elif,Demir, Ferhat,Saygin, Ismail,Kalyoncu, Mukaddes,Cakir, Murat The Korean Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology 2018 Pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology & nutrition Vol.21 No.4
Purpose: Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is an auto inflammatory disease characterized by periodic fever, synovitis and serositis. Patients may be admitted to gastroenterology units due to gastrointestinal symptoms. In this study; we aimed to analyze endoscopic findings and diagnostic utility of endoscopic procedure in children with FMF. Methods: Patient with FMF that was performed endoscopy for the gastrointestinal symptoms were included to the study (39 of 164 patients, 53 procedure). A control group was randomly designed as age and gender matched four endoscopic procedures per one endoscopic procedure of patients with FMF (n=212). Results: No different was found between the patients and control group in esophagogastroscopy findings. However, the diagnosis of gastrointestinal pathology was made by esophagogastroscopy in 46.2% patients. Colonoscopic examination revealed that the frequency of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) was higher in undiagnosed patients compared to both the control group (50.0% vs. 6.9%, p<0.05, odds ratio [OR]:13.4 and 95% confidence inteval [95% CI]: 2.1-84.3) and the patients under colchicine treatment (50.0% vs. 8.3%, p<0.05, OR: 11 and 95% CI: 0.8-147.8). Colonoscopic procedure that was made after the diagnosis was found to provide contribution by 16.7% in determining the etiology of the additional symptoms. Conclusion: Patients with FMF may be admitted to pediatric gastroenterology outpatient clinic prior to diagnosis or during the follow-up period. The frequency of IBD is high in undiagnosed patients with FMF. Endoscopic procedures may be helpful in these patients for the diagnosis accompanying mucosal lesions.
