      • Cardiovascular Neurons Mediating Somatosympathetic Reflex in Rostral Ventrolateral Medulla

        The rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) includes vasopressor neurons, which transmit activation signals to the intermediolateral nucleus (IML) of the spinal cord, where the preganglionic sympathetic nucleus is located, to raise arterial blood pressure (BP). However, controversy exists as to the possible depressor area in the RVLM and the pathway involved. The present study persued evidence far the location of depressor neurons and the pathway by simultaneously observing changes in BP and the firing rate (FR) of cardiovascular neurons (CVNs) in the RVLM during the somatosympathetic reflex (SSR) elicited by peripheral nerve stimulation, since CVNs are known to contribute to the generation of the sympathetic nerve discharge. In 42 cats, anaesthetized with α-chloralose, single unit recording was performed, using carbon filament electrodes inserted into the RVLM, enabling estimation of the post R wave unit histogram (PR-UNlT) and the spike triggered average of sympathetic nerve discharge (STA-SND), allowing identification of CVNs. Antidromic stimulation of spinal T<sub>2</sub> segment was followed to determine whether the identified CVN projects axonal endings to the spinal cord (reticulospinal neuron). The sciatic nerve was electrically stimulated at AΔ-intensity (1 mA, 0.1 ms), 1 Hz and C-intensity (10 mA, 0.5 ms), 20 Hz to elicit the depressor, and pressor responses of the SSR, respectively. Simultaneous measurement of CVN firing rate was made. Experimental results are summarized as follows. 1) 20 out of 98 CVNs had axonal projections to the spinal cord and 17 out of 98 CVNs showed FR changes during SSR. 2) Response patterns of FR and BP during SSR were classified into 8 types. 3) These 8 different response patterns could be further classified into those from pressor and depressor neurons. These results demonstrate that some CVNs were identifiable as reticulospinal neurons responding to anti-dromic stimulation and that CVNs operating as depressor neurons as well as pressor neurons exist in the RVLM, both of which are involved with SSR mediation. Therefore, evidence was found that an independent depressor pathway might be involved in the mediation of SSR.

        Literally, the mean of Tae-gye is highest brook. And on the basis of the acupuncture theory, Tae-gye point is the Soo earth point and source point of the Kidney Channel as well. In addition, Tae-gye point is one of the Yang-Returning Nine points. We were trying to study bibliographically on the Tae-gye point because Tae-gye point can be used very broadly across the symptoms in the theoretical aspect described above. As a results, we found out that according to the classical books of acupuncture, Tae-gye point is entering point of the Meridian Water as a source point and can be used at both Kidney-Sufficient Syndrom and Kidney-Deficient Syndrom. And Tae-gye can be applied to the disease of kidney or bladder that is urogenital symtoms, Also, Tae-gye is an useful option of tooth-ache, asthma, indigestion, constipation, edema etc whose cause is related with decrease of Kidney ki.

