The high speed elimination process of suspended solid was investigated to treat the pulp waste water by using surface modified magnetite particle and magnetic power. The effects of the various aluminum salts such as Al(NO₃)₃ 9H₂O, AICI₃ 6H₂O, Al₂(SO₄) ₃ 13 ~14 on the COD, BOD and suspended solid were systematically studied. It has been found that the 2.0 wt% of Al was most effective for the modification of Fe₃O₄ powder and then best for the treatment of pulp waste water. Optimum quantity of modified magnetite in this study was 12 wt%, and aging time was found to be 12 hours. Comparing with the conventional process, the required time for SS removal was drastically decreased. BOB and COD were also effectively removed when applied to the pulp wastewater.

Chronic neutrophilic leukemia(CNL) is a very rare myeloproliferative disease, characterized by sustained mature neutrophilic leukocytosis with granulocytic bone marrow infiltration, high NAP(neutrophilic alkaline phosphatase) score and absence of philadelphia chromosome, It is frequently accompanied by hepatosplenomegaly, elevated serum vitamin B_12 and uric acid level. For the diagnosis of CNL, the leukemoid reaction, especially secondary to neoplasia, infection and autoimmune diseases, should be excluded. Since Tuohy's first description in 1920, more than 50 cases fullfilling the above criteria have been reported worldwide, and 4 cases in Korea. Several authors have demonstrated the defect of intracellualr killing in the mature neutrophil and this finding correlates well with the very high incidence of fatal infection, The hemorrhagic diasthesis in CNL is caused by functional abnormality of the platelet. This disease has tendency to transform to blastic crisis and acute leukemia as in other myeloproliferative disease, but characteristically shows frequent coexistence with multiple myeloma. Until now , the therapeutic trials in CNL have been disappointing. Hydroxyrea and busulfan can control hyperleukocytosis. On the basis of functional defect in neutrophil, alpha-2b-interferon has been tried and several reports have demonstrated the clinical and functional effect of interferon on CNL. CNL is very rate hematologic disease and there are few report about general aspect of disorder. We report here a typical CNL case presenting with splenomegaly and leukocytosis with a review of the literature.

Current gas accident bring the loss on the property and a lot of casualties. Most of the gas accident was caused by careless handling gas. In particular, 41.3% of the total gas accident caused by gas leaks and explosions accounting for 51.3%. Therefore, accurate and rapid gas leak detection technology is necessary. In this paper, according to prevention of gas accidents, I tried to invent automatic gas leak cutout using Arduino, MQ-2 gas sensor and servo motor. Finished product recognizes a gas through the gas sensor and converts the value to a percentage. The servo motor operate in case of leak of gas.

Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) secondary to dissection of the ascending aorta remains a relatively rare complication. Aortic dissection frequently confused with AMI, leading to delayed diagnosis and inappropriate treatment with antiplatelet, antithrombin, and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). We report a case of a 57 years old female who presented with signs and symptoms of AMI and was later found to have aortic dissection. A 57-year old woman with a history of hypertension and diabetes mellitus visited emergency room with effort chest pain accompanied by sweating and headache. She underwent aortic valve replacement 3 years ago. There was no significant ST-segment change or pathologic Q-wave on initial standard 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG). Transthoracic echocardiography revealed ischemic insult of LAD territory, mild left ventricular dysfunction and normal prosthetic aortic valve state. Anticoagulation and antiplatelet therapy started and chest pain was relieved. After 4 hours, she complained re-onset chest pain and follow-up ECG and troponin- I level showed severe T-inversion in V1-6 and 20.7 ng/mL. Emergency coronary angiography (CAG) showed diffuse stenosis from proximal left anterior descending (LAD) artery to distal LAD artery. After repeated intra-arterial nitrate therapy, diffuse stenosis of LAD artery was resolved. We diagnosed non ST-segment myocardial infarction induced by severe LAD artery spasm and prescribed calcium channel blocker. 2 days later, she complained recurrent chest pain and follow-up troponin- I showed 50 ng/mL. Repeated CAG demonstrated diffuse stenosis of LAD artery. But, although repeated intra-arterial nitrate therapy, LAD artery was not resolved. Cardiac computed tomography (CT) performed and revealed ascending aortic dissection of from aortic root to distal aortic arch and extension to mid LAD territory. Emergency ascending aorta replacement with Bentall`s operation was performed. The patient recovered completely and discharged. This case illustrates how myocardial infarction can mask an aortic dissection. Careful evaluation of clinical features and use of various modalities such as ECG, echocardiography, and cardiac CT is necessary for accurate diagnosis.

This study was designed to investigate the effect of whole body vibration(WBV) on the proprioceptive body position sense decline of knee joint induced by muscle fatigue. As the cross-over study, ten young college male students were assigned to WBV treatment group and control(complete rest) group with a week interval. Muscle fatigue was induced by knee flexion and extention exercise at 180˚/sec using isokinetic exercise machine(Biodex, USA). Muscle fatigue was determined at the time point when the torque conducted by each subject decreased to the 40% of one’s pre-determined maximal toque. The determination of proprioceptive body position sense was conducted twice(active, passive) at 55 of knee joint and the values of absolute error were measured before and after 10min-WBV or complete rest for each subject’s fatigued leg. The result was followed as this. 1) Muscle fatigue induced by isokinetic exercise reduced the proprioceptive position sense of knee joint(p<.05) 2) Whole body vibration exercise contributed to the recovery from the declination of proprioceptive position sense induced by muscle fatigue(p<.05) 3) Whole body vibration exercise contributed to the recovery from the declined maximal knee extension toque induced by muscle fatigue(p<.05)

The slipstream flow patterns with different shapes of ventilation shaft are analyzed in the double-bore subway tunnel. The shapes of ventilation shaft have two types. One of the ventilation shafts is connected to tunnel with a sharp-edge(90°) and the other ventilation shaft is connected to tunnel with a slant-edge of 45°. Two trains are passing by each other in the double-bore tunnel. The size of model tunnel is 210m(z)ⅹ8.5m(y)ⅹ4.75m(x) and the velocity of moving train is ±1m/sec. The moving train is modeled by cylinder-type body whose radius is 1.75m and its length is 10.5m. Three vertical ventilation shafts are installed in each tunnel. Immersed Boundary Method (IBM) is applied to make it possible to analyze the relative motion of moving train in the tunnel. LES has been employed to simulate the flow in the tunnel. The Re is 1,500 based on the train radius. The turbulent flow fields which are generated by relative motion between moving train and ventilation shafts are analyzed. The ventilation efficiency is qualitatively investigated.
