        The purpose of this study was to invest gate the effect of 8-week aerobic and muscle resistance combined training on body composition, VO₂max and blood in the general university students. Subjects who were 14 freshmen belonging to college, pusan separated exercise-group of 7 persons and control-group of 7 person. In training method, running (aerobic exercise) was performed with 70% exercise -intensity of VO2max(40min/lbout), muscle resistance exercise for 8-week was performed with 60~70% of 1RM (10~15 bouts, 3set, 5time/lweek). The effects were shown below: 1. Body weight was decreased by 1.9kg(2.5%), Body fat rate was decreased by 17.1%, Fat volume was decreased by 2.37kg, respectively. LBM was significantly increased by 3.05kg. 2. V02inax was increased by 0.14ℓ/min but there was no significant change. VO₂max /kg was significantly increased by 3.88ℓ/kg/min. 3. Total-cholesterol was significantly increased by 11.63mg/㎗, TG was decreased by 13.00mg/㎗, LDL-C was increased by 9.34mg/㎗, HDL-C was increased by 4.89mg/㎗ but there was no significant change. 4. After 8-week, in exercise-group, Apolipoprotein A-I was increased by 5.37mg/di, Apolipoprotein B was decreased by 2.87mg/㎗, Atherogenic index was from 2.19+0.81 to 2.19+, so there were no significant changes. As the results of this study, in the general university students, Middle or moderate intensity aerobic and muscle resistance combined training program improves body composition, cardiorespiratory function and lipid metabolism, prevents arteriosclerosis disease.

A study on the Pyung Youl Byung Ron of the So Moon, one of the classic book of oriental medicine, was carried out analytically for the right comments. The principal obtained summarized as follow; The Pyung Youl Byung Ron is in chapter 33, Volumn 9 of the Hwang Jae Nae Guong.『Pyung Youl Byung Ron』 says Youl Bung(熱病) of Omyang Gyo(陰陽交), Pung Gyul(風厥), Lo Pung(勞風), Sin Pung(腎風), which come out when a fair and equitable spirit is under the power of poisonous energy and so weak and it is Pung Youl Byung Ron. This Book consist of four parts. The fisrt part explain 'Omyang Gyo'. The second part explain 'Pung Gyul'. The third part explain 'Lo Pung'. The forth part explain 'Sin Pung'.       • 腦動脈瘤 患者에서 血淸 LDL, Total cholesterol, Phospholipids 및 HDL cholesterol 의 動態

        지주막하 출혈을 일으킨 뇌동맥류 환자에서 혈청 LDL, total cholesterol, phospholipids 및 HDL cholesterol치를 분석, 정량하여 정상 대조군과 비교, 검토하였다. 뇌동맥류 환자에서 혈청 LDL과 total cholesterol의 평균치(mean±SE)는 각각 286±21㎎/㎗ 및 215±10㎎/㎗로써 대조군에 비하여 상승치를 나타내었으며 내경동맥류에서 현저 하였고 신경학적 장애 소견이 심한 군에서 현저히 상승되어 있었다. 그리고 혈청 phospholipids의 평균치는 149±8㎎/㎗로써 신경학적 장애 소견에 관계없이 대조군에 비해 현저히 감소되었고 내경동맥류와 중대뇌동맥류에서 현저하였다. 뇌동맥류 환자에서 혈청 HDL cholesterol의 평균치는 29±2㎎/㎗, total cholesterol에 대한 HDL cholesterol의 백분비 평균치는 15.1%로써 대조군에 비해 차이 있는 변화는 없었다. On the intracranial aneurysmal patients with subarachnoid homorrhage, serum lipid and lipoprotein values, including LDL, total cholesterol, phospholipids and HDL cholesterol level, were studied. Mean values (mean±SE) of serum LDL and total cholesterol level in aneurysmal group were 286±21㎎/㎗ and 215±10 ㎎/㎗ respectively, showing higher level than those from normal control group, and the levels were more elevated in aneurysmal patients of internal carotid artery and aneurymal patients with severe neurological disorders such as grade 3,4 according to Botterell's classification. In aneurysmal group, serum phospholipids level was decreased remarkably by 149±8 ㎎/㎗ in mean value, compared to control group, and it showed no relationship with neurological deficits. However, it was decreased more in patients with aneurysm of internal carotid and middle cerebral artery. In aneurysmal group, mean value of serum HDL cholesterol level was 29±2㎎/㎗ with percent of HDL cholesterol to total cholesterol, 15.1%. The findings showed no significant difference between aneurysmal and control group.

        The stabilty constants for the 1:1 complexes of 18-crown-6 with alkali metal ion in 70 wt% CH₃OH and and 30 wt% H₂O are determined conductometrically. In the temperature range between 25℃ and 40℃ the values of the enthalpy and entropy changes can be calculated. It is found that the stability constants of 18-crown-6 with alkali metal cation complexes depended highly on the relatively ratio of cavity size in 18-crown-6 and cation size. And so the stability constants of the complexes are in the order of K^(+)>Rb^(+)>Cs^(+)>Na^(+)>Li^(+). The enthalpy changes in the order of K^(+)>Rb^(+)>Cs^(+)>Na^(+)>Li^(+) and the negative entropy changes also are obtained.