        여성 가성 반음양 치험례

        Normal sexual differentiation is the result of a series of individual steps that occur in an orderly fashion. Initially, chromosomal factors direct the defferentiation of the indifferent gonad into either an ovary or a testis. Then, under the influence of hormones secreted by the fetal testes, differentiation of the internal ducts and external genitalia is completed. Consequently, normal sexual differentiation can be subdivided into three separate events: differentiation of the gonads, development of the internal ducts and differentiation of the external genitalia. However, during embryogenesis any disturbance of the various steps in normal sexual differentiation may be reflected clinically as a disorder of intersexuality e.g. chromosomal anomalies, female pseudohermaphroditism, and male pseudohermaphroditism, etc. Genetic females with female pseudohermaphroditism have virilization of the external genitalia produced by intrauterine exposure to excessive androgen. But, because they normally developed ovaries and Mullerian derivatives, they are all potentially fertile. The degree of masculinization varies depending on the stage of differentiation at the time of exposure, from clitoral hypertrophy to true phallic-urethral formation with labioscrotal fusion. The most common cause is congenital adrenal hyperplasia in which cortisol synthesis is impaired due to deficiency of 21-hydroxylase. In attempting to compensate for lower cortisol levels, ACTH stimulates the adrenal gland to secrete excessive quantities of androgen. We experienced a 2 year-old girl, who expressed genital anomalies such as greatly enlarged clitoris-like male phallus associated with posterior labial fusion and a single perineal urogenital orifice which were first noticed by her parents since birth. The general assessment was normal and the karyotype was 46XX as normal genetic female. Plasma testosterone, ACTH, DHEAS, progesterone, and urinary 17-KS values were higher than normal, but cortisol was within normal value. Her blood pressure and serum eleotrolytes were normal. IVP, abdominal sonogram, retrograde cystogram and vaginogram were found to be normal. Explorative laparotomy and constructive operation of female external genitalia including vaginoplasty using inverted Y-shaped skin flap and clitoridectomy were performed under general anesthesia. Both adrenal glands revealed hyperplastic only, and both ovary was excised in wedge shape for shitologic examination. She was finally diagnosed as female pseudohermaphroditism due to congenital adrenal hyperplasia accompanied by incomplete deficiency of 21-hydroxlase, and hormonal therapy was started with hydrocortisone 15㎎/day in three divided dose for 1 month. The value of 17-KS in 24 hour urine study during follow-up period was within normal limit as 1.3㎎/day at POD ¢1 month, 0.7㎎/day at POD ¢2 month, 1.0mg/day at POD ¢6 month, 0.8mg/day at POD ¢16 month. Results of vaginoplasty, clitoridectomy, and hormonal therapy was satisfactory, and there was no recurrence or prematurity.

      • DP매칭에 의한 On-Line 악보인식

        실시간으로 악보를 인식하고,사용자의 편의를 도모하기 위해 DP(Dynamic Programming) 매칭법을 이용 한 On-Line 악보인식에 관한 방법을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서는 실시간으로 입력되는 악상기호를 인식하기 위해, 가장 유효한 정보인 악상 기호내의 x, y 좌표를 이용하여 16방향 부호화를 수행하여 입력패턴을 생성한 다음 표준패턴과의 DP매칭을 통하여 벌점을 구한다. 그리고 경로탐색을 통해 벌점에 대한 각각의 합계를 구해 최소값을 악상기호로 인식 하였다. 실험결과,표준패턴을 음표와 비음표의 두개의 그룹으로 나누어 인식함으로써 DP매칭의 처리 속도를 개선시켰고,국소적인 변형이 있는 패턴과 특징의 수가 다른 패턴의 경우에도 좋은 인식률을 얻었다. We proposed method about On-Line sheet music recognition by using Dynamic Programming matching method to recognize sheet music by real time, and maintain user's convenience. In this paper, we yield penalty through DP matching with standard pattern after run 16 directions encoding and create input pattern using x, y coordinate in theme symbol that is the valid information to recognize theme sign that is inputed by real time. And we recognized theme symbol by smallest value of each total about penalty through path search. In experiment result, we improved the processing speed of DP matching by recognizing dividing standard pattern to two group as note and non-note, and received the fine recognition rate in case of pattern with local transform and pattern that number of characteristic is different.

      • 十二經脈의 經脈名에 관한 考察

        In the present study, we aimed. to consider the name of twelve main Meridian in order to understand the concept of the Meridian system and to applicate acupuncture theory in the clinical field properly and fundamentally. We referred to several literatures on the matter and we found out that the name of present twelve Meridian was not settled until the period of Yellow Emperor's Classic. In the time of Yellow Emperor's Classic, the two theory of Internal Organ and Meridian system were combined and added new theory of 'WoonGi'. The general rule of combination is that the component of name of Meridian consist of 'Hand' or 'Foot', 'three Eum and Yang' and internal organ. The internal organ coupled with the root ki or middle ki of 'three Eum and Yang' and the 'Hand' or 'Foot' depend on the location of internal organ that belongs to meridian. The name of Twelve Meridian is a kind of system formed to analyze the two concepts organically and dynamically. One is material internal organ and the other is immaterial meridian system.