      • 알레르기성 비염 환자에서 절지동물성 특이항원의 양성율 및 항원간 일치율

        The current study was designed to evaluate the positive rates of arthropod allergens by Korean inhalant panel of MAST-CLA in patients with allergic rhinitis. One hundred sixty patients, diagnosed to allergic rhinitis in an Out Patient Center of Soonchunhyang University Chunan Hopsital during Aug 1998 to July 2000, were studied. 1. The overall positive rate among 35 specific allergens was 59.4% (95 patients). 2. The arthropod related allergen accounted for 82.1% (78 patients) of the positive rate. 3. Each positive rate of Dermatophagoides farinae (Df), Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (Dp), house dust (Hd), and cockroach mix (Cm) was 45.0% (72 patients), 43.1% (69 patients), 28.1% (45 patients), and 8.8% (14 patients), respectively. 4.Significant agreement between arthropod allergens was observer (P < 0.05). 5. The obseved agreement between Df and Dp was 95.6%, showing most significant Kappa index (Kappa = 0.911, P < 0.001). There results suggested that although MAST-CLA is a useful measure of identifying specific allergens, the specificity of two mite allergen relatively low, implying because of common allergen between mites in Korean panel of MAST-CLA. Our data also supported that arthropod is the major cause of allergen in patients with allergic rhinitis, however, the MAST-CLA should be modified in order to exclude common allergen of mite and to include more specific mite allergen.

        Inhibition of Cervical Cancer Cell Growth by Gene Silencing of HPV16 E6 Induced by Short-interfering RNA

        The Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) infection has been strongly associated with pathogenesis of uterine cervix carcinoma. HPV type 16, a causative agent of uterine cervix carcinoma, encodes the E6 and E7 oncogenes, expression of which is pivotal for malignant transformation and maintenance of malignant phenotypes. To develop a gene therapy for HPV-related carcinoma, We investigated the effect of E6 short-interfering RNA (E6 siRNA) on the expression of this oncogene and on the growth of HPV 16-related uterine cervix carcinoma cells. SiHa cells, a uterine cervix carcinoma cell line, which contain a single copy of HPV 16 integrated in the chromosome and express the E6 and E7 oncogenes. Before 24 hr of transfection, cells were seeded and transfected with control plasmid or E6 siRNA-expressing plasmid. The mRNA was analysed by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The cell growth rate was investigated by MTT method. The E6 mRNA level in SiHa cells was decreased in HPV 16 E6 siRNA-expression vector transfected cells and a decrease in the growth of these cells was also observed. From these results. it is evident that E6 siRNA played a role in suppression of growth of SiHa cells and has a fair chance as a candidate for gene specific therapy for HPV related uterine cervix carcinoma.

      • Role of Plasma Cystatin C and Urine NGAL in Prediction of Acute Kidney Injury and Mortality in Patients with Acutely Decompensated Cirrhosis: A Prospective Cohort Study

        Aims: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is the most frequent and devastating complication in cirrhotic patients. Emerging evidences suggest that novel biomarkers could predict AKI earlier than conventional markers and better predict prognosis in these patients. To determine the incidence and prognosis of AKI in acutely decompensated cirrhotic patients and also test whether plasma cystatinc C, urine neutrophil gelatinase associated lipocalin (NGAL) or tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-2 (TIMP-2), insulin like growth factor 7 (IGFBP7) could predict the development of AKI and prognosis. Methods: This is a single center prospective observational study conducted between May 2015 and Dec. 2017 with acutely decompensated cirrhotic patients. AKI was defined by KDIGO (Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes) criteria and urine and plasma samples were collected at the time of admission. Performances of novel biomarkers as well as various functional, clinical parameters were compared. Results: Of 111 patients, 45 (40.5%) developed AKI during hospitalization and these patients showed significantly higher mortality (25% vs. 46.5%, P=0.02). Although initial BUN and serum creatinine were not different, plasma cystatin C and urine NGAL at the time of admission were significantly increased in patients who developed AKI and also death. Plasma cystatin C and urine NGAL were independently associated with the development of AKI after adjusting for clinical variables including age, co-morbidity and Child-Pugh score. [plasma cystatin C, odds ratio (OR) 2.09; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.01- 4.35), urine NGAL, OR 1.04, CI 1.01-1.05]. Although these biomarkers failed to predict mortality independent of clinical variables, urine NGAL significantly improved the accuracy of MELD in predicting mortality. Conclusions: Novel biomarkers including plasma cystatin C or urine NGAL might be useful in earlier diagnosis of AKI and also in predicting mortality in acutely decompensated cirrhotic patients.

        A 15-year-old female with primary amenorrhea and Tuner``s syndrome feature was referred for a chromosome analysis. The karyotype of the patient was 45,X/46,X,der(Y) mosaicism under initial GTG-banding analysis. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis with probe for CEP X probes and SRY probe (Vysis, Inc. Downers Grove, IL 60515, USA) was carried out. This probe is direct labeled with SpectrumOrange (SRY, Yp11.3) and is available as a single probe or mixed with the CEP X SpectrumGreen probe. SRY SpectrumOrange/CEP X SpectrumGreen hybridized to a specimen obtained from an two isodicentric Y chromosomes. The karyotype of the patient was ish Xcen(DXZ1x1)/Xcen(DXZ1x1), Yp11.3(SRYx2) by using FISH. This karyotype was considered a variant of Tuner syndrome with mixed gonadal dysgenesis (MGD), male pseudohermaphroitism (MPH) and apparently normal male
